Hello, chelonauts! We're back again, ready for 2013's first CR meme!

As usual, when plotting out any CR potential, please be as specific as you can! 'Our characters should go for coffee next week' is going to help establish an idea of what sort of CR you're looking for better than 'omg tag me.'

Mind that the form's a bit different this month, including two new sections titled "Current Status" for a summary of what your character's been up to and "CR Goals" for the plotting and discussion of gaps in your character's CR spectrum that you would like to fill!

We are in the final countdown for the start of the Turtle Diving Event, which will start with a leisurely tour of the ocean floor followed by a course of zombies. A section has been added to the form to include any specific plotting or for you to put links to your plotting threads on the plotting post.

CHARACTER: Favrielle no Eglantine
CANON: Kushiel's Legacy
PERSONALITY: While canonly Favrielle's been known to sharp and judgmental, her time in Keeliai has proven to mellow her out somewhat. A great deal of that harshness was attributed to her baggage with being permanently scarred and seen as flawed goods, thus changing the path of her life permanently, that same scar means little, if not nothing to those here. The lack of pressure has allowed her to meet and interact with people more neutrally to start. Only those whose personality or manners grate on her, or somehow offend her personally may find she has a prickly nature. Those who interact with her on a business level will find her professional, and see signs of confidence and arrogance, earned and deserved in her opinion. Being D'Angeline, of course, she does have a soft spot when it comes to matters of love, romance, and things of beauty, it can just take some time to get to it.
CURRENT STATUS: Wellllllll Favrielle as of recently held the event of the year with the Midwinter Masquerade. It was lovely and beautiful and everything she could have hoped for. This month sees her getting back to work with her regular work.
CR GOALS: With Favrielle my goals are almost always simply character development and CR development. I love building relationships with her, having her explore the setting, etc.
SCENE-DOS: Slice of life is fine when in tandem with conversation that is more than idle. Rescue scenes are great to plot out. Talks involving matters of the heart or sex are always great for her as a D'Angeline. Flirting, shippy stuff and more is aaaaalways welcome.
SCENE-DON'TS: Hurt/Comfort should always be cleared with me in advance, especially if my character would be put in a position to have to comfort someone who is under emotional distress. Scenes involving physical hurt are a-ok, however. Slice of life scenes that seem to be going no where are not preferred, and if threads drag on too long I can get a bit antsy unless the thread is of extreme importance to one or both characters involved.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: Uuuhm Favrielle's plotting thread is here. I think general plans for her is to have her stay safe in her place and hole up with her neighbors.
ADDITIONAL: Favrielle is always available for commissions. You're welcome to say Favrielle made any and all clothes your character wears! However if you're unsure of whether or not she'd be able to do something specific, feel free to ping me here and I'll be happy to hash things out!

CHARACTER: James "Logan" Howlett | Wolverine
CANON: X-Men films
PERSONALITY: Logan is a grumpy mutant with a big grudge against his older brother for killing his girlfriend. He adopts teenage girls, so this can be a thing. He doesnt play well with others and holds a grudge like a champion. So it's easy to get on his bad side and even easier to stay there.
SCENE-DOS: WActionspam is the best way to keep my interest up. I can do prose, no problem, but I'm kind of slow about it and my interest will wane if the thread drags on. I like bromances, romances, friendships, enemyships. Just about any kind of relationship you can toss at me, I want.
SCENE-DON'TS: Mmm. I don't have many limits. I mean I'll try anything once. Slice-of-life kind of bores me if there's no point to the thread. But other than that, hit me with whatever you've got.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: Logan at the plotting post.

I feel like Astrid would like Logan for at least being very unpretentious and not prone to saying things he didn't mean. Given that she tends to take people at face value since subtlety is not something she is able to grasp, at least until she knows you very well.

CHARACTER: Namorita
CANON: Marvel 616
PERSONALITY: The blunt instrument of friendliness. She comes off as a big sister with younger people, and as a little sister with older ones. Also she is a fish-princess.
CR GOALS: Befriend ALL the people. No, seriously, unless you're obviously an irredeemable villain, Nita will at least try to make friends with you.
SCENE-DOS: Scenes with some kind of goal are good, generally. I'm faster at action than prose.
SCENE-DON'TS: I tend not to like wholly negative CR, especially with Nita, because she's just not good at it and it's not fun to write.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: Nita is going swimming and she and her neighbors are going to turn WA-3A into an emergency shelter.
ADDITIONAL: Nita has Deep Trauma that she's not really talking about. She'll recover, because she's nothing if not resilient, but some of the cheer is a facade.

CHARACTER: Morwen
CANON: Enchanted Forest Chronicles
PERSONALITY: No-nonsense witch. She's one of the heroes, but if you are being an idiot, boy howdy will she let you know. Likes helping.
CURRENT STATUS: Utter failure on player's part to integrate character into game.
CR GOALS: At this point, having CR would be cool.
SCENE-DOS: Morwen pretty much only wants to deal with people if they need her help or she finds the conversation interesting. She'll hang up/leave on anyone wasting her time.
SCENE-DON'TS: She'll shut down trolling utterly, and won't argue, so the thread has to be substantiative. Negative CR is unlikely to take unless it's something where they're forced to be together, because otherwise she just won't interact with someone she doesn't like.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: Haha what are plans?
ADDITIONAL: I have entirely failed at getting Morwen into the game, and in typing up this entry, I think I've figured out why. She's very, very goal-oriented, and thus isn't the type to make the kind of smalltalk that's easy to come by in DW-style RP. So I need to plan threads out in advance, or tag into network posts she finds interesting. And get over my /facepalm at myself for not doing anything with her for a month and a half. Nita is stupidly easy to go out and get CR with; Morwen is the opposite.

CHARACTER: Dorian Gray (depicted
CANON: The Confessions of Dorian Gray
PERSONALITY: Hedonistic immortal antihero. He is selfish, self-centred, vain, arrogant, and amoral, just to start on his bad traits. But he is also an aesthete who loves beauty, learning, and mysteries, and he can be kind when it suits him. He soaks up experience like a sponge and is a total sensation junkie. He likes meeting new people, trying new things! He is also very attracted to the supernatural. His personality is very mercurial, so he might go 19th century charming gentleman on one person and 21st century callous bastard on another.
CURRENT STATUS: He is still settling, though he has begun to pick up people of whom he is fond. Also, he definitely needs to have something to do with himself. He is purposeless. It sucks.
CR GOALS: Develop CR for sure, deepening the relationships he has (for better for worse) but new CR would be great too of course. Very open to both negative and positive CR. He tends to deserve the former a lot anyway.
SCENE-DOS: I find I tend to prefer face-to-face, though network is workable. I am into all the genres!
SCENE-DON'TS: Not many? Especially for Dorian, he is pretty much available for the full gamut of human (and inhuman) experience.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: I'd like to find a way to get him involved. He only does that when there's something in it for him, which means he tends to need things to be immediate to him (emotionally or physically) or the incentive is in a group or person he has decided to be invested in wanting it done. Also: he personally will be unaffected by the zombies. They will bite him, make "ew gross" faces, and leave him alone, because no soul to nom. He will grumble about ruined clothes and how other undead creatures found him very delicious, thanks very much.

CHARACTER: Zatanna Zatara
CANON: Young Justice

PERSONALITY: This particular 14-year-old is sassy, adventurous, and flirty all wrapped up in a tiny package. She has a certain wanderlust for life, and will often do things just for the sake of relieving boredom. However, she is also incredibly loyal to those she considers to be her friends and allies, and has a strong sense of justice and doing what is right. Because her father was is a Hero (SCREW YOU, FATE), and while she would never admit so aloud, she admires and respects him too much not to want to be one herself. Even if she occasionally has doubts when it comes to her powers....

CURRENT STATUS: Okay, let's see...Zatanna went to the Masquerade Ball with Dick--as a friend--and had a pretty good time. She then went out on a rooftop/treetop date with Robin later that night, and had an ever better time (though the whole of said date has yet to be fully played out, and not all of it will involve happy fluff). She connected with Annabeth, whom she discovered is also an Eva ally and has a pendant of her own. They're still working together to try and figure out what exactly Annabeth's does. Other gradually developing friendships include Kara, whom she went out on a girldate with (there was chocolate involved. it was awesome); Kon, whom she had a nice chat with about not flipping people over keeping secrets; Kyle, whom she took shopping and now owes her money; and Jack, who is slowly becoming one of her new best friends. Most recently, she lost Wally, which was sad, but also highly unsettling because it meant the Helmet of Fate was taken to the Emperor's storage. They refused to give it back to her when she made the request at court because they're all a bunch of jerkfaces, and now she's pissed and worried and then some.

CR GOALS: I suppose just further developing what she already has. Zatanna's developed a lot of CR since she's joined the game, and some very interesting twists and turns have already begun to show potential.

SCENE-DOS: I tend to do fairly well in all of the above. Action or Prose, Network or Logs. Because Zatanna's a fairly social character...and one who tends to put on a casual front even when she's dealing with all the angst...it's usually easy enough to get her to strike up conversation.

SCENE-DON'TS: The only thing I ever hesitate on is anything age-inappropriate. She might be a mature 14-year-old, but she is still 14. That means usually discussion of certain topics is alright, but actually playing them out? N-O-P-E.

TURTLE DIVE EVENT: Zatanna has a special pendant that allows her to both breath/speak underwater, as well as survive extreme water pressure. I feel like this needs to be utilized in some way. One possible idea I keep floating around is having her rescue somebody from almost-drowning with it, and in the process almost drowning herself. Because there are times when she has a disturbingly low sense of self-preservation in the face of helping others. Then there's the whole mess with that one boy she's unofficially official with going and getting himself killed/zombified. Which...yeah....

CHARACTER: Kyle Rayner (Green Lantern)
CANON: DC Comics
PERSONALITY: Kyle is a pretty easygoing and amiable guy. He’s free-spirited, and curious, though he’s going to be very restless until he finds something to do/someone to help.
CURRENT STATUS: Zatanna took him shopping, he caught up with Jason and Superboy, and now he’s just poking around, looking for a job, and possibly a way off this turtle.
CR GOALS: All CR is new: he’s only just arrived; I am personally very fond of cross-canon CR. Come at me bro :3
SCENE-DOS: I’m good with all though I’d like to keep drama and angst to a minimum until Kyle settles in properly. He prefers interacting face-to-face. I tend to tag faster if it’s actionspam but otherwise I have no preference. It’s all good!
SCENE-DON'TS: I don’t mind slice of life but I lose interest if it doesn’t have an end goal.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: Kyle will be your local glowing green Ghostbuster.

CANON: Inception
PERSONALITY: Inquisitive, intelligent, friendly (for the most part), at times idealistic, caring and maybe even overly caring for those she might consider close friends. She’s also perhaps at times a bit defensive and maybe even hypocritical. So basically: she tends to make really shitty life choices, all while trying to learn how to adjust to her new environment.

Oh…and yeah, she thinks everyone here is a projection of someone’s subconscious. :/

CURRENT STATUS: Right now, Ariadne is basically gathering all the information that she can on this place, all while trying her best not to piss off the projections (locals).
CR GOALS: Contacts. Ariadne wants to meet as many people as she can and learn as much about them as she can in the process.
SCENE-DOS: Oh gosh, any and all (positive, negative, whatever) I really love slow build cr, so I’m really open to basically anything with her because to that. Seriously, I love watching how things will evolve for her here and how she will grow as a person. So I’m willing to toss her at just about anything to see what we can come up with. So if you really want a girl who is just digging in areas because she thinks it might help her understand things better, LET ME KNOW. I’m game for anything.
SCENE-DON'TS: I’m pretty flexible and I’m up for most things, so if something might make me meh, I will sure tell you.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: As much as I would love to have Ariadne helping everyone out, she thinks none of them are real, so she isn't going to be rushing to anyone's aid and will for the most part be doing all she can to stay alive herself. But I'm seriously up for anything when it comes to this event, so if you have any ideas, please toss them at me.

