Itching to try out writing a character? Then rev up your engines, grab your accounts, and slam your way into this meme! Here is a venue for you to try out whatever character there might be tickling your fancy, from fandom to OC, for as few as one and as many as MANY. Seriously, there's no limit.
How do you partake in this fantastic congregation of character testing? Why, by following these simple steps:
→ Comment with the journal of a character you want to test; put their name and canon in the subject line for added sparkles. → Tag around with everyone! → Profit like you live on a the back of a turtle! → Maybe even RESERVE so you CAN live on the back of a turtle! But wait, there's more! For the low, low price of $9,999.99, you can even use one of our handy prompts when you tag someone. You could even pick one with a Random Number Generator to help decide which prompt to go with!
- Haggling Over Something in the Marketplace!
Maybe someone else saw the exact same shiny thing you did at the exact same moment! However shall this be resolved? Remember: blood is extremely hard to scrub off of turtle shell!
- Dramatic Chase Sequence!
You're running away from something! It could be anything, from a rampaging kirin to a gaggle of overly enthusiastic children! One way or another, you can't stop, and much like a katamari ball, you feel obligated to grab everyone in your path along the way to keep them out of danger! Or perhaps you're more the sort to try and knock them into it as a distraction...?
- Where There's A Will, There's A...?
The Life and Dreaming Planes have been merged, and sometimes what starts out as wishful thinking becomes lured into reality. That slick new motorcycle or pile of kingly treasure you were just daydreaming about? Surprise! It's just appeared in front of you. Though, it may only stay for a short while before it disappears again, so make it count. Hopefully you're not the type to daydream about terrible things befalling people you don't like...
- SECRET UNDERCOVER MODE ACTIVATE!
The three major kedan families all have their own agendas, and you've chosen to entangle yourselves with one (or more!) of them. Are you hoping to shift the balance of power? Gain some favours? Perhaps you're on a mission to bring a criminal to justice, or maybe you just want to get the cream of the crop from the black market. Maybe you haven't been hired by them at all, but are using their name for your own goals... as long as no one discovers the lie!
- Wait... you want my what now?!
The kedan are a curious folk, and the Foreigners are entertainment in conveniently arriving packages, especially when they come along with unique items that the kedan might not have seen before. Maybe it's your cellphone... or maybe it's your knickers! How badly do you want to keep your stuff from some overeager native shapeshifters who want to buy, bribe, or burglarize it right off your person?
- Sea prunes, get your sea prunes right here!
Life in Keeliai can take a little getting used to: the chickens have scales, the cows have feathers, and the fruits come in more colour and pattern combinations than your average tye-dye shirt. Not to mention that meal you just ordered from the food vendor? Has arrived on the plate, and you're pretty sure you just saw it move.
- Everybody needs a little darkness...
The Great Enemy may have been defeated over two years ago, and people are even willing to speak Malicant's name aloud now, but there remains a taint in the city never fully purged. Those who consider Malicant a dark god whose end was unjust are the cultists of Keeliai, and they aren't always so easy to identify as one might think. Sometimes their presence is felt in the growing urge to give into one's darker instincts, especially in such a foreign place...
- Illicit substances, anyone?
Every city has its vices, and Keeliai is no different. Perhaps you actively sought it out, or perhaps an opportunistic dealer saw you as a potential customer needing a free sample, but you're now in possession of a packet of Lucid, an emotion-enhancing drug. Interested in finding out what happens when you crush that colourful crystal and ingest it?
- Incoming!
Tu Vishan's latest landfall stop has brought an unwelcome problem to its residents: enormous, toothy creatures who look more like pterosaurs than most people are comfortable with! With a twenty-foot wingspan, these aren't exactly harmless local wildlife, and they have a nasty habit of swooping down on targets both Foreigner and kedan! How are you going to fend them off, or help someone who might have been injured by the latest dive bombing??
- WILDCARD!
Go nuts. Suddenly your character is fighting dragons! Good God, they've found the Millennium Falcon drifting in the ocean! Do you really feel the uncontrollable urge to polish every paving stone in the Earth Sector? Anything goes!

