Itching to try out writing a character? Then rev up your engines, grab your accounts, and slam your way into this meme! Here is a venue for you to try out whatever character there might be tickling your fancy, from fandom to OC, for as few as one and as many as MANY. Seriously, there's no limit.

How do you partake in this fantastic congregation of character testing? Why, by following these simple steps:

1. Comment with the journal of a character you want to test; put their name and canon in the subject line for added sparkles.
2. Tag around with everyone!
3. Profit like you live on a the back of a turtle!

This marks the official start of the monthly test drive meme and, to celebrate, we're giving a new feature a shot. The first comment/thread on this test drive is going to be titled ENABLE ME and it's where you post character accounts/muselists, etc and others (members, passerbys, shoulder demons) can enable you to apply to Tu Shanshu! That makes two of us. Apparently we've been brought here for some.. heroic purpose or the other. I guess people forgot you could ask instead of kidnap.

[He is being more flippant than necessary; she's always been able to see right through him.]

And that has you worried. [She nodded, she could see as much as he was making light, his jaw was tensed and he wasn't the usual casual Kyle she knew. Donna moved forward and ran her hand down from his shoulder to his hand, giving it a squeeze.]

It isn't exactly the first time powers the be decided we needed to be somewhere. But now that I know you're here I can feel like someone I trust has my back.

[imaginate]

[He relaxes at the gesture. It's good to have her around.] Wish we knew for what. There's no outward hostility from the native populace, but we [meaning superheroes] aren't really allowed to interfere that much, either. I don't like it.

[donna_troy]

That almost sounds like frustration at not being able to work. [She chided gently and stepped forward. He looked like he could use some reassurance and so it came in the form of the patented Donna Troy hug, it was good for all that might ail you.]

The thing about playing by rules made by other people is that those rules tend to change. Don't let it get under your skin, maybe we can figure this out.

[He laughs, and hugs her back, tightly.] You know me, never off-duty. [A beat.] Did you just get here?

[donna_troy]

Yeah, dried off and warmed up, I think someone even gave me a cup of coffee. These natives are very helpful.

[Which was nice, but a little unsettling for someone who was used to a less welcoming group of ambassadors when she arrived in alternate dimensions.]

They are, once you get past the fact that every third sentence is going to be 'It's the Emperors' business.'

Is that what they were saying, I wasn't completely aware I think at the time. Is it weird that this place reminds me a little of the Dr Seuss books I used to read to Robert?

[imaginate]

No green eggs and ham here. [His expression softens. He misses her son too.] All things considered, we've been in tighter spots.

[donna_troy]

I'd say, no one has tried to kill me, enslave me, wipe my mind, erase me from existence. That pretty much makes this almost a vacation.

[imaginate]

And nobody's tried to take my ring or torture me, unless you count having to hear my neighbour singing in the early hours of the morning. [This joke is real enough, he's much more at ease.] I'd say 'not yet' but I woke up on the optimistic side of bed today.

[donna_troy]

Your bed has more sides than those gaming dice.

[Donna laughed, it was a light pretty sort of sound, and somewhat infectious. She leaned against him and just sighed. It was good having friends here.]

So what do people do here? Is this really life on a turtle?

S.S. Bioluminescent Turtle if the lady wishes to use the technical term. [He holds out an arm for her to take, so they can start walking around.] There's a lot to see and do and never a dull moment. [In both the good and bad ways, but he'll let her find that out for herself.]

[She linked her arm though his with another of those light laughs cast off carelessly.]

Well now, had I known this would be a cruise I would have packed my swim suit.

Plenty here you can pick from. [Beat.] Oh, one more thing, people get pulled here from different times and alternate universes. Not all of them are as used to it as we are.

Didn't we ride this one already? Wait....please tell me there is not female Batman here. I am still trying to cope with that.

Nah, regular old Spooky. Most of them are from our universe. The others... you'll meet them soon. [He's still trying to get over liking Oliver Queen, ok.]

[donna_troy]

Ohh, well at least that's the beast I know how to deal with. The rest...you'll be there right? You'll have my back?

Always. [The years they'd fought together, stayed together, throughout everything. God, she'd even put up with his ridiculous costume changes.