AS I SAID IN RESPONSE TO ARTHUR, Astrid does not yet have much information due to being brand new, but at home she specializes in taking in large amounts of data, finding patterns, pulling out important parts, and extrapolating probabilities from said data. In real-time. So she notices a lot and would at the very least be a good person to look for failure probabilities in a given situation given all the variables she's given, etc.

Arthur | Inception

CHARACTER: Arthur
CANON: Inception
PERSONALITY: A bit of a jack-of-all-trades, master of none kind of guy, Arthur is a meticulous planner, a good researcher, and has a military background. He's good at putting on a professional face when he needs to, and he doesn't like uncertainty. He's a longtime criminal and knows how to play all sides - he's used to dealing with white-collar, corporate types mostly, but he can "slum" it sometimes, too - he comes from a working-class background so he's adaptable.
CURRENT STATUS: Mostly working on building up a network of contacts, on both sides of the law, in order to get information! He could also be persuaded to get involved in some shadier activities, though he tries to avoid outright violence as much as possible. (Violence in dreams is okay, violence in the real world isn't as much fun.)
CR GOALS: Anyone who wants to be a contact for him would be great! He wants to get in with the prominent businesspeople around town, in particular, but anyone who seems like they might be a good source of information is fair game!
SCENE-DOS: I'm honestly good with just about anything, barring rape plots. I like it all, though in general Arthur is only going to talk to people if he thinks he can get useful information from them or something else that's worth his time - most of the people on the turtle he thinks are projections of someone's subconscious, so he's not looking to get emotionally involved with anyone (though of course, I absolutely am, it'll just take some time and communication OOCly!).
SCENE-DON'TS: Again, slice-of-life stuff, while I'm fine with it, probably isn't very viable with Arthur in general. But I'm not picky.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: Arthur will mostly be in self-preservation mode, making sure that Ariadne is safe first, then possibly taking the opportunity to go out and shoot some zombies because he could use the target practice (zombies aren't as scary when you think you're dreaming and know that death isn't permanent, after all!). If he runs into people who need help, or people who want to join in the target practice, that could be fun!
ADDITIONAL: That's about it for now! Again, long-term I'd love to get Arthur involved in some shady stuff, possibly even dreamsharing, but I want to limit the amount of NPC and handwaved CR this would require, so let me know if you have a character that might want to get involved with that stuff!

Astrid does not yet have any useful information, but she will almost definitely have some before too long - she specializes in real-time processing of HUGE amounts of data, to provide useful information and probabilities to the field teams she's working with. She notices a lot. She also has next to no normal social skills, but she's a sweetie so it balances out.

CHARACTER: Terrance Ward
CANON: Marvel 616
PERSONALITY: Altruistic, linefaced therapist boggart. Terry is all about the eyeliner and the soothing backpats and... coffee... (i'm so bad at this part) UM. He never smiles but 9/10 times he's pretty much the kindest person ever (the other 1/10 he is being really pissy at someone and then pretends he is incapable of losing his temper,) and is also known to be unreasonably sassy.
CURRENT STATUS: UM. Well since I spent a month just not being here at all I've fudged that Terry basically spent that time cleaning up a room in his boss' building and now he has a Therapy Space. So now he's got his Therapist Pants on, although after kind of blowing up at someone on his post he's kind of having to re-evaluate his approach. Also we're all just pretending that he is Completely Fine even though he hasn't been since he got here shhhhh.
CR GOALS: He will hug ALL OF THE TRAUMATIZED TEENS i swear to god i'm gonna make this happen if it kills me. Aside from that I'm pretty easy (though I do need the occasional nudge because I have the attention span and memory of a goldfish with retrograde amnesia.) He really could do with ~~friendship~~ atm but he's not good at that
SCENE-DOS: EVERYTHING???
SCENE-DON'TS: If a thread is sort of... aimless and going nowhere I tend to get pretty anxious about it, but aside from that I can't really think of anything.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: I threw up a thread here, but basically Terry's powers are gonna be giving him hell (sensing fears while people are freaking out? not fun) but he has no sense of self-preservation and a tendency to throw himself into dangerous situations without thinking it through (and a buttload of repressed anger) so he's gonna be all over, trying to help get people to safety

I have no idea if he and Astrid would get along, but Astrid REALLY LIKES COFFEE, so... uh...

Astrid is NOT a traumatized teen (she's almost 30! And only moderately traumatized by the change in location), but she could use friends to hug her. *nod*

She has a lot of fear atm but that's mostly because she really really REALLY doesn't deal with change well, and going from her home to the turtle is a HUGE FUCKING CHANGE and all. :3

Mat | Astrid Farnsworth

PERSONALITY: High-functioning end of the autism spectrum, not very good at "normal" social interaction, sweet, needs more friends, trusting, really bad at handling large changes
CURRENT STATUS: She just got here. Her goal is to create a routine for herself so that she can feel more comfortable with her existence. That's really all she's doing right now.
CR GOALS: Well, MORE DC CHARACTERS FEEDING HER would be hilarious and entirely not necessary. Looking for any sort of CR really. I am down with people thinking she's weird and not trying to cover it up to be polite or whatever. Also, she is extremely skilled at processing data she's provided with and finding connections/providing probabilities based on it - it would be cool to find someone who could use those skills so she doesn't feel aimless. Also more friends are always cool. :3
SCENE-DOS: I REALLY LIKE EVERYTHING. Astrid is slightly more awkward in person/not-in-text, but I don't mind her being awkward if you don't! I like angst, fluff, the works.
SCENE-DON'TS: Romance is a no-go without some SERIOUS CR buildup beforehand, and even then it would probably be more emotional than sexual because I see her as mostly asexual and not inclined towards romance but capable of feeling romantic feelings.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: I HAVE NO IDEA. It's gonna throw her off a bit, so there's that. She will NOT be fighting zombies, though - she is 100% non-combatant.
ADDITIONAL: Um.... I'm new and I like all CR?

