Welcome to the first CR meme of 2015, and of the new game arc! For players who've joined us since our last meme, these ~bimonthly memes are our opportunity to help establish an idea of what sort of CR you're looking for your characters. Because of this, we do ask that you be as specific as you can when replying to this meme! 'Our characters should team up to moon Tu Yunxu' is more useful than 'omg tag me.'

We have two helpful sections titled "Current Status" for a summary of what your character's been up to, and "CR Goals" for the plotting and discussion of gaps in your character's CR spectrum that you would like to fill! We've also got a section for indicating what kinds of CR you're especially looking for, as well as types of threads you're not interested in.

CHARACTER: Aya
CANON: GL:TAS
PERSONALITY: Very logical. Very literal. All about that Bass Science! Aya is significantly younger than she looks--less than three years old, chronologically--and yet possesses all the maturity of a...teenager. But a responsible one. Usually
CURRENT STATUS: Aya made a deal with Zanru to work at Stark Industries as an instructor with promises of regaining access to her the lab. She also made an offer to the local Foreigners for either outside instruction on local technology, or collaboration in all the science experiments. She does not eat, and she does not sleep, so she constantly searches for means to keep herself useful and fulfill her time.

CHARACTER: Zatanna Zatara
CANON: Young Justice
PERSONALITY: Fun, flirty, and with an insatiable wunderlust for life. She's older now with years of maturity from her time in Keelai and Dreaming. One might almost be tempted to use the word "responsible" now. She still has her trollish side, though, as well as her sass and confident attitude. And her magic.
CURRENT STATUS: Zatanna's been working on getting her ward-protected trunk of things back, while continuing her magic training. She's stronger now. More in control. Still eager to learn. She's also still very much dating Jack, and in fact, staying in a back room at the Welcome Center so they can stick together until better rooming arrangements can be made.

CHARACTER: Midii Une
CANON: Gundam Wing: Episode Zero
PERSONALITY: For a fourteen-year-old, Midii has been through it all. Twice. Two loves lost. Two wars. Two glimpses of a happy life she could have had, only for that to be taken away from her as well. She's been burned one too many times, and refuses to let this world burn her any longer.
CURRENT STATUS: Laying low. Trying to figure out which faction might prove the most beneficial for her to ally herself with.


CR GOALS: What's your dream CR to obtain this month? Do you want to work on developing current CR or splash into something new?

SCENE-DOS: I would love to do something with the Helmet of Fate and/or more magic investigations for Zatanna. All the Science for Aya--perhaps do an open log for any Science Bros who want to mingle together and brainstorm ideas? And as for Midii...she's been lurking in the shadows until now, trying to gather intel. Maybe get her into trouble trying to mix in with either the gangs or some other groups who wouldn't be afraid to hire a 14-year-old ex-spy.
SCENE-DON'TS: Nothing that would be considered age inappropriate (Midii is 14, Aya is mentally/emotionally 18-ish, and Zatanna is 17). No shipping for Aya. Probably no shipping for Midii, either, but definitely not at this time.

CHARACTER: Sonja
CANON: Advance Wars
PERSONALITY: Calculating and curious, but socially anxious. Sonja likes observing and analyzing and breaking things down, but she also tends to over-analyze herself, leading to second-guessing and stress. She's sometimes petty but is at heart a pragmatist.
CURRENT STATUS: Trying to get her bearings in Tu Shanshu and find her place in it. Still meeting people and finding out what's going on. She prefers to know about people before she meets them, so she's creating an intelligence dossier for everyone.

CR GOALS: Find someone to latch onto for operation: get our stuff back. Sonja has a bit of a relationship with Valdis, but valdis has her own thing going for that and I'd prefer to mix it up a little. I want to get Sonja into a position to watch everyone work together, gather lots of data points, build some relationships, maaaaaybe let people see that besides being an awkward wreck she can really contribute.

