Test Drive Meme | April 2014

Itching to try out writing a character? Then rev up your engines, grab your accounts, and slam your way into this meme! Here is a venue for you to try out whatever character there might be tickling your fancy, from fandom to OC, for as few as one and as many as MANY. Seriously, there's no limit.
How do you partake in this fantastic congregation of character testing? Why, by following these simple steps:
- Comment with the journal of a character you want to test; put their name and canon in the subject line for added sparkles.
- Tag around with everyone!
- Profit like you live on a the back of a turtle!
- Maybe even reserve so you CAN live on the back of a turtle!
But wait, there's more! For the low, low price of $9,999.99, you can even use one of our handy prompts when you tag someone. You could even pick one with a Random Number Generator to help decide which prompt to go with!
- A Chance Meeting at the Turtle's Head.
Remember, being here causes a great sense of-- well, shall we say inner peace. - Haggling Over Something in the Marketplace!
Maybe someone else saw the exact same shiny thing you did at the exact same moment! However shall this be resolved? Remember: blood is extremely hard to scrub off of turtle shell! - Have Met Before? Because I Could've Sworn I've Seen You In My Dreams.
Have you wandered into the realm of Dreaming via an archway in Keeliai? Here, everything is shaped to your character's individual mind. Dreams can be shared between characters and will result in a meshing of minds. These dreams can be positive or negative, depending on your character. - Dramatic Chase Sequence!
You're running away from something! It could be anything, from a rampaging kirin to a gaggle of overly enthusiastic children, or even one of the newest editions to Keeliai's menagerie, an incredibly affectionate turtle the size of a minivan! One way or another, you can't stop, and much like a katamari ball, you feel obligated to grab everyone in your path along the way to keep them out of danger! Or perhaps you're more the sort to try and knock them into it as a distraction...? - Darker Days
Malicant's flexing his chaos muscle and causing havoc on the shell! You could run into some evil cultists in a dark alley, try to infiltrate the possessed palace, or work on hacking the console function back from the technopathic baddie. - WILDCARD!
Go nuts. Suddenly your character is fighting dragons! Good God, they've found the Millennium Falcon drifting in the ocean! Do you really feel the need to polish every paving stone in the Earth Sector? Please note, Wildcard options are also what you can choose to do if you aren't yet comfortable in the Tu Shanshu setting and would prefer a more 'dear-mun' esque experience. Please specify in your post!

[Okay that might be going it just a smidge too far. This kid already looks like a kicked dog after seeing that equation.]
I'll admit though, your father has... some talent with his other work. And you said you completed them?
no subject
[Only once he's done does he step back, slipping his hands into his pockets as he looks at the rest of the work on the board.] Some of them. Not all of them.
no subject
[Looks up at the remaining equations.] Like what?
[Reaches behind him to steady him as he leans back onto the table, and his hand brushes up against one of the webshooters. He looks behind him to see what it is, then picks it up out of curiosity.] Hmm? The shock's this? [Turns it over in his hands.]
no subject
[Peter's just about to point out the equation that ultimately turned into his webfluid when Miguel picks up his webshooter. His eyes widen slightly and suddenly Peter's feeling pretty awkward. It's not an easy thing to explain what they are to a total stranger.
Also- That's the oddest curse (?) he's ever heard in his life.]
That's- Uh. It's for dispensing a fast drying molecular adhesive.
no subject
[Come on, kid, keep up!]
For what kind of use? Medical? [Presses down on the trigger... and frowns when nothing happens.] It appears to be broken.
no subject
Oh, it's-- [That's not how it works, but he can roll with this.] It's still in progress. Some bugs to work out.
no subject
[Turns to look at Peter again, but gets distracted by the view.] That's... That's Manhattan. [Walks over to the glass to see if it's actually glass or just a very realistic vid of it.]
no subject
Yeah. I used to live there.

no subject
Been a while since you've gone there, huh? I know the feeling.
no subject
Say, what year was it when you left, kid?
no subject
2009.
[I think.]So... Are you from the past or the future?no subject
I'm from 2099. New York... hasn't looked like this in a long time.
no subject
I guess 90 years will do that.
...Are the cars flying yet?

[As he says it, flickers of his New York ("Nueva York" if you want to be fancy--even though next to no one calls it that) project itself over Peter's, blinking in and out like a film reel stuck in the projector. It disappears before ever fully coming into view.
Shoots him a look.] Why the shock would we be carrying hard drives all over the place?
no subject
They built... over New York? Like- Like buried New York and built on top of it?
[That question throws him for a second and he has to quickly wave it off.] Look, that was just- It was the first example that came to mind. Plus there could be, I dunno, computers sitting too close to a window while a maglev car flies by.
no subject
We have specific Maglev levels. You can't just drive a car off the street.
no subject
Okay, so no flying cars, but everything's maglev now, my New York is no longer the New York-- Please tell me we've had alien contact by now.
no subject
If we did, it's been buried. Research into E.T. makes the corporations skittish, so there's next to no research into E.T.s. A friend of mine researches E.T.s on the side, and she's convinced Earth was, how'd she put it... "once crawling with them."
And if you believe those nutter Thorites, Thor was a God. Then again, they're also convinced Spider-Man's a harbringer of Thor, so they're clearly off their rails.
no subject
...I also feel like I'm pretty sure I'd know whether or not I met an alien.

Sometime before your time and mine, there was a catastrophe and a lot of the information we had before then, especially the Heroic Age, got lost. Xina's working with what we saved, and whatever twencen junk she can find.
