Keeliai Aerial Corps!

Right then! Recent events have finally given Temeraire the kick in the tail he needed to begin organizing what he calls the Keeliai Aerial Corps, which in actuality is more like a ragtag band of volunteer fliers whose names he and Iskierka have in case it ever comes to an all-out physical battle. Not only are they looking for crewmembers, they're also looking to train with people who are capable of flying independently so they're used to maneuvering around each other in a combat situation.

And, you know, you'll get a shiny badge. Probably. So there's that.

If you think your characters might be interested, please proceed below the cut!

Here's what our dragons are looking for:

FLIGHT CREW
Iskierka and Temeraire can each comfortably carry three adults and a child. Because of the foreigner turnover rate, though, they will be looking for at least fifteen to twenty people to get used to flying dragonback and will always be looking to train new people. The only requirements are a good head for heights and a reliable sense of balance, though Temeraire in particular is always looking to adapt new methods of fighting to his style. It should be mentioned that Iskierka is a firebreather and Temeraire is...more like a very loud air...breather, in case your character might want to make use of either of their abilities.

Neither Temeraire nor Iskierka have much patience for formation-flying or drills, so they won't really be doing that. Instead, they'll be focusing on accuracy and maneuverability, which may mean a lot of trying to hit targets with magic/bullets/whatever while flying upside-down. Or doing corkscrews. Or what have you.

Please bear in mind that positions available are flexible and may be changed/removed/invented as needed:

Lieutenant: De facto captain, really, but the dragons are unlikely to call your character that so long as their actual captains are alive and well and in another universe. Rides closest to the dragon's head and calls the shots. Ideally, is an experienced tactician and used to combat in three dimensions.

Riflemen: The heavy artillery. Riflemen will ride on the dragons' sides and deal out damage as needed. Magicians, sharpshooters--it doesn't matter, as long as they're interested in learning how to fight dragonback. People with experience in close combat are also welcome; you can never have too many trained boarders.

Runners: Children are welcome to serve as what are basically glorified gofers in the dragons' home universe. If they do not have combat abilities of their own, their tasks in battle will mostly involve acting as lookout and fetching equipment for the three fighters onboard.

GROUND CREW
For volunteers less inclined to take to the skies, the dragons' ground crew is equally invaluable. Back home, their tasks mostly involve maintaining supplies and caring for the dragons' harnesses, but in Keeliai their responsibilities can extend to developing new weapons for the dragons as well, if they wish.

Positions available here:

General ground crew: In lieu of an actual harness-master, the Keeliai ground crew is encouraged to collaborate on ideas and work on projects together.

Dragon-surgeon: The party healer. Given the weird nature of dragon biology, the surgeon should either be willing to brush up on draconic anatomy or be in possession of the sort of magic that allows one to heal indiscriminately.

Runners: Gofers are just as needed on the ground as they are in the air! There will probably be a lot of overlap in general, though--if your character wants to serve exclusively in one or the other, that's fine; if they want to serve on both, that's great too!

OTHER FLIERS
Of course, there are other foreigners on the turtle capable of flight, too, and it would be tactically unsound to leave them out! If your character is capable of powered or independent flight, Temeraire and Iskierka would like to train with you! After all, it would suck a whole lot if there were an actual combat situation and all everyone did was fly into each other.

---

SO! If you want in on the action, please fill out the form below! There will definitely be one log to start out with where people can mingle and stuff, but other than that I'm thinking this can be a handwaved thing where characters show up for training once a week--and like I said, there can definitely be more than one person per position!

Questions/comments/concerns are all welcome, too!
