June Missions!

Good morning, Chelonauts! Lis here, trying on Michelle Yeoh's face for the first time. It's a good fit. I like it.

I just wanted to give everybody a quick heads up that we'll be posting the June Mission Sign-Ups tomorrow, Monday the 9th. We're putting the final polish on the write-ups and everything will be revealed.

I also wanted to let everybody know that we're trying something a little different this month. I will personally be shepherding one of the missions, writing an NPC who will be fully involved in the movement of the story. We are also, as a whole mod team, going to be more deeply involved with the running of said missions, getting plot points out as fast as possible.

Basically, I'll be acting as your Dungeon Master. I have my D-20 all set up and everything. I'll be calculating THAC0 and shooting magic missile at the gazebo. There is a depleted uranium Beholder statue in my room right now. Can't move, being crushed by 11 hit-die aberration! (If anybody gets that reference, I'll be shocked.)

EDIT: Sorry, I made that sound like I was doing all the NPCs and all the missions. Too much wise-ass, not enough mod. Al and Kate and Li and I will ALL be very much involved with all the missions this month, and writing NPCs, etc.

Sadly, while I know what THAC0 is*, I don't get the reference, besides that I suspect it is players trying to (ab)use D&D's occasionally wonky physics engine.

* Which probably lets you set a reasonable minimum guess as to my age.

Oh, the long, glorious days of campaigns past, frustrated that my dice were laughing at my THAC0.

I will be all set to cast entangle. And then set it all on fire. (Shush it is not at all counter-productive why do you ask). Though then again this boy here is more a 4.0 swordmage--don't ask what level, you do not want to know.

Though, just as a warning, goblin bodies may be tossed onto traps to trigger them, dire rats will be dispatched with vehemence, and if I'm in the party your dice--and the dice of the rest of the party--will likely betray you horribly.

(She says while sorting out loot and what to buy with it in 3.5 campaign.)

I haven't actually tabletopped in FOREVER and I do miss it. I'm almost tempted to actually put dire rats in my mission now.

I am getting more and more tempted to try to figure out Sep's actual character build in D&D, but I am mostly convinced it is unreasonable. Maybe if I did it in GURPS. ...though it would still be unreasonable, in all probability.

Dire rats managed to come very close to killing my party in our first encounter. (Granted, level 1, but... still.)
