CR With Me | January 2015

Welcome to the first CR meme of 2015, and of the new game arc! For players who've joined us since our last meme, these ~bimonthly memes are our opportunity to help establish an idea of what sort of CR you're looking for your characters. Because of this, we do ask that you be as specific as you can when replying to this meme! 'Our characters should team up to moon Tu Yunxu' is more useful than 'omg tag me.'

We have two helpful sections titled "Current Status" for a summary of what your character's been up to, and "CR Goals" for the plotting and discussion of gaps in your character's CR spectrum that you would like to fill! We've also got a section for indicating what kinds of CR you're especially looking for, as well as types of threads you're not interested in.

AMARAQ

CHARACTER: Skulduggery Pleasant
CANON: Skulduggery Pleasant
PERSONALITY: He's not obviously different from before his canon update, but he is getting a touch more sentimental. (Which, considering he wasn't sentimental at all before, is really a step in the right direction.) Skulduggery is a highly intelligent and observant private detective with a dry sense of humour and a warm arrogance that means he'll make fun of people he doesn't like, and defend the people he cares about. He's also ever-so-slightly insane for various spoilerific reasons, and is prone to doing very outlandish things for seemingly no reason whatsoever.

CURRENT STATUS: Skul's spent most of his time since the battle with Malicant checking up on old friends and checking out places like the Palace of Landed Sky. He's also been poking around in town, looking for new things to do and whatever opportunities might present. He's actually fairly mellow right now, which makes him simultaneously more exciting and more boring for people who want to approach him in the street.
CR GOALS: There are a couple of people I would love for Skul to touch base with and haven't yet - Raine jumps to mind, for example. He's also going to check up on Sonja once or twice to make sure she's settling in okay, and he's always up for surprising people at their windows, as I'm sure Cain can attest to. Otherwise, he is trying to get his Bentley back, and I'm still in the middle of a couple of threads I need to finish before I know where he's going to head next with that. Once that's more solid, I'm totally up for him being a voice of semi-reason in Operation-Get-Our-Stuff-Back.

SCENE-DOS: Usually I prefer prose, but I think I'm going to try and stick to actionspam or network posts for now since this is a busy month and those require less thought. Also because I'm swimming in NPC tags good lord the NPC tags you guys are so wonderful.
SCENE-DON'TS: I like having an idea about where a thread is going to go, so I tend to slow down if I don't. It doesn't need to be much of an idea, I just need a little bit more than 'random chit-chat.' And as I said above, this month is a busy month, so I might avoid anything that gets too heavy and/or push that back to February.

Yes. Yes they should. Skul would have checked up on Gene like within the first week, so do you want to handwave that and start some new bonding, or backdate?

Well, I always love backdating, but I don't want to stress you out if that'll put too much on your plate.

You know, ordinarily I'd say we can touch on what happened in a later thread, but I think this is a little too character-defining for both of them to handwave? So backdating it is!... I'm just not sure where. >_> The Hotel?

Our characters and our posting style are eerily similar ~~if you ignore the whole elemental skeleton versus child princess thing~~

Clearly, we should take advantage of this.

Dante is also investigating the castle, but this is more as a follow-up to what was discovered during the Malicant plot then in regards to the potential plot to retake the castle. ~~Also, how does one pester someone into marrying you?~~

Do you think they might have bumped into each other at any point and shared info? ~~Marry who now what now~~

Most likely, since Dante now knows better than to act on his own. ~~I mean, just hypothetically, if you loved a woman, how would you get her to marry you?~~

In that case, Skul would have shared the theory that someone barricaded the lower levels - he just doesn't know who, since the kedan avoid the place like the plague. Maybe Malicant isn't quite so dea- /shot ~~Well, he'd start by asking.~~

Tony and Skul really need to interact on-screen more. x| I'd love for them to have some CR that is personal and not just centered on plot, maybe we could do something with Gene or the Bentley or Tony messing around with sigils?

Skul is very, very particular about the Bentley. Like, China's a master of sigils, and he still isn't going to let her near it with any kind of marking instrument. But YES I AGREE I need to see what I'm doing about Operation Get Our Stuff Back because I feel like there's definitely going to be interaction there.

Not putting sigils on the Bentley, talking about sigils/talking about the Bentley were two separate suggestions. xD Though now I'm imagining Tony trying to put sigils on the Bentley resulting in a murderous flying skeleton chasing a suit of flying power armor all over the city and Tony's just like

"I HAVE MADE A MISTAKE"

You already know this but that reply made my day.

Don't worry, Skeleton Man, we'll get your baby back. One way or another. How would you feel about a mysterious teleportation kidnapping, or some intense jury-rigging followed by a daring flying-car escape?

Or maybe you should tell the kedan that the car is full of demons. Skeleton demons. Your evil skeleton demon minions.

Y'know, I'm not actually convinced Raine knows Skul's back. I would similarly love for them to catch up on things, as well.

Though re: your dos and don'ts, she's hella uncomfortable with the network rn and will be actively avoiding putting herself on it unless necessary. Radio and/or actionspam could work?

See, Raine's one of the people Skul would have checked up on, I think. :/ Unless he was assuming Solomon would tell her he was back, which, you know what? He probably was. Bad skeleton. Stop relying on Solomon for things.

That's totally fine. It's not like I'm going to be able to keep to actionspam for very long anyway, lbr.

We can backdate something, or assume bad skeleton, or somewhere in the middle? I am not too picky, tbh, as the end result is Skulthread. c: You have more things on your plate than I do, at any rate, so I can adapt pretty easily to whatever works for you best.

Let's go with somewhere in the middle. I can justify Christmas, if you're okay with backdating something in the Hotel? :D

It would be ~~pleasant~~ a good idea for Sokka to hang out with Skullsy at some point in the near future. Sokka might be able to help him get his Bentley back one day. Maybe.

Yes I approve. I'm going to see about open logs come February, depending on how Operation Get Our Stuff Back goes.
