Clark:
Okay so it’s no secret that she reminds him a lot of Lois and Percy reminds him of himself… obviously saving the distances. She’s smart, stubborn, driven and with a permanent need for knowledge- the main difference is that Annabeth keeps to herself, trusting a few and only sharing information when she really needs to and Lois drive is actually to share that information with the world. But he’s alright with having to work for said trust, and the little information he can get out of her is enough.

He also admires her (and all of the demigods, actually) because they deal with their powers, legacy and whatever so well. Clark spent like 20 years of his life hiding from the world because THERE IS NO WAY THEY WOULD UNDERSTAND and now he sees these kids being so open about their powers and who they are and he honestly wishes he had had the courage to do the same when he was their age.

Frank:

One day Frank will show up wearing a ‘What would Annabeth do’ bracelet, for serious. Percy is his best bro and he will die defending him if he has to but he admires Annabeth so much he’d honestly mistake it for a crush if he wasn’t so head over heels with Hazel. Here in the turtle he gets to see Annabeth when they aren’t in the middle of fighting to keep the world from being eaten alive by Gaya- and he isn’t really surprised to see she’s just as badass. She keeps in charge, gathering information like a pro and then sharing it so the team can use it and yeah, she’s just like he always imagined his mother to be in battle tbh.

Also there’s the fact that she doesn’t laugh at him when he fucks up or doesn’t take his powers for granted, she’s actually impressed when he uses his powers and while Frank doesn’t need buttpats he does get a little sad when the team just orders him around to turn into an eagle or a dragon or something, not that he would tell them anything! But it’s nice to have someone in the team who actually acknowledges it takes an effort.

And yes I have a lot of feelings on them tbh

Vic really wishes Loki weren't around. He read a lot about Loki in the X-men's files and heard more thanks to being a fanboy type so he was immediately wary of Loki being on the turtle. Their interactions during the bodyswap and seeing what he did of Loki talking with some others only made it worse. He's worried Loki's only going to make things worse on the Turtle for everyone. The fact that Loki is a 'magic' villain gets Victor a little more riled up than it would if he used another power source but that's just because of the New X-Men's history with Limbo and Magik. The fact that Loki is claiming to be a Young Avenger actually offends Vic too, Vic not believing that a team he looks up to and relates to as much as he does would let someone like Loki join up.

Clark on Bucky:
The first time Clark had seen Bucky around he had seen… a soldier. Not that he thinks there’s anything wrong with that, but he does tend to stay away from certain topics when it comes to them because he knows they won’t see eye-to-eye with them. See: Steve. Clark was aware Bucky was a friend of his but the thing with Steve and Clark was that they got along, but their friends didn’t necessarily get along as well (lol Batman) and he never tried to push it.

Now he’s seeing Bucky as an actual person and not just a soldier! And while he wishes he had met that part of him in another situation he’s glad he got to see it.

Frank on Cassie:
He likes her, actually! But he gravitates towards strong women so that’s not a surprise. He does wonder what is up with all that sadness she’s so stubbornly trying to hide and he will probably poke her a couple times more to make sure he has someone around to talk to if she so wishes (…apart from her father).

Clark on Zee:
Okaaay so he took forever but he’s finally acknowledged he might not have kept the two Zatannas as separate on his mind as he thought he had but in his defense it’s easier when they are both here, like with the Graysons. But hey, better late than never right? And at least Supes had a fairly good relationship with his world’s Zee so if anything it made him more open to be nice to the tiny one.

It’s gotten to the point where he couldn’t be mad at Zee even if he tried. She’s fun and snarky but also strong and determined and he’s really, really curious about what she will grow up to be in her world. He’s probably going to… not exactly avoid her but try to keep their conversations light for a while after telling her what her spell did because he doesn’t want her to think he’s judging or controlling her- which he won’t, Zee has proven after all these months that she might like to joke but she takes magic seriously… which is a relief since hissss magic etc. Kal never hated magic as much as he hated Kryptonite, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t rather people with that kind of power use it wisely (is that what being human surrounded by people with powers feels like?)

AND YES overall, Zee has kind of grown into his mental list of ‘kids to spoil’.

Clark on Aya:
He likes the baby robot already! She seems smart, curious and quick of thought which are all positive things in Clark’s book. He’s also really, really curious about what she is and what she’s made off buuuut he knows better than to get technical about it when she’s so obviously alive. He’s also super curious about her relationship with Hal since she seemed to talk about him with respect!

I look forward to threading more with them.

