a man in a- well then
So right on the heels of that other idea...here's another one.
For those of you who don't remember, Callaghan is actually the villain in his canon, and is specifically coming from the canonpoint just at the peak of his stint- that is to say, he's pretty sure he's about to get Giant Robot Punched In The Face by Baymaxfor being a huge jerk after running out of microbots. He's managed to calm down and has begun to try to be 'normal' again, but now we have Krei in here, the guy whom Callaghan blames for the death of his daughter.
And we have Tadashi, who was an unfortunate casualty of Callaghan deciding to try and kill Krei, and whom Callaghan labeled 'a mistake' when confronted with such.OOCly explaining this as 'tell yourself something over and over and you'll start to believe it, and you'll start to believe it wasn't your fault, either'
...and we have Hiro. That kid's brother. Also responsible for the condition of the aforementioned Giant Robot.
IN LIEU OF DOING ANYTHING HEALTHY, SAY, TALKING OUT HIS FEELINGS (sorry Anton), Callaghan is going to dig out the Yokai mask from its hiding place and go out on the town, looking for/causing a bit of trouble. He'll be relying on stealth as he had in the movie, but with far fewer microbots than he had then, he can't quite be as aggressive; the only deaths I have in mind are maybe a few NPCs who don't back off, but it is absolutely not the focus of the plot.
The focus of the plot is an old man committing a few theft-crimes, maybe stopping a few others, and generally becoming a rumor-whisper because no, seriously, are we sure that's a Foreigner because they can change their form but they're made of metal?
OOCly, I'd like to keep him from being caught/unmasked (though him having a Very Narrow Escape is fine), for now, but I'm willing to discuss things with people who really really want to do it. BUT anyone who wants to come across a Yokai, poke here. c:Quick, someone try to be his friend!]

WELL ON THE THOUGHTS FRONT... Skulduggery's canonically a lot like Sherlock Holmes, in that he can look at a man drinking in a pub and tell him exactly what he did the day before. Partly, I think, because he doesn't have anything physical limiting his thought processes anymore, so he just thinks really fast, and can put together complicated puzzles in seconds. SO. Should a Bad thing occur that pretty clearly stops Yokai from any more criminal activity, Skul would keep going until he knew who Yokai was just as a matter of pride, but he would probably even forego confrontation at that point because criminal with morals can't be all bad, etc. He'd just... keep an eye on things after that.
As for clues! Damaged microbot or two sounds good, though he wouldn't go public with them. He'd take them to someone he knows is mechanically-minded and ask if they look familiar, which I think at this point would most likely be Tony?
Callaghan can sweat another day.But the aforementioned observation skills means Skul would definitely pick up on subtleties of body language and voice, providing he actually met Yokai first, and that's something I would want to play out because handwaving stuff like that really just leads to a lot of confusion in my experience. But maybe he meets Yokai because he's working out places Yokai is most likely to hit, and is patrolling them? Like, he asks around the kedan to figure out where Yokai's been, and maybe using information Tony gives him about the microbots figures out what kind of materials Callaghan's going after? He also wouldn't immediately assume Foreigner, so seeing Callaghan at the Hotel after a potential meeting would be a lucky coincidence and he most certainly would not jump up going 'I FOUND YOU' or anything like that.
tl;dr don't mind me just gleeing over getting to play my detective being a detectiveno subject
Man Callaghan is going to end up with so many people watching him like a hawk it's beautiful :'D :'D :'D
He needs it.Taking a microbot to Tony sounds good to me; depending on how Tony's player wants to play it, they might offer a clue as well, because I imagine Tony would recognize it.What kind of confrontation are we thinking about here? Yokai will avoid mostly physical things and generally try to stay hidden/unseen, but if he
thinks hehas no choice he'd try to scare someone off/get a bit physical. Not that...a skeleton will be very easy to dissuade. Depending on how much he knows about Skullduggery re; detective, he might even just flee at that point because he does NOT NEED THIS CRAP HE DOES THIS TO RELIEVE STRESS NOT GET MORE.I AM SUPER HAPPY I CAN BE OF ASSISTANCE KYAno subject
Do you have Tony's player on plurk? We can coordinate there as things regarding microbots become relevant.
That... depends. Skul's been known to get physical if it's like the second or third time the same criminal is getting away from him
frustration and pride yoand he would take advantage of the magic at his disposal. Having said that, he wouldn't be aiming to hurt anyone even if it did come to that - and we can pretty easily stop it from coming to that by just having the one nearly-catching thing. Which makes more sense anyway.no subject
Tony's
If things are close enough the first time, Callaghan will take steps to ensure it's the only time. So...definitely works for me c:
