Itching to try out writing a character? Then rev up your engines, grab your accounts, and slam your way into this meme! Here is a venue for you to try out whatever character there might be tickling your fancy, from fandom to OC, for as few as one and as many as MANY. Seriously, there's no limit.

How do you partake in this fantastic congregation of character testing? Why, by following these simple steps:

1. Comment with the journal of a character you want to test; put their name and canon in the subject line for added sparkles.
2. Tag around with everyone!
3. Profit like you live on a the back of a turtle!

But wait, there's more! For the low, low price of $9,999.99, you can even use one of our handy prompts when you tag someone. You could even pick one with a Random Number Generator to help decide which prompt to go with!

   Maybe someone else saw the exact same shiny thing you did at the exact same moment! However shall this be resolved? Remember: blood is extremely hard to scrub off of turtleshell!

   Go nuts. Suddenly your character is fighting dragons! Good God, they've found the Millennium Falcon drifting in the ocean! Do you really feel the need to polish every paving stone in the Earth Sector? Please note, Wildcard options are also what you can choose to do if you aren't yet comfortable in the Tu Shanshu setting and would prefer a more 'dear-mun' esque experience. Please specify in your post!

This marks the official start of the monthly test drive meme and, to celebrate, we're giving a new feature a shot. The first comment/thread on this test drive is going to be titled ENABLE ME and it's where you post character accounts/muselists, etc and others (members, passerbys, shoulder demons) can enable you to apply to Tu Shanshu! [Dick's in the water sector today, sitting on the edge of a fountain and eating the Keeliai equivalent of a bean bun. He's clearly a "foreigner" but doesn't stick out too much otherwise.

He's casually watching the crowd (except that Bats rarely "casually" watch anything). He sees Donna, but doesn't recognize her. All he can tell is that she's a "foreigner" like him. And she has a presence about her, in the good way.

If she happens to look his way, he'll smile at her.]

[Donna didn't have much else to do but look around, and she spotted the young dark haired boy as she looked across the crowd. He smiled and there was something familiar in it, she smiled in return and automatically raised her hand in a wave.

He looked like...no. But the similarity was startling.]

[He waves back and takes that as a cue of "I'm not too busy so I won't rush off if you come to talk to me."

Because talking to everyone is a good way to get information. And make friends. And assess potential threats.]

[Dick dusts off his hands then sprigs from the edge of the fountain before making his way over to Donna.]

Uhh..yeah. I just got my bearings enough to find this area.

[She's squinting a big because he looks like Dick only younger, almost before she knew him, younger.]

I'm Donna, and you?

[Ok, well..given her life stranger things have happened.]

I sort of thought you were. It's nice to meet you too, thought I sort of have the advantage of knowing, an older you anyway.

[He tries not to look as awkward as he feels.]

I hear that a lot, but I've been here long enough to sorta get used to it.

You know I was exactly the same way on a few occasions.

[She smiled sympathetically to him.]

So how I about I get to know you for you, not the guy I knew.

Deal. Should we start with a tour?

I'd appreciate that, I still don't have my bearings really.

Okay. Well this [He gestures around grandly] is the Water sector. There are five sectors in the city, each named after an element: Water, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Wood. They're all pretty different, so you'll probably end up preferring one sector to another. Water, for instance, has great food. And it's the safest, when it comes to crime.

[donna_troy]

Good food, low crime. I've used that criteria to pick apartments before.

[She looked around as he gave the tour and pointed out the sectors.]

Where do you stay?

Wood sector. I pretty much live in a giant treehouse.

That sounds fun actually. Peter Pan style or Swiss Family Robinson?

More Swiss Family Robinson but a little Peter Pan mixed in. People who tend to live in the tree houses are kind of... peculiar.

[He includes himself in that statement, obviously.]

Peculiar, [she seemed to debated the word a moment before she nodded.] And a bit unorthodox, and creative. I don't know that many people who could pull it off.

Seems like it. More people live in Fire and Metal.

I'm sure you'll find a place you feel most comfortable in.