Frank on Midii:
Okay so Frank isn’t good at kids younger than him in general, probably because he never had little brothers or cousins or anyone younger than him around when he grew up. it’s not that he dislikes them, he just… wants to pat them gently on the head and hand them to someone who knows what they are doing.

But Midii is not a normal kid. He can tell how he got her interested when he mentioned being the roman equivalent of a soldier and a son of the war, and while he doesn’t really like people relating him to Mars that way he’s also long past denying who he is. Also she seemed to have… a bit of a knee-jerk reaction when it came to soldiers and he’s curious where that came from so he will poke around for a bit.

I really like that I can see their friendship being developed whenever I go through my threadtracker and am pretty surprised they’ve actually had a fairly steady relationship so far.

When they had their conflict after Movie Night, it was weird for her to suddenly not have Zatanna to talk to or just randomly hang out with. But I liked it personally because they got to see each other in a different light than what they put themselves in when they’re usually together. Being mad at Zee was difficult at first for Korra, but at the same time, this is Korra so she got there.

There was enough a strong foundation for their friendship that it actually got Korra to just dig in and say she was sorry, that’s something she doesn’t do often on her own. So that tells me quite a bit that Zatanna’s seriously in her circle of friends and not just an acquaintance. What really helped is that she was ready chew out anyone that tried to give Zee heat about the MisSpell event.

As for right now, Korra knows next to nothing about Zee, but she seems friendly enough. That will all change back to the norm on the 12th when she gets her memory back.

Despite that speed bump, Zatanna is a stable CR. Not a complete disaster! \o/

WHAT DOES JIM SEE IN THIS GUY?

Korra's first thought after the apology at the Bacchanal.

But let's backtrack to their first meeting because this is the first CR teel deer for these two.

When Korra's in a bad mood, she can really be the worst teenager ever and she expects people to cater to that. Like at the clinic when she was already huffy because of her previously misguided belief that the GLs were in league with Amon topped off with Jack being sick, whom she was emotionally wrapped around at the time.

So when Kyle doesn’t give her any of the treatment she’s used to getting when she talks to people, Korra resorts to flinging sarcasm and snark at him. She’s mostly an open book simply expects other people to be the same way. Kyle’s not one at all, and that just makes her curious as to why.

Up until her emotional breakdown at Aang’s arrival, Jim was pretty much the only reason she gave him the time of day. After that, her dislike and discomfort around him was forced back a little since not a lot of people could relate to what she was experiencing.

It’s really a perfect example of two people just grating against each other’s nature, not the usual “I’m a good guy, you’re a good guy; so we’re all good.” scenario. Their conflicting dynamic is pretty fun to re-read.

As for right now, she has no idea who he is or what he does. Not until the 12th when she gets her memory back.

Thor has just been flat out impressed by Natasha. She conned his brother.

Let me repeat that.

NATASHA DECEIVED THE DECEIVER.

Thor's seen his brother pull the wool over just about anyone and everyone, then it actually happens to him. I would like to think that's why she and he show up together right before everyone starts arguing in Avengers, and a small factor in his tackling the Hulk; aside from it being the best course of action. Of course since he's Asgardian, the fact that she fought a war that Earth wasn't ready for and did some fucking damage is just epic. Let alone she figured out how shut off the Tesseract. Her mettle is so metal.

There hasn’t been much to change his view, so it stays that she’s a fierce warrior and a steadfast ally.

FUCKING AMON DUDE.

That's usually her first thought whenever he's mentioned. She doesn't think she'll ever be over the things he did in Republic City, and she doesn't want to because to her: they're unforgivable. Even with them being forced to be on the turtle cruise and having to face the same threat, she still raises her hackles. The big brawl they had in August didn't drastically change her disposition, but now she isn’t going out of her way to verbally bash him to any foreigner that will listen. That's a fine line as it is and Korra's thoughts sometimes go to what he told her. Especially now that Aang's actually here. But instead of thinking of it like a rational, logical person would she, of course, thinks with passion and emotion first. So to her, his history will always be against him. Right now, with amnesia, he's some dude named Noatak from her home world with a kind of creepy voice. Now that she’s seen his video post and recognized his voice, what’s up with the mask?

Until the 12th anyway, that’s when her memory returns.

Does Frank have an opinion of Sep yet? They've barely met, but who knows.

SCOTT ON BILLY

Surprisingly, the fact that Scott's first meeting with Billy happened about an hour before Cassie died doesn't really affect his opinion on the kid. Everything was just a wreck at that point and he considers it none of the YA kids' fault (even thought it kind of definitely was).

