THE CR TL;DR MEME

HOW IT WORKS:

1. List your character(s)!
2. Others respond with "what does your character X think of my character Y?" or some variation.
3. Respond to them! Break out those teal deers!
4. Generate some discussion about your CR!
5. PROFIT!

HELLO MON AMOUR.

They need to hang out more often, c l e a r l y. Because she really likes flirting with him, and all of his drinks, and yeah. And Eponine is weird with the help. Because she wants it, but she really really doesn't. Most of her problems, though, have been left in Paris... for the most part.

Lookin' at you, Marius Pontmercy.

She forgot Dick. That's all. Who he is, what he means to her, and pretty much every conversation and moment they've shared together, both back home and here on the Turtle.

Which somehow makes it so much worse.

Okay so, even though when she met Scott he beaten and scratched up by a cyborg rooster, had successfully locked himself out of his suite, and then revealed his suite to look like a really stereotypical bachelor pad...

Bianca actually likes Scott and has a lot of respect for him. The respect admittedly coming after finding out his daughter died, but she likes him nonetheless.

It's hard keeping it together when your kid is dead, or you think something like that's happened. While Bianca has it together now, the Reyes family spent a whole year thinking that Jaime was suddenly just... gone, without knowing what happened. (While we don't get much of an impression on that sort of thing in canon, El Paso is right across the border from Juarez, which even when it's peaceful isn't exactly a safe city, so after they spent a couple months not finding Jaime whatsoever, iiiit's really likely that Bianca and her husband gave him up as being dead in a shallow grave in the desert or something.)

So finding out that Scott's kid was dead and he's still trying to keep it together- acting normal right up until that conversation- meant that she has a lot of sympathy for him; it's a terrible thing to go through, and she couldn't imagine dealing with that alone. Being a parent is hard. Knowing your kid disappeared or is dead, that's something that you end up blaming on yourself, because you're the one who shapes your child.

Overall, he strikes her as a good guy, and the Reyes family does't really judge people. Everyone makes different choices in life, everyone has different opportunities available to them, and all you can do is try your best and be a good person. The only point at which Bianca really judges a person is when they don't own up to their mistakes. Everyone's worth being given chances if they're making it clear they're trying to be better people and are trying to be respectful of others. Active malice, purposeful disrespect, disregard for other people as people, those are things that will get Bianca pissed off at someone, and those aren't things Scott has in him. Conscientiousness counts, and it's definitely something that Scott has in spades, even if he's something of a dork.

No, I kid. My girls love this guy a lot. Victoria won't readily admit it because those are some seriously hard and heavy words for her, but she loves spending time with Jack and Baby Tooth. She probably visits him in his shop when she can get there and pesters him for stories about all of his friends. She's happy she can see him, because it means not all spirits are Bad like Mama was. He's such a huge relief to her for so many reasons.

Meanwhile Julie's pretty sure they were separated at birth or something or just destined to meet and be great friends. She wishes that there were more people like him back home. His personality is so fun. She loves talking with him about everything. She likes that they can have serious conversations and stupid ones. And at present, she especially loves that he's not telling her to stay home and rest until her eyesight recovers.

She hopes for a lot of time with Jack, as does Victoria.

Thor -> Jack

It’s still shiny new, but Thor really respects Jack and of course can see/hear him. Thor knows Jack took a lot of leftover flack from the previous Spirit of Winter, even though it doesn’t mean much to others who have no idea or don’t care, so Jack standing up for his separation from that image is a feather in his cap. He knows how time passes swiftly mortals, even though he doesn’t like it, and is willing to listen if Jack ever wanted to talk about the subject since he’s one of the few people who have been alive longer than him.

They have potential in terms of CR and I can’t wait to see what comes out of it.

Khan -> Stocking

(Khan is my weakest muse and he has practically zero CR, so yay)

Khan still has no idea what to expect from some foreigners, but Stocking was a surprise to him. From what he could make of her, network stalking and his own deductions, he was dumbfounded that so many people have ill treated her just because she's rude when she has such incredible potential. Which, to him, is a possible way of injuring Malicant and that means a way home to where his crew is.

Though he does have a similar feeling towards her like he did for the rest of his crew when they were condemned as war criminals. Outsiders are his weak spot, even though he would never admit it or even know it. I really want to see more of the CR and see if it goes badly or less badly.

Because with Khan, things usually end up bad.

Khan -> Jack

This is the most confusing CR I've ever been a part of. Originally, Khan was just interested in the ice manipulation Jack had, but when he found out that Jack is seriously what he says he is; then ice manipulation gets taken to the curb. Khan hates not being on top of things, and the fact that he can't hear or see Jack (for reasons he thinks are just childish) really nettles him. Even worse when he couldn't prove Jack wrong. So now Jack's an enigma wrapped in a riddle that he wants to solve.

I"LL DO THE EASY ONES FIRST.

Midii ▶ Stocking

Stocking is basically on her "neutral" list right now. Their conversations tend to revolve around Stocking being...Stocking, and Midii not reacting as sharply as most other people seem to. I think in part of that is because Midii is fairly good with reading people, and she was able to tell--for example, with the Canary--that there was more to the issue at hand than the public outburst. Now, this isn't to say she thinks Stocking is all that nice of a person, or necessarily even Good. But she is willing to look past the crass and the language and the tantrums and wait to see if there's more to her.

Midii ▶ Jack

Learning about Jack was...difficult for her. Because, for a while, she couldn't understand why there was this person who was very obviously communicating with her, whom she knew existed, and yet because she didn't believe she couldn't see or hear him. She's so focused on empirical evidence and the importance of cold, hard facts (LOL I MADE AN IRONIC PUN) that she didn't realize she was honestly looking at Jack more as a puzzle to solve than just sitting back and accepting things she could not completely explain.

And there were times when she would almost stop and questioning herself for possibly being fooled. But then he would be so kind to her. Leave her little text messages when she knows he isn't fully comfortable with French. The ice flower at the dance. It made her want to see him all the more, but she still couldn't bring herself to beleive.

Until now.

It's faint. it's...not quite there, but after that conversation with Castiel, Midii is starting to understand not only belief as a concept, but her own beliefs as well. Living on the Turtle is exposing her to all these things and she genuinely can't help but accept them. Especially the good things. Because she's never had such good things in her life, and part of her still doesn't think she deserves them...and yet, here Jack is. His voice. And she's more proud of herself for being able to hear him than happy to hear him for the moment, which is why it's still ONLY voice, but it is a huge step in the right direction.

Basically, Jack's existance is helping her come to terms with a lot of things she grew up thinking, and helping her gradually change that way of thinking to make her more suited and adaptable to life on a magic Turtle. With a little help, of course.

ZATANNA ▶ JACK (How much time do you have?)

These two. THESE. TWO.

I'm not even sure there are accurate words to describe what they have. To do that, I basically have to--once again--go all the way back to their first meeting. Not even the d_m one, though that was precious in and of itself, but the one where she found him buried under a pile of kids, and then they went sledding on an snow recliner all the way into the broken toy shop, where she fixed the little figurine for him and he "bought" it as a keepsake.

I think that, right there, was the most amazing foreshadowing as to what they would have. Because, for the longest time, she saw him as just a big kid. Kind of like a little brother, if only to justify in her mind why she felt so close to this strange boy. He had her sense of humor. he had her desire to cause "trouble", but the fun kind. He understood magic and nature and some things possibly even better than she did, even though he had yet to fully understand his past. And there was that lingering hints of sadness as well, so devastating that she internally decided she wanted to keep him from being sad as much as possible.

The Snow Day thing was a huge turning point, honestly. Because she was actually getting into a fight with Kyle, her precious Big Brother, over him. Granted, a part of it had to do with the fact that this was Magic Kyle was talking about, and she has this inherent need to defend her family's craft, but there's no denying that Jack's "mistake" also played a huge part as to why she was so defensive. She really did believe that his intentions were the most important part of the argument, and that because he didn't know and meant well, Kyle should have calmed down (of course, she sort of knows better now, but we're talking way back when) and was completely unjustified in attacking her friend. And I had to stop and think about it, but you know what? if the same thing happened now...she would still defend Jack. Not so much with all the bias and one-sidedness, but she honestly can't help it when it comes to him.

Because since then, time passed. Things changed, and so did they. They became closer. The best of friends. He's easily her favorite Turtle-met person, and she wouldn't hesitate in the least to call him her Best Friend. She's as comfortable around him as she is with Kyle or Dick, and she has so much familiar/platonic love for him. She trusts him. She knows he trusts her, and wants to prove herself worthy of that trust. Because she knows he's told her things that few, if any, other people know. And she still screws up sometimes (like the swimming thing), but even with things like that, they somehow come out with their friendship intact. She knows he has a crush on her. She knew he had one, but now she knows the crush never went away and it was awkward for like five minutes, but you know what? They came out of that too.

The thing with Korra...I don't even know where to begin. At first, she thought it was cute that Korra had a crush on him, not knowing about Mako, and thought it would be good if Jack liked her back because then her bff could finally be happy. Then everything hit the fan. She mistakenly kept her and Jack's history from Korra, and there were a LOT of miscommunications, and the girls ended up fighting. Pretty badly. Over a guy that neither of them were dating, but both feel very strongly towards. And, in actuality, it was moreso Korra being jealous over something Zatanna tried to explain wasn't a Thing (except it's sort of a Thing just not a Thing-Thing) and then Zatanna getting pissed at Korra being pissed, and completely escalated from there. They have very strong personalities, and it showed. So...yeah...technically not his fault, but GDI Jack.

(It's also almost cringe-worthy to know that if Korra learned more about Things Happening, then the argument would just erupt all over again and then they may end up destroying half the Turtle >.>)

And now this dork is just randomly showing up at her apartment and you know what? She just goes with it. And they have tea traditions together and crack jokes and play flirt constantly and all is right with the Turtle world. Until she disappeared, and you have no idea how heartbreaking that scene where she phased out right in his arms was to write because holy jeebus I'd never seen Jack react so angrily to something. But then he got to make up for it by "saving" her with the paints, and I'm loving that thread even more because it's just so THEM.