SCENE-DOS: Sonja is a very versatile character, and I can totally interact with people doing action spam, but I will most likely be doing prose most of the time (I might mix it up occasionally, if I can avoid getting murdered for it **cough**makari**cough**). I'm up for plot (Sonja is an intelligence gatherer/planner, but i don't mind throwing her into uncomfortable situations in fact please do), fluff, CR (yes please), nonsexual romance (homoromantic, she's 16).

CHARACTER: Anton Shudder
CANON: Skulduggery Pleasant
PERSONALITY: Anton has a demon-thing inside him which makes it necessary for him not to ever get angry ever. Luckily he's pretty good at that, with a result that he ... never gets angry ever. In spite of being a living weapon, though, he's extremely maternal. Seriously. The bloke gave all the Foreigners socks for Christmas. He's everybody's mother. He's also five hundred years old, and owns the Midnight Hotel.

CURRENT STATUS: Thanks to the portable lanterns Anton can now go back to living at the Hotel full-time, and has. He welcomes Foreigners and kedan alike, and is aiming to reforge some of his contacts with the gangs. He's also managed to trade some of the Hotel's old electrical goods for a public console. He's not at this time involving himself in active plans regarding the kedan, however, preferring to take a longer route of letting familiarity breed some trust.
CR GOALS: I love playing Anton's maternal side, so I'd always love more of that, but I'd also like to develop some/more CR that's equal, people who get Anton to open up about himself and can approach him less as people that need to be mothered.

CHARACTER: Solomon Wreath
CANON: Skulduggery Pleasant
PERSONALITY: Solomon is a man of faith who originally put that faith is some less than ethical plans and is now struggling with putting it elsewhere. He's a necromancer and his magic is addictive in nature, which is a problem because since arriving in Keeliai he's gotten rocks-fall-everybody-dies powerful. That said Solomon values control and choice over power, so he's actively trying to avoid that 'rocks fall' eventuality.

CURRENT STATUS: His magical has pretty wildly destabilised so he's taken to wearing magic-binding restraints 24/7 so he doesn't go insane and use death-magic to kill everybody. So he's going to be focussing on that. He's also going to be focussing on patching Bakura's soul back together and figuring out this long-term relationship thing with Raine.
CR GOALS: I don't have any particular CR I'd like with Sol that I don't already have started, so for him I'm working on consolidating the CR he has now. Because of his own current problems he's going to be fairly insular anyway, and not tend to reach out much.

SCENE-DOS: I'm pretty open with everything. I prefer prose over actionspam but I'm not opposed to actionspam in the least, particularly if that's how a thread starts. I do especially love character-driving threads, though; not necessarily the ones that are overly emotional so much as the ones that let me discover things about the characters, their worlds and how they mesh. Also, I really love finishing threads to an IC conclusion, and I don't mind waiting for long periods if I have to and my thread-partners are really busy.

And a new one: I prefer letting things develop organically rather than with planning, because I like surprises, so aside from fight-scenes I will generally go 'let's throw these two together in this place and see what happens' more than anything else.
SCENE-DON'TS: Random small-talk, unless it's part of a larger conversation that will likely turn back to other topics, doesn't tend to grab my attention. Otherwise, the only 'don't' I have is that Anton and Solomon can't meet, being from the same canon. They've heard of each other so they can easily talk about one another, but I'd like to keep them apart as much as possible barring handwavable 'passing in the hall' type interactions.

CHARACTER: Robert Callaghan
CANON: Big Hero 6
PERSONALITY: Mild-mannered robotics professor who had a brief stint as a supervillain. May still hold villainous tendencies. And by 'may still' we mean 'definitely does', but hey, everybody needs a reason to go off the deep end again.

CURRENT STATUS: After helping Anton repair some of the hotel's emechanics, Callaghan is working on striking out of his own. He's having mixed success; he didn't exactly bring his resume with him.
CR GOALS: Oh man. Callaghan needs friends he can betray later except it's not betrayal if you don't directly try and hurt them and/or just people to talk with and keep him from indulging too much in grimdark tendencies. Ideally I'd like him to get close enough to people that when he does have a motive to become Yokai once again, that motive will either be directly related to them...or they'll be swept aside in how ruthless he can be following that.

SCENE-DOS: UM EVERYTHING. Callaghan isn't much for people who are generally timewasters though (or otherwise strike him as such) because he still clearly has Better Things To Do Than Schenanigins. Science Schenanigins, on the other hand...
SCENE-DON'TS: I can't think of anything offhand, short of romance; while I'm open as a player to such happening, I'd prefer it be discussed OOCly, because Callaghan seems to be the sort who loves very passionately and very rarely. It can't not happen, but it's definitely not going to happen easily.

CHARACTER: Donatello
CANON: TMNT 2k3
PERSONALITY: The family techie, he specializes in building his own security systems and hacking everyone else's. Also ridiculous vehicles. Plus, he's a ninja.

CURRENT STATUS: Don has lost his two brothers, his hatchling, his boon of telepathy, everything he owns (AGAIN), and a year of his life. He needs something that will make him feel whole again.

CR GOALS: Don has lots of talents, but making plans is not one of them. He needs a strategy/politics person to explain the situation in Keeliai and point him at a project where he can make himself useful.

SCENE-DOS: I'd really like him to have a just-plain-friend. His cheerful side doesn't come out often enough in RP. I also love having characters exchange information, especially when some of it is rumor or outright lies.

SCENE-DON'TS: No more misery right now, thanks.

I am loving Anton and Callaghan already and tbh he was someone I was thinking of when I said in my own post that I'd like Anton to have CR with someone he can approach as an equal. A lot of the people on the turtle are either really young or emotionally immature, so Callaghan being more worldly and closer to Anton's emotional age is CR he doesn't have yet.

Anton's got experience with friends who go off the deep end so if you want someone who will pursue Yokai so he can punch him and drag him back home and force him into rehabilitation, Anton's your guy. Ain't no one got time for shit like that, bro.

CHARACTER: Dante
CANON: Devil May Cry
PERSONALITY: You know that bold, brazen, somewhat dumb, yet good-hearted guy that's in pretty much every shounen anime and JRPG? Now imagine that he's also the biggest ham on the face of the earth, and too old to be doing any of this shit.

He's gone through some slight character development on the shell; he realizes that some things require a softer touch, and is currently trying to broaden his horizons.

For reasons described below, people who tag him should expect melodrama, trolling, ham, and mood whiplashing.

CURRENT STATUS:

Emotionally, Dante's in a rather bad place right now. His turtle hatching left after Malicant basically told him he's an awful parent, his brainwashed brother's on the shell, and he's currently pining over a woman who he thinks is spoken for. And that's on top of what everyone else on the shell is going through. So he's a bit moody right now.

Since waking up, Dante has accidentally joined the Snakes in baby's first attempt at diplomacy. His status is unofficial, but there is a chance anyone working with or against the Snakes may see him as hired help.

Lastly, Dante's sporting the ugly hobo beard from hell. Someone needs to tell him just how ugly it is.

CR GOALS:

Plotwise, I generally tend to roll with the punches and see what happens. However, I have plans for plots, which I shall elaborate on.

-Dante's all about that demonic influence. He very much wants to know what happened to the cult and what was going on in the castle before that. Therefore, he's not only very interested in the castle itself, but anyone who deals in such things.

-I need to figure out what he's doing for Operation: Get our stuff back. He was originally going to cozy up to the smaller gangs, but the negotiations with Tu Yunxu put the axe on that.

-Right now, Dante's priority is taking care of his brother. I'll let Vergil's mun elaborate and get the ball rolling since this affects their character much more then mine, but just so you know, anyone with powers or experience with memories or brainwashing may get a stalker.

-He'd like help wooing the hellhound object of his affection. He is looking for people who can teach him to dance (especially the pasodoble), and basic "how do I do this whole dating thing". But he also really needs etiquette lessons.

-I enjoy people who try and straighten Dante's attitude out and those who participate in his antics in equal measure. I am currently lacking in the latter.

SCENE-DOS:
-Please stab Dante in the chest. It's hilarious.
-I can do drama, fluff, comedy, or anything else. Just be warned that Dante is from a rather unserious canon, and I may occasionally inject humor for the sake of remaining in-character.
-I like prose, but I'll do action if it's over the network. Just be warned that my action posts might look a lot like prose, except with brackets instead of quotation marks.

SCENE-DON'TS:
-No explicit smut, or really anything more then insinuations, please.
-When in doubt, throw up content warnings and ask me before moving forward with anything too graphic.
-I have been told that Dante and Valdis are now on a "Valdis will maul anyone who tries to go near him romantically or sexually." basis. So a bit of flirting's fine, but your character does so at their own peril.

PERSONALITY: Idiot teenager with a 1-year chip from Recovering Supervillains Anonymous. Ruthless. Possesses the potential for diplomacy, and plays a long game.

CURRENT STATUS: Plotting how to make the Foreigners a force to be reckoned with in this brave new world.

CR GOALS: This boy needs more friends since pretty much all of his friends have dropped lmao. If you're interested in befriending someone who accidentally the apocalypse, hmu.

SCENE-DOS: I prefer log tags to network, but really, anything goes.
SCENE-DON'TS: I'd like to avoid negative CR for him for a while, since I've been dragging him through the mud for months now. Time to ruin Jackie's life instead.

ADDITIONAL:

CHARACTER: Jackie Ma
CANON: Sleeping Dogs
PERSONALITY: Idiot gangster with a heart of gold.

CURRENT STATUS: Jackie has fallen in with the Snakes, since his powers are gone and his hatchling is, too. :'(

CR GOALS: Any and all CR. He's friendly, but I've had a rough time the past few months so I haven't been tagging out as much. Also I'd like someone to try and recruit him to be a mole for the Foreigners inside the Snakes. :D

CHARACTER: Jack Frost
CANON: Rise of the Guardians
PERSONALITY: It's pretty much all in his title: Spirit of Winter and Guardian of Fun. Jack's the second most tenured person on the turtle right now, after Zatanna, whom he's also dating. So he's matured a lot, having really lived integrated with people for the last few years.
CURRENT STATUS: He sent Baby Tooth home by way of Eva, but he chose to stay in Keeliai because of the people he knows here. Being immortal, there isn't any outward changes to him from their sleeping year. Jack's still feeling out where he stands with the kedan now, since he was on pretty good terms with them before everything went downhill. He's also going to be a strong advocate of making the Foreigner/Kedan dynamic work, so he's going to be critical of either side doing things that's going to widen that divide. He's in the process of rebuilding the Welcome Center so that the Foreigners have an additional focal point, a "public seat" in the city.
CR GOALS: I'm open to anything with Jack! He still likes looking out for the new arrivals, and he wants to do what he can to help people out.

CHARACTER: Yami no Bakura
CANON: Yuugiou: Duel Monsters
PERSONALITY: Cranky ancient thief, part time evil villain, full time ass.
CURRENT STATUS: Basically, he went back to his world intending to finish off the Memory RPG and, er, die. Instead, he lost the game (lol) and only mostly died, before being yanked back to Tu Vishan. As such, he can't communicate with his ghosts, he's missing his magic, and he basically hates EVERYTHING right now especially Solomon. That said, this isn't a permanent change for him (even I'm not that mean) so the next little while is him getting his head sorted out and trying to find some new goals that don't end in world destruction.
CR GOALS: I'm really open to anything. He's not quite as antagonistic right now, compared to how much he was before, and without his magic he wisely knows it's not smart to pick (as many) fights as before. That said, he's still more abrasive than the average person, so negative CR is always a possibility with him.

SCENE-DOS: Jack is open for anything, network, log, in person, etc. Bakura's a little more reclusive by choice, which means that I'm looking for scenarios to drop him in that force him to actually talk to people!
SCENE-DON'TS: Nothing immediately springs to mind, although I do better when there's a clear development of CR and not just... randomly talking about nothing at all.

CHARACTER: Raine Sage
CANON: Tales of Symphonia
PERSONALITY: Archaeology-mad Responsible Adult™. She dispenses healing, logic, and mild judgment regarding lack of common sense. While she can come off as cold -- and if I can get someone to call her that, I know I'm doing my job -- she's a very compassionate person at the heart of it, and while she actually does have fairly strong emotional reactions, she's had a lot of practice at not showing it.

CURRENT STATUS: She's been here ten months, or twenty-two months, depending whether you count the sleeping year, and it's kind of wearing on her. The Dreaming conspired to make her more homesick than she thought, and while she chose to stay willingly she's going to be a bit more withdrawn than she has been. Further, she has a new research project which she's also going to be pretty secretive about, and is all kinds of worried about multiple friends. Add to this moderately alarmed self-examination on the subject of Feelings that make her no longer objective, and Raine's... well, she's had a year.
CR GOALS: save her from the dumb boys I mean. Raine's only female CR right now is kinda negative. I'd love for her to make friends with someone she doesn't feel she has to look after, preferably one of the other ladies, but honestly, most of what I will probably wind up doing with her is pursuing current CR. Including hauling aforementioned dumb boys out of gangs if she can.

SCENE-DOS: Prose/logs absolutely yes, fluff yes, in-depth magic stuff yes... basically anything yes, honestly, with the common-sense caveats of ratings and definitely let's talk about it before anything gets violent.
SCENE-DON'TS: Raine's not a fan of the network now, for a variety of reasons, and will probably be outright avoiding it except where absolutely necessary.

CHARACTER: China Sorrows
CANON: Skulduggery Pleasant
PERSONALITY: A charming, gorgeous, manipulative woman whose primary interest is herself. She likes to maintain neutrality on all levels, as much as possible, doesn't really do friends, and considers it a matter of course that people love her. She has all of two emotional attachments to actual people; fortunately, one of those is on the turtle, as well.

CURRENT STATUS: She's still finding her footing, and by this I mean watching everyone, learning everything she can about Foreigners and kedan alike, and seeing how many people she can charm into doing her bidding before someone notices. While she doesn't have nearly as much of a reputation as she'd like yet, she is entertained by the fact that practically no one here has been warned about her.
CR GOALS: Everything. No, seriously, everything. I've barely tagged her into anyone's things yet, partially because of that thing she does with the passive love magic, and partially because I've been slow and shy this past month. I have some tentative plans for her with Callaghan that I'm looking forward to, but apart from that, seriously, I want to do so many things with China. The chances that I will take you up on almost anything suggested are very high.

SCENE-DOS: Just about anything.
SCENE-DON'TS: I honestly don't know. I'm okay with most things, and China's boundaries are, much like her morals, hard to pinpoint. If you'd question it, ask, I suppose.

Riddle

CHARACTER: Alayne Stone
CANON: A Song of Ice and Fire: A Feast for Crows
PERSONALITY: Polite, though she can be sassy if she feels comfortable enough around somebody, oftentimes too optimistic for her own good and she is running from her true "self".

This covers her transformation from Sansa into Alayne:

Before arriving to the Eyrie, Sansa had been stuck between a rock and a hard place. Joffrey's death would inevitably be blamed on her - especially since she fled during the feast - and her life was hanging on a thread. She took a chance by following Ser Dontos - revealing her desperation - and, consequently, she put herself right in Littlefinger's hands.

At first, the idea of being Alayne Stone was strange. She knew she didn't have a choice - particularly after witnessing the instability of her Aunt Lysa - so she shouldered the mask without complaint. However, after the death of her Aunt - and even in quiet moments before that, she found it easy to push her life as Sansa Stark to the back of her mind. Alayne Stone's life was easier - safer. It resembled the life she had as a child in some ways and, over time, she let the mask of Alayne Stone become her main self. Sansa Stark was like a ghost; like a girl she used to know, but not her.

In fact, Littlefinger's revelation that she would strip away the mask and reclaim Winterfell was met with conflicting feelings. Winterfell had become a place of dreams for her - of course she longed for it - but she didn't feel like the proud daughter of Stark that she had once been. Did she belong in Winterfell? Was she meant to reclaim the title? Her past life as Sansa Stark and her current life as Alayne Stone collided painfully over those inquiries and she could only take one day at a time; one step at a time.