All that being said, Scott likes Billy. He seems like a kid with a good head on his shoulders and not one to abuse all his crazy magic powers. Also he clearly had a good influence on Cassie because she looked pretty happy as a superhero in those like six minutes he got to spend with her before Doom ruined everything. Any friend of Cassie's is someone he'll consider loose family, so he kind of watches out for Billy on the turtle. He feels a little guilty for not checking in as much as he should but at the same time Billy kind of brings up bad memories. BUT since Cassie's here I'm sure they'll start mingling more since y'know, teammate + dad.

BARRY ON DICK

~~He doesn't swing that way thanks~~ I MEAN. Despite the fact that we haven't had any interacted on the turtle yet, I'm pretty sure Barry has a high opinion of Dick, largely because Dick is Wally's best friend. That means a lot to Barry, since after his death Wally didn't really have many good role models and friends left. He's very grateful that Dick's been there to see Wally through many of the darker times of his life.

My comics timeline knowledge is super iffy but I'm pretty sure Barry's only really known Dick as Robin, so I think he'll be a little surprised to see how much Dick has matured as Nightwing. (I use that term loosely because, well, Dick.) But it'll be good surprise! Dick's competent and knows what he's doing, and he's not a grouchy old man like Bruce (sry Bruce he loves you but you seriously need to lighten up). Beyond that I can't really say BUT YOU'RE COOL IN BARRY'S (OLD-FASHIONED AND REALLY SQUARE) BOOK.

Lots of power, arrogance, not enough control, will likely very willingly learn once she gets why just talent and power isn't enough: in short, he's-- torn between having no strong opinion because she is basically every upper class teenager ever and very strong opinion because she feels more like home than most things, and more like him when he was... well, maybe a little younger than her. ^_^ (Actually also when he was her age, but he's got his own arrogance.)

Also, her having mix of elements makes her a lot closer to what he's like, and in general the whole Avatar cast makes him feel odd because it's so close to home, and so unlike.

And he's just a little unimpressed, because she needs control. And he's almost twice her age. Mind, I think once he takes her under his wing as "possibly the only person who can train her in all of it at once" he'll enjoy swapping thought processes and be fairly fond of her.

Not so much opinion--though she definitely likes him, he's a nice kid and seems pretty sharp. But she'd like to talk to him more, and, well. She gets kind of awkward feels about him, because he looks a lot like Clark, and given his powers, he's just... very much like what any kids of hers and Clark's would be like, if they could have any biological kids. But they can't, and so she feels kind of awkward about it sometimes? And he also makes her miss Chris.

So yeah, feels, but she generally really likes him.

The saddest thing is, Kyle experiencing his loss right now would actually have loved her. Oops. ;;

LMAO Marius is actually kind of trying his best to be a nice frand? I mean he's not doing it very well and he's still kind of stuck in this "such girls much awkward wow" mentality because how do you be friends with girls??

That said! It's difficult for him to dissociate her with the poor people of Paris because she and the other Thenardiers are his main exposure to the less fortunate, so he's pretty much still in the oh you pitiful soul stage and he has yet to see her as her instead of "oh this poor person" but he's trying?? The whole thing with Gavroche leaving that i have yet to tag back CRIES sort of made him see her in a new light, like "oh she doesn't just help con people and stand around being poor and pitiful, fancy that." And he does want her to feel better about Gavroche leaving. But true friendship is like.. Slow progress. 10 chapters worth of slow progress lmao.

Also he gets nightmares of her and the other boys at the barricades sometimes. FUN! 8'D And he's kind of just blocking out her whole death thing because that's how he copes he forgets everything or at least tries to sob.

Leo kind of thinks Eponine is cute. :3 he'd hit on her if he wasn't trying to be a good boyfriend to Vanessa sobs.

ZATANNA ➢ KYLE

FAMBLY.

Seriously. Having grown up an only child, Zatanna never knew what it was like to have a sibling, much less a wonderful, slightly protective, slightly dorky and yet still cool Big Brother. She adores Kyle to know end, and isn't afraid to tell him she loves him because she really really does. They've been through so much together. Good and Bad. Especially bad, because given their personalities, those were some serious issues on both ends that they needed to get through. Not just the respective worlds they came from, but their different personal experiences with the subject (and Zee's strong bias towards wanting to "protect" Jack, whom she saw as a "little" brother at the time). It was a lesson they needed to learn. And, it might have taken forever, but I think they're both finally starting to learn it.

Together.

I think it also says a lot that, when they were talking about other people "abusing" powers, they fought horribly over their respective stances on how to respond...but when Zatanna actually screwed up in her own right? He forgave her. No fighting. Just understanding.

