Memory Share Plot!

This is to let everyone know about about a small plot that will be starting soon.

Starting February 8 and ending on February 12, there will be something odd going on. Get in close proximity to another character or touch them, and your character might find themselves viewing a moment from their past.

Feel free to use this post for plotting or questions.

Oh what the hell, let's give one of my secretive characters a kick in the seat. >:3

So yes, who wants to poke around in my retired cranky CIA man's head? For examples, we have:

- memories of his time in Vietnam, including the time he hiked through thirty miles of hostile jungle at night and arrived at base asking for bourbon!
- stepping on a landmine! (y'all wonder how he got that prosthetic foot? THIS INFORMATION CAN BE YOURS!)
- his best friend's wife and kids being strafed by a plane in Cambodia! BECAUSE I HEADCANON THAT HE WAS IN THE HOUSE FOR THIS!
- thinking that his best friend had been undercover for so long he turned traitor, and subsequently trying to kill him, later realizing OH SHIT I FUCKED UUUUPPPPPPP
- his five-year descent into alcoholism! (And how Jason Bourne kicking down his door one evening asking where the hell his wife was got him to go sober!)
- LITERALLY SETTING A FIRE IN THE STREET ACROSS FROM THE US EMBASSY TO GET THEM TO PAY ATTENTION TO HIM
- his other best friend getting kidnapped and tortured and how he blames himself for it
- watching his other best friend go through regression hypnotherapy to figure out just what he told his captors while drugged up, because when Mo starts screaming Alex literally collapses because he's in love

In return, I'm thinking maybe the time Conan got involved with helping a CIA NOC agent keep her cover.

And yes, the jungle thing is canon. Not headcanon. Canon. These books have a lot of nightmare fuel and also some greatness.

Yeah.... I don't know why both the FBI and CIA have agents running around Japan without permission from the government, but somehow Conan keeps getting involved in their problems.

They're...a product of their time, in some ways, and for some reason people keep trying to rape Marie, but in general the mindset is very progressive and the last book is an interesting look at the last days of the cold war (through a very very heavy thriller filter). Also, aside from the broad strokes of the first book's plot? Not a damn thing like the movies.
