TAKING BACK WHAT IS OURS (bnr we just need the palace back)
So it's becoming obvious there's diverse groups of characters waiting to strike/get intel on the palace now that it's taken over by the big bad M, and I thought, in my comfortable fortress of solitudehiatus that a bit of organization put together could be helpful.
As far as I’m aware there’s a group that plans to approach it in a discrete way to try to gather intel, a group that plans to use magic and others who plan on trying a bit of a more, uh, direct attack so I will make headers to discuss these three groups and how each ‘attack’ would go, but keep in mind I’m not trying to lead it all or anything like that- I’m just trying to provide an easier way to discuss and plot.
Also it was suggested we use the player mission for each of these plans so the IC attack would probably go up the moment the player missions go up as well, unless groups decide they would rather not use it.

Team sneaky intel

I'm also sort of interested in playing out her ability to actually enter computer systems and work from there, of course pending mod approvals and potential outcomes of such a thing
positive or otherwise. So I have tons of ideas and am totally open to all the other tech-savvy peeps who would want to get in on any of the above.

Raine Sage: is a white mage a la tabletop/video game definitions of it, light spells and healing, so she fits the flavor to a T. She may also be the more effective of the two at healing. That said, being a video game white mage, she fits the standard Power Spellcaster Thus Slightly Squishy template.
OR
Septimus: has more than enough magic to qualify, though may be somewhat less of a healer than Raine, and while he's got magic and it is highly offense-oriented magic, this includes 'and now I stab you with a sword to the face.' On the other hand, this makes him not a squishy glass cannon and the gamer instincts in both Makari and I are screaming that you do not send out a team of all mages without a tank of some kind.
We think maybe it'll be healthy for Team Magic to have a powerful melee fighter along, but we also thought we'd let you guys choose.
Team direct attack
Re: Team direct attack
Also he isn't stupid, he knows just punching it to see what happens wouldn't probably help (and he might or not might have tried already and might or might have not gotten a new skin color as a result who knows), so if you need your character to be discouraged from doing that he can help as well. This is more for an actual planned attack.

Re: Team direct attack
In terms of skills, he's a halfway decent fencer and a good shot, and very used to fighting. While he's usually the one who builds the barrier and defends it, he could certainly strike if he wished, and he very much does.
I am open to either having him come along, or, perhaps, having him persuaded to stay back because of the little liability issue.

He's already tried going through the barrier, so... well, his bones are going to be purple. So he can also function as a kind of deterrent for other people.

Distraction?
Re: Other ideas
1. It will be noticed.
2. It could open her up to Malicant's influence. Or just being stabbed in the back or captured for interrogation purposes.
Hopefully, her being a nuisance can further others' more subtle attempts. You probably wouldn't even have to tell her your plans.
* As in, 'The beings who the Dragaeran gods used to serve before they rebelled'.

Teen Team?
Pretty much anyone would be welcome to join for the team up. Thus far, additions thrown around ICly as ideas include Bart, Mark, Nita, and Sabriel. OOCly I can think of plenty others who could work.
I think the team could work well for distraction or direct attack. My only preference would be dividing it up into 4 people at most per log (even if there are several on the same mission).
Anyone interested?