Kiki | Damian Wayne and Bucky Barnes

CHARACTER: Bucky Barnes
CANON: Marvel Cinematic Universe
PERSONALITY: Outgoing, determined, ladies' man, and a little sharp, Bucky's an orphan from Brooklyn who grew up with the man who was to become Captain America, became a soldier (and part of a special team) during WWII, and then... fell off a train. He's also been around since August, and he's working hard on bridging up the information and technology gap. Also, Rikki, STOP THROWING CURVEBALLS AT HIM! (no, don't stop.)
CURRENT STATUS: Bucky has been learning hard - parkour from Rikki, technology from... everyone, about the future from Rikki and Steve and Steph and... well, most people, style from Favrielle, new styles of fighting (no guns) from Nita... He's tried to give back some of that, sharing knowledge with those who are from different worlds, too. He's been working a very mundane job (painting. Fences, houses, you name it) and trying to find out more about how to help the place. Oh, and quietly joining the night patrols, because there's reason to be protecting people. And he's been charming the ladies. Oh, and he's joining the underground fighting gig. And possibly going to do mischief with Arthur...
CR GOALS: I'm always up for doing new things, but I also love the CR that I've had with him so far. Basically, anything goes.
SCENE-DOS: I'm good with just about anything. Teach a 1940s soldier about modern things - and attitudes - sure. Those who are further behind learning from him or alongside? Sure. Spoiler him for what's to come... yep. Slice of life, action, romance, fighting, sadtimes, humor, positive CR, not-so-positive... You name it. I'll likely do it. Both action and prose are also absolutely fine.
SCENE-DON'TS: I'm not very fond of angst for angst's sake (some is absolutely fine, and all the more fun, just not... for the sake of it alone?) Most other things, let me know, and I'll likely be up for them!
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: When the zombies attack, Bucky will help get people to the palace and likely stay there. Still coming up with what shenanigans he might be up for while there, but. Plotting thread is here.

CHARACTER: Damian Wayne
CANON: DC Universe (Batman)
PERSONALITY: Eleven year old who was trained an assassin and raised to rule the world until he was ten. Not nice, but has been growing into mostly decent, and has a soft spot for children. And he's taken up his father's mission of protecting those who need protection well enough to heart. (Also very good at fighting and strategy and languages and music and art and decent-ish in detective work and tactics.) He may, on occasion, be a walking, talking trigger for child abuse.
CURRENT STATUS: Mmm. Getting to know some members of his family (like his father) better, coming to terms with some of the things about it. Getting a little closer with people, making a small number (but still surprising) of new friends, including Annabeth and Jack. He has been patrolling regularly as Robin, and also has been spending time learning from kedan children (since they are his biggest target of protection), including, slowly, the written language.
CR GOALS: Turning him into a real boy. ;) He's still... not one yet, and, as recent threads have highlighted, doesn't really think he should be... or deserves to be. That said, even with the setback of his Dick leaving, we're working in that direction. He's contrary and argumentative, so negative CR is easy (easier, really) and not unwelcome.
SCENE-DOS: Pretty much anything. Teaching Damian lessons (they don't have to be taught nicely either) is always a go, but far from limited to that. Seeking out/figuring clues about the situation, adventures, just about anything. (He's unlikely to subject easily to fluff, but it might be interesting.)
SCENE-DON'TS: The above comment re angst. Also, with Damian? No 'ships. Romance is highly unlikely anyway, but. You know. He's eleven.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: Damian will be a busy-busy ninja bird, fighting all them zombies. Also saving(ish) Zatanna from drowning, defending her while she recovers, and helping her push back zombie!YJ!Dick (then probably lugging the pieces of... the zombie to the necromancer to make sure none of Dick's awareness is left there.) Also probably watching Annabeth's back while she is examining things. Plotting thread is here.

PERSONALITY: One of the most stubborn people you will ever meet, but she tries not to be antagonistic about it. Steph is pretty friendly and inclined towards throwing herself at people and barraging them with her presence until they like her. She has a temper but tries to keep a lid on it mostly, and her hot buttons are p. much limited to messing with kids and/or her friends :V

CURRENT STATUS: She's been having a bit of a Vigilante Crisis, namely in that she's not sure if being a vigilante is really a good thing and if she's just fucking things up even more and making her life worse and encouraging kids to do shitty things

Unsurprisingly she's been a bit snappy lately.

Aside from that she's been slowly puttering away at this vigilante team thing (yes I realize these two things are kind of contradictory it makes sense if I could be bothered to tldr), but hasn't been doing much else since the masquerade because I'm only just starting to get back into RP things. (Sorry about that).

CR GOALS: I feel like I've neglected her current CR a bit, so that might be my focus this month. If anyone feels like their characters-who-are-friends-with-Steph haven't had enough of her in their lives, hit me up? Even if it's just to work out handwave interactions or something.

If anyone wants new CR or to work on developing CR I'm totally down with that, too.

SCENE-DOS: I'm cool with whatever! Network stuff can be a bit quicker, but I like actiony things too.
SCENE-DON'TS: I have a bit of a hard time with slice of life if the convo isn't like... intense, or if there isn't a purpose, but otherwise anything is pretty cool.

TURTLE DIVE EVENT: link I forgot to mention in that comment that Steph has some claustrophobia issues and while she'll still be out and about, she'll be a lot more tense than normal :V

CHARACTER: Kara Thrace
CANON: PERSONALITY: Kara is rowdy, rambunctious, a drinker, and wears her heart on her sleeve. She’s a flirt and tends to do this very openly, and she’s pretty damn loyal to her friends. She’s outgoing and friendly enough but pretty volatile when she’s crossed, and has a tendency to hit first, ask questions later. Or shoot first, but she’s saving her bullets.
CURRENT STATUS: Kara’s been settling in nicely in Tu. She had her own place in the Earth sector but when it burned, she shacked up with York over in Metal and just kinda stayed. She helped get people out of the fire and also might be doing a bit of vigilante work at night.
CR GOALS: I wouldn’t mind developing something new! I’m pretty open to anything, really. I like having Kara build relationships here; she’s seen a whole lot of bad shit happen in her canon and it’s pretty calm here compared to that. She knows she should want to go back more than she should.
SCENE-DOS: Most things are fine; Kara is kind of crap at comforting people unless you’ve got a bullet in you – she knows how to deal more with that than she does anything else.
SCENE-DON'TS: Too much slice of life and I can get a little fidgety, but I am a crazy backtagger and will just keep stubbornly tagging it until it dries up or we both finally go “yeah okay its done”.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: Her plotting thread is here, and I’m up for anything happening. She’ll probably be wanting to help people out if she can.

