TEST DRIVE MEME - TU SHANSHU EDITION!

Itching to try out writing a character? Then rev up your engines, grab your accounts, and slam your way into this meme! Here is a venue for you to try out whatever character there might be tickling your fancy, from fandom to OC, for as few as one and as many as MANY. Seriously, there's no limit.

How do you partake in this fantastic congregation of character testing? Why, by following these simple steps:

1. Comment with the journal of a character you want to test; put their name and canon in the subject line for added sparkles.
2. Tag around with everyone!
3. Profit like you live on a the back of a turtle!
4. Maybe even reserve so you CAN live on the back of a turtle!

1. A Chance Meeting at the Turtle's Head.
   Remember, being here causes a great sense of-- well, shall we say inner peace.
2. Haggling Over Something in the Marketplace!
   Maybe someone else saw the exact same shiny thing you did at the exact same moment! However shall this be resolved? Remember: blood is extremely hard to scrub off of turtle shell!
3. Have Met Before? Because I Could've Sworn I've Seen You In My Dreams.
   Have you wandered into the realm of Dreaming via an archway in Keeliai? Here, everything is shaped to your character's individual mind. Dreams can be shared between characters and will result in a meshing of minds. These dreams can be positive or negative, depending on your character.
4. Dramatic Chase Sequence!
   You're running away from something! It could be anything, from a rampaging kirin to a gaggle of overly enthusiastic children, or even one of the newest editions to Keeliai's menagerie, an incredibly affectionate turtle the size of a minivan! One way or another, you can't stop, and much like a katamari ball, you feel obligated to grab everyone in your path along the way to keep them out of danger! Or perhaps you're more the sort to try and knock them into it as a distraction...?
5. Darker Days
   Malicant's flexing his chaos muscle and causing havoc on the shell! You could run into some evil cultists in a dark alley, try to infiltrate the possessed palace, or work on hacking the console function back from the technopathic baddie.
6. WILDCARD!
   Go nuts. Suddenly your character is fighting dragons! Good God, they've found the Millennium Falcon drifting in the ocean! Do you really feel the need to polish every paving stone in the Earth Sector? Please note, Wildcard options are also what you can choose to do if you aren't yet comfortable in the Tu Shanshu setting and would prefer a more 'dear-mun' esque experience. Please specify in your post!

No, she- She's a mutant, but- Look, I'm just saying I didn't have any reason to not believe him. [It helps that Thor was totally nice to him. Voted for him to be trained and all that.]

...How is that-- Why is that a dirty word? Do people not get shocked by anything in the future?

"Shock." It's just- I don't get how saying "shock" a lot gives you a dirty mouth.

Well, when people say not-so-nice words, people say that they have a dirty mouth. What's so hard to understand about that?

[Looks out the window in time to see Spider-Man swinging past the window... though it looks like half Peter's costume, half Miguel's.] What the--?

No no- Why is "shock" a bad word? People say it all the time. "That movie shocked me!" "I get an electric shock when I put my finger in the socket." "I am shocked and appalled by that accusation!"

[And as that Spider-Man goes swinging by...] And you're totally shocked to see Spidey in the neighborhood!

Right, like it makes so much more sense to turn bodily functions into dirty words.

That's hardly the first time I've seen Spider-Man. I just thought that was an... interesting... costume.

... Okay, you've got a point there.

[Peter looks out the window as well, catching a glimpse. Out there is Mi-- Wait. What the what?]

Whoa... Neither have I...

I'm... familiar... with both of those costumes, but why together?

[Peter just shrugs helplessly.] I... have no idea.

What's the deal with that other costume? It looks all... glowy.

[ofthefuture]

You mean the light byte cloth? It helps to glide on the air currents.

I-I mean from what I've seen.

[nerdylilspidey]

[He looks back over at Miguel with wide eyes.]

...So that's... future Spidey. 2099 Spidey. The one you know.

He can... fly?

Well I wouldn't say I know him personally.... [Lying.]

But no, he can glide. Swinging is--looks like a lot of work. It... seems to be a shortcut between buildings.

Oh, uh- I never said you did. Know him personally, I mean. Um. Yeah.

But, yeah, gliding must be- I mean, I'd guess it'd be useful. For that.

The Thorites use them as gliders all the time. The nutters. [Thanks for the fabric, Thorite.]

But why are you so interested in gliding through the air? You don't strike me as the daredevil type.

[Crap. Uh--]

Well- Lots of people wonder what that must be like. Don't you?

Then- So then why do you know so much about this kind of stuff?

Because where I'm from Spider-Man is kind of a big deal.

And I'm a scientist.

[Scratches his arm and accidentally scratches a spinerrete. Please don't notice the small spot of webbing on the floor now. Shock. He quickly steps on it.]

[For a second that just- amazes him. 90 years into the future, and Spider-Man is still a big deal. Wow.

But it's not enough to distract him from hearing an all too familiar sort of "thwip" sound. Which gets Peter turning his head in the direction he heard it from, just in time to see a speck of familiar-looking material getting covered up by Miguel's foot.]

Was that-- Did you just--?

What are you going on about? [Miggy's at least a slightly better actor than Peter.]

[Hey, Peter's only 16.]

Just now, you just- You just hid something with your foot.

[ofthefuture]

[Curls his toes and uses his talons to scrape free of the webbing and lifts his foot hoping that it all stays on his shoe and not the floor.]

Step on what?

[Peter looks back down at the floor and points - AHA!! - both at a speck of webbing that has remained on the floor, and at the few threads that seem to be attached to the bottom of his feet.]

That! That's webbing, I'd know it anywhere! [And then he looks up at Miguel with wide eyes.] You're-- You're--

[ofthefuture]

Aw, shock.

[Sighs.] Fine, I'm the Spider-Man of 2099, at your service.

Wait a second. How do you know about webbing?
