meme | test drive!

Itching to try out writing a character? Then rev up your engines, grab your accounts, and slam your way into this meme! Here is a venue for you to try out whatever character there might be tickling your fancy, from fandom to OC, for as few as one and as many as MANY. Seriously, there's no limit.
How do you partake in this fantastic congregation of character testing? Why, by following these simple steps:
- Comment with the journal of a character you want to test; put their name and canon in the subject line for added sparkles.
- Tag around with everyone!
- Profit like you live on a the back of a turtle!
But wait, there's more! For the low, low price of $9,999.99, you can even use one of our handy prompts when you tag someone. You could even pick one with a Random Number Generator to help decide which prompt to go with!
- A Chance Meeting at the Turtle's Head.
Remember, being here causes a great sense of-- well, shall we say inner peace. - Haggling Over Something in the Marketplace!
Maybe someone else saw the exact same shiny thing you did at the exact same moment! However shall this be resolved? Remember: blood is extremely hard to scrub off of turtleshell! - Hey, I Just Met You, and This is Crazy...
First impressions are always the most important, right? - WILDCARD!
Go nuts. Suddenly your character is fighting dragons! Good God, they've found the Millennium Falcon drifting in the ocean! Do you really feel the need to polish every paving stone in the Earth Sector? Please note, Wildcard options are also what you can choose to do if you aren't yet comfortable in the Tu Shanshu setting and would prefer a more 'dear-mun' esque experience. Please specify in your post!

Can't say I blame them, 'specially not if they've ever taken a look through the consoles. [He's not naive enough to think just because the kedan don't have private consoles it means they don't use them. And, well, a lot of the Foreigners seem pretty lost when they introduce themselves on there. (He probably would have been the same, if he hadn't tracked down Reid first).]

Man, I thought I didn't look like that much of a newbie. [It's in good humour, though. He knows it could be as simple as this Arthur not having seen him around before.] Derek Morgan.
[Giving his full name is a formality he's gotten used to, but he's been dropping the 'SSA' or 'Agent'. He won't lie about what he does if asked, but it seems better to exercise a little caution.]

Some people are better at blending in quickly than others, that's for sure. [Also, he monitors the network pretty closely. He's no expert hacker, but it's the best, most concentrated source of information at the moment.] Then again, I've been here for a few months, and it's still tough to wrap my head around some of the things I've seen.

I'll have to work on it. [He'd rather not come across like he doesn't know what the hell he's doing, especially if the kedan are likely to take advantage of it. But he manages a wry sort of laugh at the comment about wrapping his head around things.] Tell me about, man, this is all some weird sci-fi shit.

There's not really much you can do about it - all the Foreigners stand out, obviously. [His lips twitch a little.] I'm still not entirely sure this is real, but try asking on the network about magic.

But he just shakes his head at the comment about standing out, it's an unfortunate situation, but Arthur's right about it being impossible to change.] Oh, trust me, I've heard more than enough about magic to last me a life time. I think the boy genius gave me fifty different theories for how it all worked before he even said hello.
[Spoiler: Reid never actually said hello, but Derek sounds a little bit fond talking about him.]
no subject
That, and he's used to hostile projections.]
Boy genius? [His mind doesn't go immediately to Reid - maybe because he's spoken to a couple of guys younger than him who would qualify for that title.]
no subject
[They are best friends can you tell.]

[He knows Reid hasn't made it a secret that he works for the FBI, so.
And he's just going to pretend words like "co-worker" or "friend" are strong enough. The whole team is family, even if that hurts a little with Prentiss leaving.]
no subject
Unless he turns out to be a projection, in which case, they're probably all screwed.]
no subject
...Not that he really knows why he's brought here, he's just sure there's a little more to it than "make sure Reid doesn't get into too much trouble."]
