How do you partake in this fantastic congregation of character testing? Why, by following these simple steps:

[Sometimes Arthur just likes to take in the sights of the Water Sector. He's given the other sectors cursory exploration to familiarize himself, but nowhere else on the turtle, besides the sea, does he feel quite so comfortable. Today he's headed a little deeper in toward the exotic marketplaces, traveling through the canals beneath the little boats.

Once he's about reached his destination, he climbs out of the water, light glinting off the orange scales of his shirt. He notices an oddly-colored head of hair in the bustle and wonders briefly, but... well, kedan are shapeshifters...]

[Arthur finds himself today in what amounts to a flea market in the Earth Sector - mostly he's looking for parts that might be salvageable to help keep the PASIV in good repair. Just because he hasn't used it since he arrived here doesn't mean he never will.

Besides, it's just good business sense to keep one's equipment in good working order.

It's tough to find things that will work, though, and he's started considering alternates - maybe ceramic or clay parts? Of course, he knows enough to keep it in repair, not to build one from scratch, so he'll probably have to consult with a mechanic or engineer - assuming he can even find one he can trust.]

Are you kidding? I'm not paying that much for junk like this. [Arthur is also good at figuring out what the locals expect when shopping. Some places, you're expected to just pay what they ask. And some places, that's not the case. Keeliai? Is the latter.]

Finding a young woman who appeared about the same age as he was, he touched her elbow politely to get her attention. ]

[Bizarrely, the thing Jack's having the most trouble getting to grips with right now is the animals. The Kedan talk and act like people, and even though they're weird, it's not that hard to treat them as much. (That and he's too polite to make a thing of it.) The animals aren't anything like what he's used to though, and that bugs him. Or maybe he's just displacing his anxiety about the overall situation. What's important is now he's having a, um, heated discussion with a food vendor about what exactly that vaguely cattle-like animal is.]

Hey, miss? [He asks in Fang's general direction to get her attention and gestures to the animal. There's no other foreigners around and he could use some backup here] You ever seen anythin' like this before?

Usually he was better at this sort of thing. Leaping from tree to tree was something he'd been doing since he was a little mutant but everyone has off days. That's why he slips and falls right out of the tree he'd been in instead of leaping to the other. Hitting the grass with a thud, he starts to sit up.

"Okay, not my most graceful landing," he groans. "I hope no one saw that," the green mutant goes on, unaware that he fell near someone out in the Wood Sector.

Sabriel had never worked a day in her life. Still, she had recieved an education, and she intended to put it to use.

And so she found herself in a square in the Earth District, putting on a magic show, with flashes of Charter-conjured light and some parlor tricks that were the some of the first spells she'd learned, making wooden balls hidden in her pockets appear in her hands, and tossing them to the audience before using a different spell to snatch them back, keeping a polite smile on her face the whole time, trying to keep her unease from showing through.

She tried to pretend that she's back at Wyverley College, and this was simply another practical examination. She'd known these spells for years, there was no reason to be nervous. Still, her fingers fumbled with the balls, and Sabriel felt the smile slip from her face.]

[She wasn't one who was used to not having money, at least not in the way that some people might be. When Felicia learned that things had a cost, she had someone else footing the bill. When she wanted to buy things herself, the costs were usually expensive and she paid it out anyway. So when she goes through the market, she doesn't think about what the kedan are charging for items. She just gives them over the money.

So if she spies anyone else haggling, she might be curious enough to watch, because she doesn't understand the whole "trying for a bargain" concept. Otherwise, she'll be trying to buy any little shiny trinket that interests her while reflexively moving about to avoid running into anyone with the large, white, feathered appendages sticking out from her back.

Really, don't touch the wings. Just don't.]