However it should be noted that very little of her conflict has to do with Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish. He has urged her to create a new world for herself - one where she can forget the horrors of her life as Sansa Stark - but he has also warned her that, one day, that world will be stripped away. He is a potentially dangerous ally and she doesn't give him her full trust even though she does give him her kisses and adapt herself to being his bastard daughter.

In Tu Shanshu I believe her distance from Littlefinger will give her the space - and clarity - to separate Sansa Stark from Alayne Stone. Instead of simply running and hiding from what she has seen and endured, she will, slowly, confront it and unravel the odds and ends that her life has become. However she has a lot of healing to do. The horrors she experienced in King's Landing (i.e. Lady's execution, the beheading of her father, the abuse by Joffrey and his knights, the death of her brother and mother, the marriage and almost bedding with Tyrion and even the death of Joffrey) will frighten her away from being Sansa Stark until either circumstances or outside help encourages her to strengthen herself and confront them.

CURRENT STATUS: She just arrived and she is determined to stitch/sew all the fabric she can find into new garments. She is also going to work as an upholsterer and mender.
CR GOALS: I want it all.

SCENE-DOS: All of the above. I do have a soft spot for fluff/general friendship threads because her canon is so full of angst.
SCENE-DON'TS: That's the great thing about Alayne. Even in slice-of-life threads, everything is new and precious. She has had far too many upheavals in her life. As for negative CR? What else is new? She is used to being surrounded by enemies.

CHARACTER: Sokka
CANON: Avatar: The Last Airbender
PERSONALITY: A man that's 50% sarcasm, 50% scientist, 50% warrior, 50% detective, 50% lover of meat, 50% tactician, 50% funny guy, and 100% lover of boomerangs. He's 17 years old, and he doesn't have that much patience for people who are completely stupid, but he tends to try to put smiles on everyone else's faces.
CURRENT STATUS: Sokka previously was working at Stark Industries before the Malicant attacked, and he was trying desperately to keep the peace between his friends and to keep everyone's spirits high by making jokes and just being the newcomer with a fresh take on things. Now... he's pretty much just trying to scrape by and figure out a new life for himself. Also, he's taking part in Operation Get Our Stuff Back, presumably by trying to orchestrate some mad plan.

CR GOALS: I want to get Sokka more involved in serious plotstuffs here. I have always felt about half a step behind in the game since I got in (since things were steamrolling towards an epic conclusion), and I'm hoping to be more proactive with things. Also, I want to branch out my CR with everyone; Sokka is generally pretty approachable (generally!), and I want him to meet all the people that I just didn't have time for pre-Malicant. PERSONALITY:A cold but honorable warrior, whose curious about the new world around him. With a bonus even colder jerk locked inside of him.
CURRENT STATUS:Just settling in. He thinks Dante is up to something. Sadly, that's it.
CR GOALS: Hoping to just build some cr for now honestly. That is the goal of the Fresh Meat~! I am open to everything.

Edit Though, I would love to have someone with experience in brainwashing and mental control to have CR with Vergil. My goals to eventually get Nelo Angelo fixed as Vergil is still very much inside of him.

SCENE-DOS: I am actually open to all sorts of interactions. I flow pretty easy where ever I am pointed. I do generally default to prose by default but I as stated I can do either. I like person to person, playing someone with trust issues he doesn't exactly trust a disjointed voice or image speaking to him. Thus Nelo Angelo wont be on the communicators much. I lean more towards angst and action, but again. I am good with anything.
SCENE-DON'TS: I have nothing to add here. I roll with everything, its all good.

I am super down for this; Callaghan doesn't seem to have many peers in canon (or my headcanon, for that record), so someone he gains an honest respect for and vice versa would be lovely. Especially if they're the sort who could metaphorically (and probably literally) force him to sit down when he starts thinking that chaos and mass destruction is a good thing. :')

He's not a bad guy, he's just...................kind of. Blind. At times.
