Hello, chelonauts! This is just what it says on the tin, Tu Shanshu's third CR meme! When plotting out any CR potential, please be as specific as you can! 'Our characters should go for coffee next week' is going to help establish an idea of what sort of CR you're looking for better than 'omg tag me.'
This month, we're even mixing it up a little and offering a chance to pre-plan for the next two mod-run events! Summaries of each event are outlined below to give you an idea of what CR you might want to pursue. Note that these events will have their own OOC planning post closer to launch date, but here's a chance to start hashing things out! :3
The Haunting of Keeliai:Starting October 24th and concluding October 31st, the city of Keeliai will be having a bit of a ghost problem. All over the sectors, residents may notice flickering manifestions of kedan that, on closer look, are nothing more than apparitions going about what appears to have been their daily grind during life. Many of these ghosts are harmless and will not react to stimuli, but there are a few with stronger presences that may act as poltergists. This happens mainly in the suites, where some of the kedan that helped construct them return as ghosts, banging on walls and shifting furniture to make space for whatever project they'd been working on in life.
Participation in this event will be strictly optional, so if you don't what your character to have a close encounter of the ghost time, you don't have to! Those that do, feel free to dive straight into the creepy with ghost sightings or poltergist-style incidents. Ever tried to talk with the dead? Now might be an interesting time to try.
Landfall:Starting on November 1st and running for the entire month, the turtle is making Landfall! The dynamic of the IC gameplay is going to change a little around that time, as characters that are out and about on the land will only have 'cellphone' like devices that can only connect to one other device at a time. Not only that, but the farther people manage to go inland, the more 'nerfed' their powers and abilities will be! Something wicked this way comes...? Perhaps.
Either way, it's a month long event. As with the haunting, it's still a 'passive' sort of thing. Your characters can absolutely choose not to leave Tu Vishan! And really, who would blame them. Stepping from the turtle onto the continent – which looks like something out of 'if Dune were a horror novel' won't appeal to everyone. That said, it's going to be a great time to plot things out. Maybe your character wants to make a break for it? Maybe they want to take a team and scout for salvage? Or maybe they want to loot everyone's apartment while they're away?
Just a side note about the event pacing! While we'll be implementing new event pacing based on
this discussion and others, these two events were planned and scheduled prior to the suggestions. We decided to keep their scheduling as is, but are trying to provide increased plotting time to avoid hectic overlap. Starting in December, events will run longer and will have more 'recovery' time in between.
