Okay now for Willow.

He was instantly attracted to her because of the magic thing at first. She also sounds immensely vulnerable to someone like him, and she seems like the perfect victim. She obviously wants positive regard and acknowledgement from others, and he's capable of offering that in a very convincing manner. He just planned on investigating the possibility of using her kind of as his replacement for Billy from canon, but what he didn't expect was that she really wants to like him. He didn't have to launch a murderous multidimensional eldritch horror at her in order to get her to work with him.

He's not comfortable with the idea of friendship like the sort that she just offered to him. He wants it to just be a natural outcropping of using her to get something that he wants, but it isn't. He didn't make it happen, and he knows it. It's enough out of his control that it scares him because he can't justify it.

More than that, she takes care of him in certain ways. He doesn't quite understand where she's coming from or how familiar she is with dealing with crazy supernatural beings, but I think it'd freak him out even if he did know. She recognizes when he's upset or getting himself into trouble when she's around to see it, and she intercedes. More than that, even if she doesn't like it, she respects his autonomy when he pulls away.

He's so lonely so much of the time, and she doesn't let him be even though he's entirely aware it's just because she doesn't understand what he is. He's still an awful enough person to use her to accomplish his goals, but I don't think he'd be willing to let anything happen to her in the process at this point if he can at all help it.

She's rather landed in the "people Loki would straight up murder someone for" category. Despite his lack of compunctions about murder, that's a very exclusive category.

Frankly, Booker does not understand his feelings for this girl. He just doesn't. Because sure, he feels protective of her, but a) he honestly didn't think he was capable of feeling that way about another person anymore, and b) it goes way beyond "oh she's a cute girl who doesn't deserve what's happened to her". I mean, Booker loves this kid. In a short period of time, she's gone from being a complete stranger who he has to get to New York to clear his debts to the freaking center of his existence - he'd die for her, if it meant she would have a better life.

That is such a new feeling for him. And yeah, her power scares him, but that feeling scares him even more, tbh.

Alright so right now Orion doesn't even want to believe this is Shockwave he's dealing with, in the flesh and blood, so to speak. On one hand - he's ecstatic thinking this is some warped way to get closure and somehow prevent the inevitable because comis and time fuckery go hand in hand? On the other he can't allow himself to think this is closure and bitterly decries it as pointless self-indulgence in with a lot of "what could have been"s attached to it.

The fact he doesn't trust humans, or rather his species around humans, puts him in a difficult enough position as it is just herding cats between doing what's right and not doing anything at all as a precaution. Shockwave being a hideous enabler is slowly dragging him out of that shell, but because he's Orion he doesn't think either of them really deserve this chance.

Miranda does NOT approve of sheppers new playmates because they're complete unknowns and miranda is a possessive weirdo that doesn't like making space in their super secret shepper club house

of course she's going to respect sheppers decisions ultimately and just go with it while dragging her feet and doing her shady business on the side because thEY HAVE A WAR TO WIN WHEN THEY GET HOME

Eponine's family situation is so messed up, but having another little sister sort around like Midii will seriously do her some good. She likes the girl. So I hope they get to hang out more, for stories and general fun.

Eponine sees Midii as a sort of possible little-sister figure. She likes talking to her, and is incredibly intrigued by her. The fact that she offered to read with her is absolutely mind-blowing to Eponine, and she values that. She had viewed the turtle as a second chance to be a real big sister to Gavroche, and believes she failed, so now, she has hopes that she will succeed in Midii. Besides, the girl is so quiet and sweet, and she's just really fascinated by her.

I would love for the two of them to spend more time together. Maybe they could even grow close enough to talk about things.

he'll never admit this but sabriel is special to him for a bunch of reasons. she gave him what his world never did and that was an alternative to his hang ups about bending and his own self-loathing that came with the binding. at first he hated the idea of someone getting the drop on him but the fact it forced him to do some navel gazing found it a relief to have the choice (read: burden) of his bloodbending removed entirely, and in some warped way that gave him some weird sense of peace

while he values her insight and finds her experiences with death interesting he question her at every turn and think she's got more to learn before she just goes splashing random people with water. also one thing he does NOT like about sabriel is her total underestimation of Badass Normals and is convinced it's going to bite her in the ass sooner now than later? he's secretly hoping he'll just be there to stop it from getting out of hand (and chewing her out for it)

also he's avoiding coming across as too inappropriate when interacting with because MARIUS HAS A GIANT FUCKING MOUTH

Sweet...well...Eponine really hasn't had an opportunity to see any other side of her.

So somewhere along the lines, Elizabeth started to love Booker. Which is really a huge big deal because she's never experienced it. But the natural way their bickering turned into genuine worry and care? I think the first time she really fully processed how much she cared about him was when she told him that she wanted him to kill her, if Songbird got to her. Because that is such an expression of trust.

Elizabeth is a Disney Princess. But she's a very smart one, and there is just something t h e r e with Booker (we know that it's the fact that he's her dad, but shh) and she's drawn to him. At one point, she did probably consider a romance, but laughed it off, because that guy's old and what even, plus, he had a daughter and a wife, and it's 1912, but she doesn't want to go there. Too much baggage.

He's her best friend. He's her brother. And he really is her father.
