Aloha turtle goers! Shane here with offerings of plot and hopefully other good things.

So Hawke has had just about enough of the speculations and all the hush hush circulating around the city. Now it's time for action, and more importantly, answers! In his infinite wisdom, he thinks the best way to go about this is to just get in the man's face and confront him to see just whose side he's on. Subtlety is not his forte folks. He never put that many point into that specialization.

But he's not doing this alone! At least, he does't want to do it alone. Backup is always good to have when you're doing something crazy. The log will take place this weekend, August 16-17. On Friday I will put up a forward dated post with Hawke that will get everything started. That way there will be time for so IC discussion before things kick off.

Anyone and everyone is free to get involved! The more the merrier I say!

If anyone has any questions or ideas they want to discuss just post them here. I'll place some headers in the comments.

So after some planning, Evandau will be lured to Anton's Midnight Hotel to act as sort of a neutral ground. Once there the characters will attempt to have a "talk" with the Emperor. Should things devolve into violence or Evandau just leave without discussion, things will be taken to the streets where Septimus will publicly demand he step down from his position. Should he refuse, well, force is always an option.

An IC planning post will take place during the week giving characters a chance to plan and word to spread.

Atta boy Akito, but I don't think Quintus will be happy about any of this.

Enjolras, after talking with River, is really pissed and really wants some answers. He's also gained some light healing skills and improved his fencing due to the last landfall. AND he can make light appear as that gift from Asti, and has a lightning charm from Christmas. He'd very much want to use some of this while confronting Evandu, if he needed to.

Hawke really hopes to accomplish this without blood being spilled. He's an optimist like that. Then again, he never was that great at diplomacy in the first place.

At least Enjolras has something exciting to write about in the paper no matter what happens!

This is definitely true! Good stories all the way! I COULD also have him simply tag along to observe. He'd definitely want to print The Truth and all.

Wan will want to come.

There's a few thing Hawke is very interested at the moment. First of which being just what the hell Evandau is doing and why is he doing it. Another is information about the Vilii who seem to be the cause of this whole mess. Finally he wants to know why Evandau isn't speaking to Asti and what's going on with that.

He also might be looking to tweak the dear emperor's nose a bit because he's an adult like that. Hawke also half expects that he might 'go missing' should things go sour.

Dante is interested in why exactly the city is collectively sitting on their hands regarding the mission literally summoned to do gosh darnit, but I'm not sure he'll be of much use. He's a good bit of dumb muscle and is pretty good at making a scene, but he's not a negotiator or schemer, and neither pretends nor wants to be either of those things.

If he wants to take part he's more than welcome to. I'm not going to exclude anyone from this and if things go bad it's always nice to have that bit of muscle around.

In Clark's post here Anton is going to go to Clark and possibly Septimus with the idea of using the Midnight Hotel as an ambush point. He'll also mention it to Skulduggery.

Anton's plan: He has a solid reputation among the gangs already. He puts out the word that he's willing to house and protect Dust-users and sellers, to get them to congregate in the Hotel. If Evandau wants to target any of them, it means he has to come to the Hotel to do it, and that means they can get him in a place of their choosing.

Pros: The Hotel has wards which can bind magic and prevent firearms from working, and is solid internally so it's hard to physically damage. It's a good place for a fight where they'll have the upper hand in numberss.

Cons: Anton has a strict no-violence policy. If anyone attacks or harms Evandau without Evandau making the first violent move, Anton will fight them on Evandau's behalf. Basically, unless Evandau makes the first move, it has to be a peaceful meeting. It also means that if he turns around to leave, Anton will stop anyone from stopping him. (However, that's only inside the Hotel. Once Evandau has left the Hotel he's free game.)

Skulduggery would push for this too, but it might be a good idea if the only people who participated are people who wouldn't make that first violent move.

Of course, people who are skilled in defending themselves are welcome too...