Honestly? Deep down, she does harbor a small crush on him. She'd date him in a heartbeat (or lack of one lolz) if she wasn't so completely infatuated with Dick, which I don't think either of them realize just yet. It's a thing, but it can't be a Thing and I think they'd honestly rather NOT acknowledge that it's a Thing. Except now, with the temporary memory loss, it's going to be a bit more apparent and OH MAYBE THEY SHOULD TALK ABOUT THAT AT SOME POINT and by talk I mean go watch another movie and ignore feelings. Good plan? Y/Y?

So, in short?

She loves him. He's her best friend. And she's totally stealing him back to Earth-16 if/when they ever find a way to get home.

Hey there~

Rapunzel enjoys spending time with Jack! She grew up with stories about the frost spirit, so meeting him for real was really exciting for her. She'd like to get to know him better though, because he doesn't seem to share a lot about himself with her. She's really looking forward to winter too, since it will be her first one out of her tower. So bring on the snow, Frost.

This may surprise you, but maybe not, given that log thread they have.

Bianca actually likes Loki.

She is, however, also aware that he's a little hellion, give the chance. Or rather, given the opportunity and encouraged down that way. And even that he's playing up an act for her, to an extent.

But, that said, she really does like him and think that, again, give the opportunity, he's a good kid, even with the penchant for mischief that comes with him being a trickster god. She's aware that he can be a brat, and that he has no problem with threatening people, but she's also seen or been told (thanks to Jaime) that he's also had moments of being nice, even helpful.

The main reason Bianca's willing to go to bat for him, as you put it, is because while in his initial thread with Bianca and Jaime when they were inviting people to a tamale party over the network, he was trying to angle it so that he could annoy people just by being there, he was also surprised by the fact that even after Jaime pointed out that he was a god of mischief, Bianca was still willing to have him over and under her roof.

As far as she's concerned, no one deserves to feel surprised by something like that when they haven't even done anything wrong yet. Taunting and being annoying is one thing, but being annoying isn't some kind of mortal sin. Loki is young enough that she doesn't see it being right with shoving him out of the way for being like that. If he does something serious, that's the point of saying something and taking action, not excluding him in hopes of preventing anything from happening in the first place. That just makes it more likely that he'd act out later.

She's not treating him like he thinks he should be treated or expects others to be treating him, instead, she's treating him the way she thinks everyone should be treated, at minimum.

By now, because of that thread from last month, she's aware that, for all the confidence he shows, Loki's wrapped up in habit and runs with the expectation that he has to threaten, antagonize, trick, and otherwise aggravate others to get them to do things, even when it wouldn't serve him best, to the point of telling her that no, she's clearly wrong, she can't have liked the first impression he gave her.

Bianca's smart enough to not think that he's being completely upfront and truthful with her- god of mischief, after all- but she does want to give him the chance to figure out that people can like him without him manipulating or forcing them into it, even if it takes a ton of effort between her and Jaime to make it happen.

Korra -> Stocking

They don't have a lot of CR to go off of, but I'll draw from what there is. I know that these two would just grate on each other really hard. I think if they did grind it down though, (through all the insults, swearing, sass, and general ass hattery) they'd get actually tolerate each other enough to get along. That's if Korra had her memories. Right now, I find their CR really interesting because Korra's in a very vulnerable spot right now and is missing her ego; that could open the door to some interesting CR. Especially when her memories return later.

Korra -> Jack

Korra has an amazing amount of affection for Jack. He’s nice, helpful, protective of others, stands his ground, and really displays a lot of the qualities she really thinks she should have. That and she thinks he’s very cute. It was just a boy crush at first, or so she likes to think, but the harder she tried to fight it; the stronger it became. At first she just tried to blame it as being a side effect from some kind of spiritual connection. (Yeah, she lies to herself a lot when it comes to Jack) But that only lasted for so long when she recognized it as love, and of course she just tried to dive right into it. (LIKE AVATARS DO)

At movie night, Korra was absolutely crushed to learn (or misunderstood really) that Zatanna and Jack might have been a thing. She’s been in one love triangle already and was on the wrong end of it for a while, nothing she wanted a repeat of. So she asked Jack about it, ready to just drop it if he stood his ground on how he felt about Zee. But the answer wasn’t one she could really see any one side, so she did her usual when she gets completely vexed and just ‘whatever’d out.

Since then she’s really been exerting herself in self control when he’s around, all thanks to applying lessons from one Bruce Banner on emotional restraint, and that emblazoned memory of that brief kiss really makes it a lot more difficult for her. Passion and emotion have always been her main drives, and Jack’s the first person she’s ever had to start holding them both back for.

She’s treating his answer as if it was a positive for Zee and a negative for her and is trying to distance herself from him. It’s kind of shredding her apart and she’s really forcing herself to turn fully towards Mako in an effort to just shut everything about it out. It’s having varying degrees of success, but she’s a complete liar if she doesn’t say she outright hates how it’s making her feel.

So she’s been replacing it all with extra fishing time (hence all the types of new fish), extra hours at the clinic, and her part time job at Bryn’s. She figures if she occupies all her time, then she won’t have time to think about any of that stuff.