Yukikaze | 07-ghost | canon OC | voicetesting one last time really
Apparently he didn't need to get his sword back from Kedan, seeing as another sword just like it has suddenly appeared in front of him. Well, now that was convenient. But somehow, it... why does it seem like it suddenly whispers to him, confidentially? He was only a human being, but... was that some people meant, by sword being a part of them? His swords were never a part of him. Just weapons, to defend his King with. So maybe he never truly believed in swords. But, now... maybe it's just this strange place, getting to him.
But he suddenly has this desire - desire to check whether he still bleeds like should, if cut. After all, he was dead now, wasn't he? So, shouldn't he check? Shouldn't he make sure?
Tentatively, he makes a shallow cut on his right arm, only after rolling the sleeve up, because he wasn't lazy, but he wasn't a tailor, either.
"Hmm. So, do dead people still bleed? Fascinating. But I suppose that's evidence enough."
6.
"Excuse me, sir.." to the waiter, because politeness never hurts, and when it does, he can deal with it. "Excuse me, but I think something might be slightly strong with this food. It seems to be alive - and I don't mind, truly, but can I kill it? If it's not strictly allowed, I shall give you a tip so that it is."
Peter Bishop | Fringe | I do what I want
He has a drink in front of him, resting on the table by his hand, a finger tapping idly on the tabletop. In the other hand is a juulan coin, spinning expertly between his fingers. He's watching people. Best way to get to know people is by watching them in bars.
Also the best way to learn to exploit them... Not that Peter was actively looking... But he couldn't help but notice some similarities between these kedan and humans.
He smiles slightly, reaching for his drink. This was definitely... strange. Not the strangest thing he's seen, but... it's up there.

Yukikaze's just curious, as he hasn't yet tried any beverages out, in this place. Besides, talking to strangers was always interesting, unless they were the most boring kind - which rarely happened.
no subject
Besides, people usually did of their own accord, and it wasn't as if he was seeming closed. He'd made sure to keep himself as open and neutral as possible.
"Mm..." He lowers the glass, looking at it, a half-smile on his face. "It's... Interesting."

Mirath Rue | D&D OC
[There's a small crowd of children in the marketplace, a young woman crouched at it's center. Her clothes are a combination of leathers and light material, enough to offer some protection without weighing her down. Atop her head is a silver circlet, simple in design but laced with tiny flowers at it's edges and two small stag horns set that they look a part of her being.
Smile on her face, she motions for the children to gather close around her. Excited silence fills the air and even the sounds of the marketplace dull. A few of the neighbouring vendors even pause in their work to see what she's up to.]
Are we ready then?
[Some reply, others nod. Mirath extends a hand over a patch of empty soil. A moment later, a small vine shoots from the ground, weaving skyward and growing before their eyes. Leaves bloom, buds grow and open to tiny white flowers and in a minute, a small but rather pretty plant has a place in the world. Another springs beside it, following much the same path.
The children react as children do in the face of something magical and Mirath can't help but grin.]
It won't last forever, but then again, very little will. So we have to take care of it while it's there.
[That said, she moves to stand, intent of leaving the kids to their wonder.]
[6]
[Exploring has been going well enough and more than a few of her questions have been answered. However, one very new, very large question has sprung into her mind and even she can't find reason for it.
The food on her plate is wriggling, and not in a 'jelly on a plate wobble' kind of wriggling, but rather a 'hello I'm alive, let's party' kind of deal. She leans back a little, glancing uncertainly from the kedan who presented her with the days 'special' to the food itself.]
I ah, don't mean to be rude... But is it mean to be doing... that?

Connal Felwin | D&D OC
[Sometimes Connal wishes he took a little more after his parents. Both were great hunters and experts with the bow. As he runs through the streets with a giant winged lizard chasing him, Connal can't help but think a bow would be very useful right now. Instead the only thing he's carrying are two small children. Both of them hurl insults at the flying monster while Connal tries to rush them to safety.
If his hands were free maybe he could cast a spell. That means dropping one of the kids though, which is definitely out of the question.]
After the Underdark I'm going to real mad if this is the thing that kills me!
[10]
[While speaking to people might be a skill he's lacking in, speaking to animals is another thing entirely. Besides when you end up in a strange new place with strange new animals how can you not start chatting them up?
After spotting one of the beasts of burden within in the city, Connal's eyes light up. He approaches the multi-horned bull-like beast, gives a quick motion with his hand, and immediately begins speaking with it. Except the noises coming out of his mouth aren't words. It sounds like he's mooing at the creature. Even stranger is the fact it's actually responding to him.
None of this might be so bad if he weren't doing it during midday, in the middle of the street, with its owner watching the whole thing in obvious discomfort.]
hello darkness my old friend
[His hands may be tied, but hers sure aren't. Hell, she's not even sure who it is that's running. He's familiar, but it wouldn't be the first time she's mistaken someone for someone else. What Mirath does know is that a man and some kids are being chased by a big winged beastie and that's enough for her to step in and help.
Where others run away, Mirath runs towards them, coming in from the side and lifting her arms as she goes. A beam of light appears from above the creature, starting small then blasting down in a pillar. In an instant the lizard bursts into an unnatural flame.
Take 2d10 radiant damage, you jerk.
It's not enough to kill it, but hopefully it'll stall things enough to help.]