CHARACTER: Inara Serra
CANON: PERSONALITY: EVERYTHING YOU SEE IS A LIE. I mean. She’s really kind and compassionate (truth!), and tends to take a liking/maternal instinct to those younger than her (River, Kaylee) and is pretty well mannered and spoken. Unless you piss her off, then she can be a petty little thing /o/ (summarized personalities are hard for me :c)
CURRENT STATUS: Right now she’s trying to get on her feet and will soon be taking trips to the brothels to see how they work and functioning in conjunction with her companion training. She might look into opening a Firefly based Companion house here because honestly I don’t see her working for a regular brothel and I don’t see her giving up her work, either – she’s shown to actually LIKE her job, so! There’s that that might be happening.
CR GOALS: Basically just getting her settled, making new friends and acquaintances, networking, making connections, all that jazz.

ALSO. Inara is sick 8D She has a terminal illness that isn’t named, but I’ve narrowed it down to a few it could likely be, and I chose this one to deal with: B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). It’s a slow moving disease and one that is treatable but not curable. Her life expectancy is probably another several years unless it suddenly flares and decides to impact her quality of life. While she’s here, she’ll probably be casually asking around the apothecaries, etc and seeing if there’s any cure/treatment to stave it off if that happens, as well as prolong her life.

SCENE-DOS: Inara is flexible with her CR; her pettiness can be subtle and she’s also a pretty nice person when it comes down to it. She doesn’t care much for conflict
SCENE-DON'TS: Inara is basically a glorified prostitute, and yes – she has sex for money. Please please please do not ask her to take your character on as a client if there is a significant other involved (unless that SO SPECIFICALLY SAYS this is okay). I’ll say no, she’ll say no. It’s bad for her business and reputation to break up couples, and not something she is actively seeking to do – and I also don’t like playing that kind of thing out. She’ll be keeping an eye on who is with who as much as she can, just in case there are any perspective clients in the playerbase as opposed to the Kedan NPCs. As a rule of thumb (for me), she’ll probably be sticking to the Kedan as clients anyway – once she trusts them and gets to know some of them.

This doesn’t mean I’m not interested in her taking on other clients or doing shippy things with her! I love shippy things but but but she is probably not going to give up her work, and she’ll be hard to wrangle into a real relationship because of not only that, but also her disease. :c

CHARACTER: Logan
CANON: Fable 3
PERSONALITY: He tends to be a little stiff and pompous, because he's a king and kings have to behave a certain way. He's pretty reserved, well-mannered, and almost mild when he doesn't feel threatened, but he's also incredibly paranoid and has severe anxiety issues, as well as a lot of nervous tics. (There's a canon reason for all the fear which I won't go into a lot here, but basically there is a real thing he's afraid of, not just generalized anxiety, and you will hear about that thing a lot through narrative.) He does prefer company over being alone, although he ends up with a lot of alone time anyway. He basically never seeks out anything he wants or needs unless it's more for someone else's benefit than his.

So, yes, idk, I'm not good at summarizing, but ask me a question about how he'd react to something and I can probably answer it!
CURRENT STATUS: He's fresh out of the water, so still settling in!
CR GOALS: For this month I'd just like him to meet and start talking to as many people as possible. I'll probably post an open log or two for him at some point! Also, if anyone has a character who wants to mommy someone I would love to subject Logan to this for his bafflement, lolol.
SCENE-DOS: I prefer prose but I don't especially care. I'd really like to do some nice/cute/casual scenes with him (sob he needs it). Otherwise honestly pretty much anything not in don'ts, I'm still new so I WANT ALL THE THINGS.
SCENE-DON'TS: I would like to avoid anything seriously stressful or anxiety-inducing for Logan. He's going to be in a constant state of it already and writing panic attacks is not fun, lol. This will be relatively hard to hit on accidentally, I think? Telepathy and any kind of darkness or being immobilized come to mind as potential things. I'm not especially big on slice of life either but it can be fun if it's a little bit unusual or a first meeting or something.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: Basically, Logan is going to be Very Very Nervous when the turtle starts diving and might seek out people for comfort (in his own subconscious way -- he won't do it openly but he'll find excuses to be in crowds). The zombies showing up are going to FREAK HIM OUT for a little while and then he's going to go fuck this and start trying to kill them with his sword. He will realize he can't and run for cover, then start trying to think of ways to disable them, probably with a brainstorming network post? It would be cool if there's any kind of zombie fighting team he can end up being a part of!
ADDITIONAL: His icons suck. I will pay his account and get him more when I am less lazy.

PERSONALITY: Vengeance, the Night, Etc. Bruce is either a billionaire playboy philanthropist, a surly vigilante, a cagey mobster or a kindly anthropology professor at Yale depending on who you ask.
CURRENT STATUS: Currently going NOPE at everything and anything. Losing Lost Days!Era Jason hit him really hard and he's sort of done his classic Batman Emotional Withdrawal act because he's ... Bruce Wayne. So he's mostly keeping to the shadows and not doing a whole hell of a lot that isn't goal-oriented right now.
CR GOALS: Bruce needs in no particular order: pretty ladies to hit on, small children to adopt. He's not planning on telling his identity to anyone he doesn't have to and as of this moment the only non-canon person who's found out is Favrielle, whoops.
SCENE-DOS: I can do prose or actionspam both, though I prefer prose for things like emotionally charged scenes and actionspam for the more slice-of-lifey stuff. With Bruce, I can p. much do anything and everything in terms of genre so come at me bros.
SCENE-DON'TS: My only 'not sure if want' is romance. Bruce is not good at it, as evidenced by the fact that all of his love interests end up dead, crazy, dead and crazy, or they don't know his real identity for a decade.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: He'll be Batmanning it up. He'll probably do some direction of the superhero teams but he's going to work alone unless anyone wants to come across him and either help or be helped?


