[Solomon is less 'milling about' and more 'trying to figure out where he took a wrong turn', because the cobbles don't feel right under his feet and these particular smells definitely aren't right for the street down which he should have gone. He must have gotten carried up in the crowd; damn it. It still happened, sometimes, when he wasn't using his shadow-aura to guide him, and he was trying not to do so in public. It made the kedan uneasy.
[At the sound of the boyish voice Solomon turns, his gaze sweeping sightlessly over Ventus's head mostly because it's, well, sightless. The small thin scars on his face, around his eyes, are difficult to see, but are evidence of the injury responsible.]
Yes?
[His brow furrows. He doesn't recognise the voice.]
[It takes him a moment to catch on, if only because he's not used to seeing people who, well, can't see. He leans forward a little, taking note of the scars, but soon cracks a broad smile, gesturing at himself as he speaks.]
Ventus, but you can call me Ven!
[He pauses. On one hand, he's still gotta ask about the Unversed, on the other hand, manners are important, and he can't just call this guy "you" or "mister!"]
What about you? Feels kinda silly to start asking stuff when I don't know your name.
[It's said very dryly, leaving it up to Ventus whether or not Solomon means that most people he's met are rude, they don't bother to ask because he's rude, or something else entirely. Admittedly, an instant exchange of names in his world is foolish at best and disastrous at worst, so he's been finding himself irritated by the propensity of late.

But even if he is blunt, how quickly he catches on makes Ven pause for a second. He gapes, blinking, because, whoa. He took the words right out his mouth!]
Er... are you some kinda psychic? I was mostly gonna ask about the Unversed, but if they're not here...
[Well, that changes a lot! He could ask about his friends, maybe. Could they be here, too?]
[Ah, the days when Solomon could make teenagers think he's psychic. The question makes him smile an amused smile, more a quirk of his mouth.]

[But he's not going to explain his reasoning, because where would be the fun in that? It's not often he gets to meet a new Foreigner before everyone else has already filled them in. He just shrugs instead.]
Never heard of them, so they probably aren't. There's nothing in particular trying to destroy the city this month, or if there is they're doing it subtly enough that I haven't heard about it--which, I assure you, is quite the feat. As for the rest, you're in another dimension, in a city called Keeliai, which is on the back of a continental-sized turtle. Welcome to the soap opera, do enjoy your stay.