He keeps reminding himself that it would be rude to just remove the people ahead of him. But it's sooo sooo tempting.
6. Once he has his latte he has to wonder if he really wants to drink it. It is bright blue with pink swirls. Ironically it's not really the pink that bothers him but that Bantha milk blue. He hated that stuff.
So now he's wandering around, just looking at the "latte". Eventually he can't take it and he holds it out to the nearest person. "Does that look right to you?"
10. Wildcard! Feel free to run to Vader wherever.
1.
He's just reading something from the library to kill time.
Well, if 'Vader' wanted to try something, at least Yukikaze isn't an innocent citizen? He's armed, with two swords.

Cloud Strife | Final Fantasy VII
[After living in a place like Edge, this place had felt like a strange sort of paradise. Cloud wasn't sure that he trusted any of it, he couldn't help but be wary of everything that this place was; of everything that was here. People pulled from their homes and brought to such a strange place. A city that made no sense and was..on the back of a giant beast. It all felt surreal and honestly Cloud kept waiting for the moment when he'd wake up from the fever dream.
It was a few days after his arrival that he felt it for the first time. The strange pull at the back of his mind and the hushed whispers that he couldn't make sense of. He felt, for a moment, as if he was going crazy. As if the Geostigma hadn't been washed away and he was still being haunted by..
Cloud's steps halted as he lifted a hand to his head with a frown, closing his eyes as he tried to regain his bearings. The weight of his sword against his back was almost begging to be transferred into his hands, begging to be used--to be swung--to cut down--
No.
The blonde shook his head and forced himself to keep walking, hands twitching as his sides as he tried to keep it together.]

He glowered and elbowed his way through the crowd on the marketplace, not in the mood to play nice. He just wanted to get back to their camp, and... well, certainly not sulk. Brood. Yes, that sounded better.
A glint of familiar chrome armour had him halting, which sent an elderly lady carrying a basket full of apples stumbling into him. He didn't even notice the mayhem of rolling apples.

SUP BABY
Somewhat frustrated and in need of a break, Poe walked into the first bar in the Central Sector that he could see and that didn't look too shady. However, because he was walking in at the same time someone was walking out, Poe crashed against a solid body and almost fell backwards.
"Sorry, I wasn't looki....oh." He blinked, realized that his current line of view might not be the most polite, and titled his head up.

Danny Fenton | Danny Phantom | 9
"Right. Apparently this is a thing now. Giant dinosaur bird things. That aren't ghosts. I don't suppose we could talk this out?"
He slides into intangibility as the bird swoops toward him and allows it to fly right through him. Danny sighs as he launches off the ground and chases after it.
"Guess not. When did this kind of thing become normal again?"

Thea Queen l Arrow
It had been a strange few days as Thea finally left the hotel on a mission: clothes not covered in blood and extra arrows since for some reason her archery gear had somehow made the trip. She made stops at a few market booths and had found a few needed items so for the moment she was scanning the crowd to find a place to make a quick change. But the truth was a few more days of rest would have been useful since she looks ready to drop from the lack of sleep more than anything else.
(canon point: when she was stabbed by Ra's Al Ghul in "Broken Arrow" from S3)
Kaito Kuroba/Kaitou KID // Magic Kaito/Detective Conan
Well, this was certainly something KID hadn't been expecting to do. Can't say he wasn't enjoying it, however, even as he turned back around and stuck his tongue out at his pursuers. Eerily similar to his own Taskforce's rendition of 'dog pile on the thief' but more interesting since he didn't know who these people were and he certainly hadn't had time to case the place and find something worth stealing.
But hey, that didn't mean he couldn't enjoy it, right? Which was why he was currently leap frogging over some poor, unsuspecting person who just got in his way.
"Sorry!"
#5
"Oi, oi, oi!" KID said, raising his arms in front of him. "I'm sorry, but the cape is certainly NOT for sale. And if you don't mind-" His voice cuts off as someone grabs at his coat. "Oh, wait! Don't touch that, you-"
KID's voice cuts off as he and those with him are covered in smoke. Jumping out of the cloud, he sighs and shakes his head. "I tried to tell them..." he mutters to himself as the smoke dissipates and everyone that had been surrounding him is out cold on the ground.
#6
Kaito poked at the thing on his plate with both curiosity and caution. Just what the hell was that - oh my god, did it just move? Bending his head down to get a closer look, he stared at it for a second, before he saw them - the gills.
And then his mind registered what that was and he shrieked, pushing back from the table so fast he ended up tripping over his own feet to land on his backside, all the while screaming "GET IT AWAY. GET IT AWAY."
2
It was the best way he had to express his annoyance.