CHARACTER: Brandon Sharpe
CANON: Marvel 616
PERSONALITY: Tiny shaking purse dog almost-supervillain jackass douchebag with Serious Issues.
CURRENT STATUS: Brandon came out to Nita a while ago and has basically been in denial ever since since her reaction - while supportive - didn't exactly solve his moral conundrum of 'dating Stephanie Brown'. He's decided to act even more straight to balance it out because that's clearly the best thing ever.
CR GOALS: More than anything Brandon just needs people he can trust. Steph has been teaching him to be a decent friend and even though he's still selfish and extremely self-centred he's been making more of an effort to actually... reach out to people if he thinks he can help them. Albeit he does it in the most douchebaggy way possible.
SCENE-DOS: Anything goes with Brandon more or less.
SCENE-DON'TS: Ditto the above.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: If he can stop hyperventilating about potential death for three seconds he could probably be talked into going out into the ocean since he can use electromagnetic shields. However there would have to be one hell of a reason for him to do so. Otherwise he'll just fry zombies. TEEN VIGILANTE TEAM GO.


CHARACTER: Aisha al-Fadhil
CANON: The Losers
PERSONALITY: The Terminator. No really. Also she is extremely anti-America because fuck flags and crying eagles man.
CURRENT STATUS: Aisha is an extremely insular person, she doesn't really gaf about the network and she spends most of her time being a super spy (she's like. a quadruple agent back home) and not really interacting with people unless it's necessary. That said I am trying to shove her into more things because she's a good antagonistic foil for a lot of the more ~idealist~ characters.
CR GOALS: Honestly I just want her to get to the point of being non-hostile with a few people. She's capable of it I swear! It just. Takes time.
SCENE-DOS: Action! Antagonism, conflict. That sort of thing. She's a baseline human but she's exceptionally well trained. She has a soft spot for women and tends to be more relaxed around them as well so CR with ladies is a good thing.
SCENE-DON'TS: She doesn't really lend herself well to fluff or comedy.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: She'll probably get herself killed because baseline human fighting zombies what. Not that she'd... care...

Brandon... somehow I doubt that the trusting thing will work out easily with Damian (though you never know), but. There's ol' zombie hotpants here.

CHARACTER: Jack Frost
CANON: Rise of the Guardians
PERSONALITY: He's a pretty happy go lucky guy who acts younger than 17 and way younger than 317. He loves kids and spends most of his day hanging out with the kedan children, making treats for them and teaching them how utterly awesome snow days are going to be. With the kedan adults, he's only able to be seen by about half of them, but he's adapting. Around the other foreigners, he's pretty eager to make friends his own age.
CURRENT STATUS: Jack has been trying to get a job like he's supposed to but being invisible to half of the hiring population is tricky. Tony Stark is currently the front runner for offering him a job, despite a few icy quirks because Pepper is amazing like that. Ideally I'd like to get him something to do with deliveries so he can fly around the city and get paid for it, lmao.
CR GOALS: GIVE ME ALL THE CR PLZ seriously Jack will talk to anyone (or at least try, if they can see him!) so come make friends. Or not be able to see him and wonder what the heck is going on. (I'm actually interested in exploring more of people not being able to see him, because he can communicate in other ways which may or may not freak people out like Katniss) plus he needs to start using some snow glitter on people because LOL.
SCENE-DOS: Absolutely anything. No, really.
SCENE-DON'TS: The only thing I shy away from is pure crack (like the really outrageous stuff like meme scenarios) and there's not much of that happening in game, so yeah, basically anything. Angst, humour, negative CR, random encounters, I'm open for all of it.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: PLOTTING LINK but basically Jack will be freezing all the zombies and shepherding all the people to safety. And probably some minor freaking out about the underwater thing at first, and then some more if he finds out some of his friends are getting nom'd. He has no specific meetups planned (other than poss. Bucky at the palace) so I'm open for shenanigans.
ADDITIONAL:

CHARACTER: Death the Kid
CANON: Soul Eater
PERSONALITY: Pretty straight-laced and serious, usually deadpan (see what I did there)
CURRENT STATUS: He's been working a (off-camera) cleaning job that I plan to have in his next post, basically he just hires himself out to anyone who will let him inflict his peculiar brand of "tidy" on their residence. Other than that, just trying to learn about life on the turtle, particularly the history and what's led to the current tensions -- living in the Metal sector he sees a lot of the gangs' influence. Also he hasn't had a proper symmetry freakout since being here so that's definitely on my short list of soon-to-happen goals. :D
CR GOALS: As redundant as it sounds, ANYTHING. Kid doesn't get out there as much as Jack does so I'd like to get him into some situations where he can't do his "lone reaper" thing all the time.
SCENE-DOS: No preference, it's all good!
SCENE-DON'TS: Not a don't per se, but if your character intends to pick on his symmetry obsession (ie; purposely try and get him to lose it) please give me a heads-up. I still definitely want the CR but I want to make sure each reaction isn't a copy of the last one (because that would be boring).
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: SAME PLOTTING LINK, Kid will be beating up zombies all over the place~ he's teaming up with both Damian and Leonardo at various points but other characters are still welcome!

CURRENT STATUS: Has finally settled into "okay this is really happening" and wants to get down to Scoobying out What's Really Going On. I really should have tagged the recent plot log but I was a hung over moron this weekend
CR GOALS:Since I'm still getting my feet wet, meeting some new friends and expanding on the threads I've already done is on the list. As is necro-tagging.
SCENE-DOS: I'm up for pretty much most things; I would really love to do some actiony stuff with Elena at some point because she does run around, shoot things and punch jerks in the face.

