METAPLOT VOLUNTEERS CONCLUSION:

Okay, Turtleites! Alex and I have shaken a magical eightball and our volunteers have fallen out of it and into our laps. Below the cut you'll find details about not only about the event but the groups and their various functions within this plot.



I'M ALL SHOOK UP

These characters are going to be the ones getting their hands dirty down in the sewers, and finding some gameplay hints while they're at it! There are three teams involved here, who will each be given their own objectives.

Now in terms of objectives:

TEAM ALPHA is finding architectural schematics of the palace itself. This will include a couple of 'secret' entrances and exits. This information is best saved for a rainy day.

TEAM BRAVO is finding a grouping of blood slides; each one is neatly labelled in sequence. As for where they might have come from, who knows? They do look a little old, though... Also: they're going to be finding a Mysterious Book. This book, written in an ancient form of the kedan language, is filled with diagrams, dates, passages of information, but is completely indecipherable. That isn't to say it will remain so, however, so your characters should keep an eye on the Network for the next few weeks in case an NPC happens to crop up there with an interesting proposition.

TEAM CHARLIE is finding an examination room. This room is going to be a little... shall we say 'occupied'. Three dropped characters are going to be in this room in various capacity, but the exact extent of that capacity might surprise you.


The Event Log for 'I'm All Shook Up' is going to be going live on the 17th. It SHOULD BE NOTED: anyone is going to be permitted to participate in the log itself, but only the above groups will be able to find anything. If you are a member of the above group and you are not certain of how to ICly hook up with your teammates, please remember that the sewers are a twisted, convoluted maze and that your characters will/can be chased by NPCs at your discretion.



JAILHOUSE ROCK

Due to receiving more interest than we initially expected in this portion of the event, we decided to go with SIX final participants rather than the initially projected FIVE. Those six are as follows:

Keep in mind that anyone in the jail is going to be affected by the Turtle's calming influence, but due to the injuries the Turtle has sustained, that influence is not going to be consistent or as powerful as before. Your characters will experience flashes of anxiety and stress as well as the intermittent calming effect. ALSO: As with the above plot, anyone can be thrown in jail, but only the above six characters are going to have an NPC interaction for plot purposes. That NPC will be played by Roy, so if any details are needed please contact her via PM or her plurk/aim contact at vonnerdyce.

ALSO: if any of the above characters are accustomed to having powers or abilities of some sort, please note that they will find that these abilities don't work at all...

Now, these teams were chosen and divided according to the depths the characters can themselves endure. Team One will be our designated 'Finder Team', with the Secrets Below The Turtle being made available to them, and Team Two will be our designated 'Fight Team'. As they can't go as far below the surface as those in Team One, they will be encountering an NPC-driven fight (with one of the mods playing the NPC antagonists in that scenario).

Everyone playing a character on TEAM ONE is going to find themselves getting a PM from our mod account with details about what they'll be finding. We are requesting that those details remain secret until such time as it comes up in the log itself. The PMs will be sent approximately on the 22nd, and the details will become ICly relevant when the Underwater Log goes up. The Underwater Log is going to be the last Event Log in this particular sequence of events, and is expected to be put up around the 24th.

Okay, how do we want to do this? Run into each other on the shell edge? Underwater? Someone spots one of the kedan teams acting suspicious and follows them? Everyone just sort of runs into each other at the cloning facility while punching guard-kedan?

Nita knows everyone on the team, but doesn't know Percy and Noh-Varr have ways of surviving underwater, so she couldn't avengers-assemble the group. She could grab Kara, though.

I think running into each other underwater might make the mos sense? Percy is having a Personal Issue that involves him trying to see if he'll drown like a dumbass, so he'll be floating around under the water. Maybe if Nita has grabbed Kara they can be swimming around and Noh-Varr can be chilling out underwater too and they kind of accidentally push through where the barrier used to be all wow I didn't know that could happen, let's explore!!

I like this idea. Noh will probably be itching to try out his breathing apparatus and explore. He'd probably avoid people on the surface, but underwater he might not have much choice in avoiding them (loner that he can be).

Uhm, I should also mention that he's cobbled his breathing apparatus from spare parts from the Metal Sector. With the way technology acts in the game, it's probably very touchy and I figured it might fail on him at one point (maybe temporarily).

If it does fall apart, Percy can create an air pocket to help him breathe until it's working again!

That would definitely be appreciated, if it happens!

Also, do we have to decide, I guess, if one of us is going to tamper with the pods and set off the self-destruct, or is that up to the mods?

Even if everyone's sensible enough to keep their hands to themselves, someone could get thrown into a panel or something and trigger the self-destruct.

PS. Nita can do mouth-to-mouth underwater because lol comic book biology.

Yeah, I figured that would be the case. So, I think out of our group, Kara and Noh would most easily go, "Great Scott, clones!" but I'm also canonblind on Nita.

And that would also be appreciated by Noh. At least he's kinda clueless and won't make any jokes about liplocking.

Nita is a clone. (Even before she got to the turtle, I mean.) This will actually not be the first time she has discovered an underwater cloning lab.

Kara was like "YOU MEAN KISSING?" and Nita was all "no, drowning people are the opposite of hot. also i don't like girls."

Oh, okay. So there's three in the group who'd probably make that connection right away, recognizing the technology, etc.

Pfft. "In fact, drowning people are usually cold," Noh might say.

The instructions say something about the kedan guarding the place initiating a self destruct if it's discovered, so if they get spotted, that could happen?

Percy wouldn't recognise the cloning tech right off and it would take someone going HEY THESE ARE CLONES for him to realise, probably :'D

Kara could also literally accidentally destroy the place when she freaks out. She sort of solar-flares, she blew up a street once. And she has a sonic scream apparently that... does... stuff? Kara can definitely initiate mass destruction.

And she probably would because she's (mostly) irrationally terrified of clones.

Nita could survive that, and Noh too, probably (maybe not his SCUBA gear), but I'm not sure about Percy. It does seem like a good way to blow up the facility if that's what the plot calls for. :|9

I can avoid it by having her fly/swim off first, since it's not an instantaneous thing. She would be 100% on board with rampaging, tho.

Percy can survive it! The water'll protect him, it's basically impossible for him to be hurt too bad when he's in the ocean