But beyond that, even just being around him in the downtime consists of some of her favorite Turtle memories. They lived together, and because it's them and they already had the relationship they had, there wasn't the slightest bit of awkward between them. It really was like an older brother and sister taking care of each other. I still go back to that one thread where she woke up in the middle of the night to him painting in the dark, shirtless, and how his state didn't even faze her because she was used to Kyle being Kyle, and just remembering how completely touching the whole scene was. The way they hugged each other and talked about things and just ugh.

She talks about him as if he really was her Big Brother, too, btw. There's actually a thread with her and Dick trick 'o treating where she jokes about being banned from wearing fishnets until she's thirty, and Dick asks if Kyle said it, and she comments about how sometimes she thinks he forgets he's not ACTUALLY her brother and she wouldn't be surprised if he tried to give Dick a Talk. (Then they started talking about how entertaining his visual aids might be and something about frog porn and verbal hilarity ensued, but the point is that Kyle was thought of).

And now, with this whole latest setback with the ghosting and the Loss and everything...I really, REALLY want her to go to Kyle (after she goes to Dick, of course) and talk to him about things. Because this was her first experience being manipulated and having something taken away from her and the fact that it was the memory of her most important person on the entire Turtle is basically going to crush her and she won't admit that he was right because then she'd have to admit he was Right, but she's going to go to him because she'll know he'll know what to say. Hopefully.

Basically, big brother Halp. :'(

MIDII ➢ KYLE

Kyle is one of the few adults that Midii currently...okay, maybe not trusts (not as much as she'd trusted Miri, if only because she'd seen Midii's Death/Dream world and learned about her past), but considers to be someone she could go to if she needed help. I think one of the biggest highlights of their current CR was the fact that Midii saw his Death/Dream world, and at the same time, he learned a lot about her just based off her reaction. Or, I guess, rather a lackthereof. Because he had been so surprised by the fact that she was drawn to that horrible door, and when she opened it and looked inside, not only wasn't afraid to wander in, but took in everything around her so calmly, it was pretty obvious she was used to that sort of surrounding.

If he ever confronts her about it, she might tell him. Not the whole story. Not about the Captain and the Betrayal or maybe even Nanashii, but about the War and her little brothers and maybe even her Papa. About how she still feels guilty every time she eats a whole meal and has leftovers, because she'd had to put her life on the line just to make sure her family would be able to eat at all. Why she gets to survive and live in a place that is so much better than the world she came from, and they--more deserving people--were left behind.

Most because she suspects that he might be able to understand.

AYA ➢ KYLE

I've got two words for you: MEGAZORD LANTERN

Okay, but seriously (sort of), I'm kind of amused by the fact that Kyle and Aya met at a not-so-great time, and yet it didn't seem to make much difference. Because the very first thing he did was tell her something she hadn't even realized she needed to know, and then immediately reacted in a way that implies he's accepting her for it. Because, really, that's all Aya wants in life. Love and Acceptance. She's a complicated little bb bot, with very simple desires. The fact that Kyle is a former Ion host with an inherent connection is just going to make their CR all the more popcorn-worthy, because it means they will share a bond like no other. And I kind of like that. Aya has very few people in canon she can call close. Hal, Kilowa, and Razer. That's it. But Kyle easily has the potential to join that list, because in many ways, he will remind her of her Papa. Mostly good ways, of course.

MIDII ➢ MONET

First impression can sometimes leave a bit impact, and I have a feeling that with these two, that will definitely be the case. The short version is that Midii actually kind of likes Monet a little bit. Physical appearances and body language aside, she's smart. She doesn't mince words. She respects knowledge, and was ready and willing to offer to teach Midii by the end of their first conversation without the immediate promise of payment of some kind. (Midii is not above accepting charity if it's in her favor, though she wouldn't object to repaying the kindness at a later time, if possible).

I think what interests me particularly about these two is how, as you mentioned in plurks, Monet really isn't fond of kids. Then again, Midii isn't your average child. It's almost as if their personalities are somehow able to overcome any initial hesitations because they sort of get each other, even if only on that intellectual level. In time, I can visualize the respect forming. The sort of relationship that Midii might be able to form with few others. Trust may or may not become a factor for the Big Things, but for the small things, Midii may eventually look to her for words of Wisdom or even just Advice. A lot of it will depend on Monet's future reactions if and when she starts to learn more about the tiny blonde, but if things keep up on the track they're currently on...this could make for some really, really good CR.

(Then again, it's us, so can we really be all that surprised?)

I love, despite everything, the one thing they ended up fighting over was a boy neither of them are (really) dating. Everything else? Even the whole fighting with her Big Brother thing? No big.

What are their lives?