CURRENT STATUS: Santo has been pretty chill on the turtle lately. He's been taking part in the underground fighting stuff (with mixed results) and exploring the city in his free time. He's done the vigilante hero thing a few times, but has been kind of lax about it really. He's mostly been trying to get to know people and not piss them off, especially after his last post.
CR GOALS: I want ALL the CR, both old and new. Santo needs some friends, and while he's working on that with a few awesome people, he really needs someone to pull him out of his big tough idiot defense.
SCENE-DOS: Jeez, I'm really looking for anything and everything right now. I prefer action spam over prose (because of my tight schedule), but I'm totally flexible and willing to accommodate and play style

PERSONALITY: Kara is sweet but mistrustful and incredibly curious. She comes from a culture that values science, facts, and control over the environment (that may or may not have led to the planet's destruction).
CURRENT STATUS: Kara has gone from trying to deal with the loss of her planet and family to thinking of it all as something far, far away. This is good in that she is getting along with Clark most of the time, learning to control her powers, and generally feeling well-adjusted.

This is bad because it is not well-adjusted at all.
CR GOALS: More friends! More everything, honestly, Kara has the potential to get into really negative relationships with people if she feels betrayed or threatened and I have all these angry icons to use!
SCENE-DOS: Angst, fluff, drama, learning about different cultures, pretty much anything!
SCENE-DON'TS: Not much! Anything that you would consider standard "don't do it" fare.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: Kara is going to help the swimmers, start fires, discover she doesn't have to breathe, and pass out after two to three days because she really can't use her powers without the sun but she's going to anyway. Cass and Damian I believe have dibs on getting her to safety, otherwise she's free! Plotting post here.
ADDITIONAL: She has some racism-against-clones issues that have yet to blow up in her face. And by some I mean 'kill them all'.

PERSONALITY: Friendly, outgoing, precocious ward of not-really-billionaire-anymore Bruce Wayne. As Robin, he's a good at tactics, has a lot of combat experience, and likes irritating opponents using quips and witticisms. He's all about helping people out and he's genuinely nice and friendly (even if sometimes he has an ulterior motive, usually gathering intel).
CURRENT STATUS: Robin's been keeping an eye on the Fire sector, tracking gang movements and getting a general idea of the power structure of the various mobs. Which Batman probably already knows but he's trying to keep his skills sharp, okok. He also keeps an eye on Wood. As Dick Grayson, he works at a restaurant in Fire (seeing a pattern here?) and acts like your average teenager otherwise.
CR GOALS: I just want ALL THE CR. I'd especially love something that could shake Dick out of his routine. Negative CR, positive CR, ambivalent CR. Any of those are fine!
SCENE-DOS: I'd love more action logs. I don't mind network logs, but action logs tend to be easier for me to tag sometimes. I'd also like to have a chance to show off his skills as Robin (which will happen during the zombie invasion).
SCENE-DON'TS: He's going to be a massive angstbucket this month, so I'd rather not add onto that.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: Robin is going to be spending the first few days trying to get information out of the locals and, when that fails, keeping an eye on the zombies. During the actual invasion, he'll be helping Sep with strategy and teaming up with people to get them to safety (so anyone who wants to team up or be rescued, let me know!). At the end of day 1/beginning of day 2, Robin's going to meet his untimely end via zombie horde. So he'll have a lifeless, soul-sucking corpse shambling around Keeliai. (I think Damian and Zee have called dibs when it comes to disposing of it, though). Robin himself will come back whenever the caravan drops him off and then he'll probably be wrapped up in bubble wrap and stuck in the palace by the other Bats. Neither Dick nor Robin will be readily available for a few days after the invasion, except for Bats/Supers/GLs.

PERSONALITY: Abrasive, means well (usually), ethical, determined, reckless, insatiably curious, passionate, the best investigative reporter in forever (as she will tell you herself, and sadly it's approximately true). Oh, also she's married to some unimportant guy named Clark Kent.
CURRENT STATUS: Existing, a la pre-nuboot.
CR GOALS: Any and all! Good is always nice (she needs friends, especially more CR with adults), bad is par for the course, and neutral is just good for the Rolodex. In general, having contacts in both legitimate and sketchier stuff for investigative reporting/uncovering Big Stuff would be hugely appreciated, she does this for a living. I’d also love to develop DC-cast relationships further: she doesn’t often get to be in such close quarters with non-Supers, and the other two Supers aren’t even hers in some ways.
SCENE-DOS: Almost anything! Really. If there’s a question, check, but it's probably fine.
SCENE-DON'TS: No death; no very serious injury or major major emotional trauma without a long talk with me. Other than that, I'm pretty much fine.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: She doesn't have specific plans, but really, being out in a zombie apocalypse is totally her shtick. Maybe even being out trying to find out what the damned things are (on a scale of ‘what kind of zombie,’ of course). If you want reporter shenanigans, let me know!

CHARACTER: Gaius Septimus
CANON: Codex Alera
PERSONALITY: Arrogant, impatient, short-tempered, compassionate, intelligent, generous, fearless, overly confident, bordering on but not quite entitled, strong sense of justice, compulsive fixer, driven beyond belief when given a focus, coldly pragmatic when the situation demands it, passionate. He can do political intrigue but dislikes it (especially now), and he has a major case of PTSD he's trying to ignore. Oh, and he's a serious magical powerhouse and deadly swordsman.
CURRENT STATUS: Dead, ignoring his epic PTSD, and about to be up to his ears in the zombie plot. Also, he’s openly advertised his healing abilities and decided to set up shop as the local medic.
CR GOALS: Any CR is great, really. He needs to learn to operate outside his comfort zone, which is everything since he died. Now that he's officially a doctor (basically), learning to handle/help with others' pain without triggering will be fascinating. I would love to begin getting him involved in the meta-plot and/or politics, just because he's trying so hard to avoid it, but it’s frankly in his nature. Exposing him to the superhero types would actually be lovely, because while he shares a lot of their ideals, the ones he doesn’t—varying opinion of killing, a serious distrust of vigilantism, etc—will make for some fascinating tension. That he will start sympathizing more as he deals with local politics and law would just make this even more interesting. Finally, I’d like to slowly start moving him towards situations where he’ll have emotional stress. Slowly, mind, but it’s time something started to happen.
SCENE-DOS: Just about most things. Pretty much anything not covered in 'don'ts' goes.
SCENE-DON'TS: He's not allowed to die for the foreseeable future. Very serious injury is almost (but not 100%) certainly off the table, as is romance. (I will note that romance is 'interest going anywhere,' not flirting. He can return a serve with the best. He will just gallantly draw the line.) Emotional strain is less iffy, but possible.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: Sep's plotting is here. tl;dr: he's going to organize a tactical fire strike, and WA-3A will be turned into a fort. I'd love more people to hop on-board, both IC and OOC! If you join OOC pre-event, I'll take you into account in strategic and tactical planning.