Skulduggery would be getting all up in this business, and he's a natural born leader/negotiator/schemer. He won't claim leadership right away or anything - in fact, he'll avoid it - but he would also want to solve this with as little bloodshed as possible. He's potentially charismatic enough to convince other characters that it's the best option, and if we do use Anton's Hotel as a location, he's happy to warn everyone involved about Anton's strict no-violence policy as well.

Given the edit, here's a new commentary.

Should things take to the street, Enjolras DOES have significant barricade building ability. I could see him working to get significant areas blocked so that Evandu and any supporters don't get through.

By which I mean, I could see him instructing key people in the group on how to block off the street and in how barricades work, in case it's necessary, as a sort of briefing, so that, if there is an attempted escape, they can build things up rather quickly.

If it does take to the streets that could definitely be useful. Should Evandau leave the Hotel, Enjolras can watch an exit and already have barricades prepared just in case. That, or he could teach other characters involved how to do so. Or both!

That sounds like a good idea, re: prepared barricades just in case. And he'd definitely involve others in the setting up.

in general if y'all'd like a healer and/or a voice of logic Raine is definitely available.

She's not in confrontation mode for herself, still trying to get a more complete picture before she acts? But she is increasingly concerned about the status quo and what Evandau is and is not doing, so. If most everyone else seems set on doing a thing now, then it turns pretty solidly into a case of "I'll help, since I'd be worried about you otherwise."

For my own part, I'm not really sure what to do or where to start, but point me somewhere and I'm there.

Healers are always a good thing to have around especially if things turn ugly, and when do things like this ever not turn ugly?

Whaddayatalk, everything is clearly going to go just as planned :P

So token white mage available, and if you're looking specifically for people who aren't likely to make the first strike and can defend themselves as they implied up there, Raine probably fits the bill pretty well.

Nilin's right there with ya, Hawke. There's no way she's letting him do this alone, more so after the things she's found out.

Besides, someone's got to keep an eye on that beard and make sure it gets back safe and sound.

Hawke and his beard knew she could be counted on when things get crazy.

Consider all my characters signed up for this, especially if Sept's involved since Tavi and Clark kind of trust him a lot.

Huzzah! The more the merrier! And it's good to know there's a genuine superhero watching their back even if Hawke doesn't have a clue what that means.

Bucky's priority, now that Natasha's out of the picture, will be procuring information.

But if it comes to a fight, he'll help. Letting Malicant win just ain't on his list of priorities.

More information is good. The more they have the more they can accomplish. Hawke's partly doing this for more information. That and he wants to make sure Evandau doesn't get them all killed.

... I'm not sure that's even an option anymore? IDK.

Septimus was actually planning on doing this independently and calling him out on the network in public ahead of time. Like, personally, and very much from the point of view of someone trained for leadership being pissed at someone Doing It Wrong.

Septimus has been trying to organize people to fight without defying Evandau for a while. He's moving a step further. >_>

EDIT: I should add that as soon as I'm home from D&D he's going to send a set of people letters calling a meeting; after that last post of his, Hawke will be getting one.

Hellboy has already done this in the past, back when they were still allowed audiences with the Emperor. But it's been a while. They know more about this place than they used to, and Hellboy would be glad to have Hawke's back.

(He could also tell Hawke a thing or two about the Vili, if it came up in conversation.)

Man I am always up for more Hellboy and Hawke interactions. If Hellboy has anything to tell him about the time he tried Hawke would be more than happy to hear it.

He's not exactly being quiet about the Vili thing either. In fact he's telling as many people as he can in his most recent post, but I'd love to get them talking and scheming together somehow.

Hey, I'm new around here, but I'd love to get Valdis in on this. She won't fight unless it suits her goals, but she'd love to listen and watch as it will give her a good idea of the current mindset of the other foreigners.

And she's more than welcome to! If you'd like you can tag Hawke's newest post. He's willing to answer people's questions if they've got any. Of course he'll probably try to drag her into it as well lmao.