CHARACTER: Victor Borkowski (Anole)
CANON: Marvel Comics (616): X-Men
PERSONALITY: A generally friendly mutant, he tries to be a voice of reason in groups. He's content to hang out and enjoy life with friends but he'll also join in on superhero action if he has to.
CURRENT STATUS: Right now, Victor's pretty settled in. He's meeting people, making friends, and wondering how long it'll be until something bad happens. He's also been doing some vigilante work, running around and fighting crimes.
CR GOALS: I'm always up for getting Vic some more friends. Someone he's on not so great terms could be fun too. Pretty much open to all sorts of different CR.
SCENE-DOS: I'm good with just about anything, really. Not as much into heavy angst but some is okay.
SCENE-DON'TS: Heavy angst isn't something I'm looking for. Slice of life is fine but if it's got no goal and just stretches on and on then I kind of lose interest.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: Victor is going to be a very grumpy lizard-mutant thanks to all the cold and dark. He'll be bundling up nice and tight and staying near the fires. When the zombies start coming, he'll help get people to safety but he'll mostly be playing guard duty at a safe area.
ADDITIONAL: Err...nothing here.

CHARACTER: Albel Nox
CANON: Star Ocean: Till The End of Time
PERSONALITY: Perpetually antipathetic swordsman who would probably be a Social Darwinist in a past life. Lives with an underlying existential crises itch, because ha ha, videogames.
CURRENT STATUS: Balls deep in the narliest, filthiest parts of the Fire Sector, mostly looking for kedan lore and diversions of the violent sort. Hasn't felt the comforts of his suite bed in a good week or two. Will rise up from the ashes like an abominable phoenix in light of the fighting circuit plot and the underwater thriller plot.
CR GOALS: Everything under the sun! He's a magnet for negative CR if that's your thing, and if not, characters with a fast and loose sense of ethics bode well for evenhanded/borderline positive CR. He'll eventually need someone to put a some amount of stock in, now that he cannot rely on the advice from his quasi-father. (The Iroh to his Zuko, everyone.) Lest things get antsy. Note that he's walking contradiction in which he is trustworthy, but particularly distrusting.
SCENE-DOS: Ass-kicking -- really. From all angles. Backways, frontways, sideways, etc.
SCENE-DON'TS: I'd rather avoid slice of life/lighthearted scenes if it's all possible.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: He's here for the slicing-and-dicing of zombies. Come, brethren, and join him: if you're easy with a sword or just looking for swashbuckling good time.

CHARACTER: Annabeth Chase
CANON: PJO/Heroes of Olympus
PERSONALITY: Demigod daughter of the goddess Athena; smart, sassy, sarcastic and can break your arm in ten different ways.
CURRENT STATUS: W E L P Annabeth is currently in contact with an npc named Eva on the mainland and she received a lot of world information, all of which she kind of hasn't shared with anyone because what is trust (save for Zatanna, though they still haven't shared everything). She lost some of her closer friends, so she's been a little closed off and lonely (her closest ally is Damian right now ok). She's the same as always in terms of looking for any and all information regarding the world, now with extra suspicion regarding the Emperor.
CR GOALS: Friends and allies oh god - both old and new. I'd love for some of her existing relationships to actually reach a point of trust, and she could stand to at least become better acquainted with more people to have her back. Hoping to involve her in the whole teenage superhero thing?? She doesn't get your vigilante ways, but w/e helping people.
SCENE-DOS: As always, I love action threads because I've come to love writing how she fights and thinks in those moments. Also I love anything that gets to show off how smart she is, ngl.
SCENE-DON'TS: no shippy/romance things but otherwise i'm mostly game for whatever!
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: thread here for both my ladies, but a lot of what Annabeth will do is up in the air right now, beyond investigation and fighting zombies.

CHARACTER: Peggy Carter
CANON: MCU
PERSONALITY: Soldier and spy from the second world war. An affinity for guns and dancing. Classy and smart, charming and professional, and a firm believer of punching sexism in the balls.
CURRENT STATUS: Peggy's been a little low key, but generally, she's sorting information and still trying to learn the kedan language.
CR GOALS: You can't go wrong with more ladyfriends. But otherwise GIVE ME EVERYTHING.
SCENE-DOS: Just about anything? I want to get my action on with the zombies this month.
SCENE-DON'TS: same as above, no romance unless you are Steve. But also: slice of life with Peggy largely depends on what is happening - I'm not opposed to it, I just worry over how it might go. I'd like it to at least have a decent development in CR? If that makes sense.
TURTLE DIVE EVENT: See link above, but I'm also planning a sort of catch all log for Peggy during the event. I'd like her to come against some zombies definitely (whether this results in killing them or just getting somewhere safe). So let me know if you are interested, there can be potential threadstarters idek. She'll be at the bonfires and palace at some point, too, probably.

Oi, Peggy and Lois totally need to sit down and be awesome together somehow.

Lois and Annabeth might also have some things to talk about, depending on if she gets any interesting info (pending), but I'd actually really love for Sep and Annabeth to talk and start working together. Lois' whole schtick is the investigating, but Septimus has a... peculiar perspective on emperors being sketchy. So I'd really like to see that maybe go somewhere. Frankly, Sep would in general deeply respect and admire both these ladies.
