CLARA YOU ARE LIKE HER BRO AMONG BROS HERE not even lying, Shayera really loves hanging out with Clara, mostly because they know a lot of the same people, so they can bitch about them, make fun of them, the works. it really gives her someone to bond with, and she's really glad Clara is so insistent on getting better and being of use to people because it shows she's not actually a coward and just wants to get stronger to show off and shit. Clara's easily her best girlfriend on the turtle, and Shayera will go down to her last breath fighting for her, and with her if it came to that. but that doesn't mean she's okay with Clara beating herself up, because Shay's been there, and it's not a fun place to be, and she'll do whatever it takes to make Clara see otherwise. whether it's more lessons, or all the talks she could possibly need.

CLARA IS BASICALLY THAT GIRL SHAY WILL STAY UP WITH FOR HOURS TALKING TO because Clara is just easy for her to get along with. there's no push and pull or anything, they just ease into interacting, and that's what she needs

we could do intro first for a little bit? dialogue can sometimes effect later conversations and whatnot and that's where you get plot holes in CR and stuff, so. I guess it would be Doctor? They'd probably have gotten doctorates in their field.

okay so Shayera seriously loves Dick. he's one of the funniest guys she's met, and possibly the best flirt ever. she especially likes how they just fall into it so easily and can just keep going and going and going. but he's not just all fun and games (which would have bored her after a while), Dick is actually capable of getting serious from what she's seen AND THAT REALLY INTERESTS HER guess what she might like him a little bit ohohohoho. she's surprised the flirting managed to stick for a while, and that their relationship isn't crashing and burning like all the others, so she actually treasures their friendship a lot. she doesn't quite have FEELINGS feelings for him, but she does care about him a great deal more than she would others on the turtle. he's in that special little category of "not sure of feelings, but v important"

Say what you will about Kaine and his being a bad guy or whatever, but Peter's actually fond of him. Partly because he completely saved him by bringing him to a clinic when he was lost and confused and disoriented and panic-injure-babbling. But also because-- Kaine seems to get it. There's something about both of them knowing that they're basically dead that's sort of weirdly comforting. It's nice to not feel like he's the only one thinking that he's really dead and that life on the turtle is all he has now.

Of course, Kaine is obviously quite different from himself. Age and height and gruffness aside, he's just a totally different person. For instance, there are clearly no awkward nerdy genes in there, and the mental censor is non-existent (Peter must start a Swear Jar soon). Couple all that with the fact that he's not one of the clones that Peter knew of in his universe, and Peter just has a weird sort of time thinking of him as a clone. He seems more like an estranged older brother that he's only just meeting for the first time. And - again - it's nice to feel like there's some semblance of family around. An odd family for sure, but still a family.

Peter's also intensely curious about him. He struck out all on his own, and he's not based in New York, and he clearly has a very different philosophy on life than he does. And it's also not just because he's a clone, but also because he's from this alternate universe where there's an older Peter and a white Nick Fury and the Ultimates are called the Avengers for some reason. It pings the nerdiest parts of him in some of the best ways possible. He has so many questions, he can't even think of what to ask first.

Long story short, Peter likes him. He accepts him. And however gruff Kaine's being, he fully believes that he's just trying to hide the good person that he really is deep down. :)

Dick and Damian. Hm. He really likes the kid that Damian is becoming! Literally a kid. Everybody says it, but it's true, Damian has not had the chance to be a kid, so now he gets to, and Dick thinks that it's a good thing. Not fully a kid, of course, but participate in things that maybe he wouldn't do back home? And he has some friends. Actual friends, and they don't just tolerate him. Dick is really proud of him, and I don't know if this makes sense, I can try to explain it better, but Dick can see Damian becoming Robin, not just someone who comes in and in some cray birthright deal becomes Robin, but that Damian can now fulfill what Robin is.

Really simple for Billy and Cassie, because he's not from further ahead. He is so happy to see her here. The Young Avengers are a family, and Billy has been away from his family for awhile now. So both Cassie and Teddy showing up? This is like birthday and Chanukah all wrapped up in one! He's also so emotional about her getting to be with her dad, here. He's that guy who tears up in happiness, so yeah. He's so happy she's here. Buuuut also suspicious, a little bit. There is the whole future deal, which is always in the back of his mind.

Goddamn, but Dick likes her so much. Don't get me wrong, he's got a few ladies dangling off of hooks, because that's just who he is and what he does. But Shayera hits all of the buttons, because there's a lot there that he really likes. Dick likes relationships. He's had semi-casual sex before (he's had a lot of sex before), but it's a lot better if he's in a relationship, because there's the whole connected feeling, as well as the normal. And as I said, Shayera hits most of the buttons for him. She's smart. She's very hot. She has red hair. She could kick his ass if given the chance. She banters with him. And she actually enjoys his company without getting too annoyed with him! He'd like her even without red hair, though, because she's just great to have around.

He really, really likes her. He's thinking of the best way to make a legit move. He knows she's interested as well, it's all just a matter of timing.

I don't think anything's changed since the last time this meme happened /squints. Bean is one of Kyle's People, he'd protect him with a lot more than his life, and always have his back. He's worried about the world Bean's going back to but without the Buggers, feels it was safer than it used to be.

First of all, Scott is alive! I have to get that out of the way, because it's the elephant in the room for Tony that he won't bring up because he's an avoidant bastard until he thinks he can use the information to get something.

Okay, that aside: he's really happy to see Scott again. He considers it somewhat a second chance, even though he doesn't consider it a complete solution (they aren't really them, etc) it is close enough to count. As long as nothing goes wrong, he's happy to take the chance to be around Scott again. He's making the decision to look past the rational answer because he dislikes it, which is selfish and no one was surprised.

He was kind of worried about him at first. He's sort of been stalking Scott to keep an eye on him (shhh), and in this case he's glad Cassie is around to cheer Scott up a bit. I can't call it looking after him because no one would remotely want Tony to be taking care of others, but he is kind of trying to keep tabs and be a little more of the support he used to be. With less money, but that won't stop him either. Scott is a familiar face that is actually rather close to him due to having history so he gets special treatment.

Miles isn't sure what to do with regards to Kaine. He's obviously more experienced than Miles is, and less naive, but on the other hand he's SO violent and gruff and uncaring. Maybe if they get to know each other better they'll get along but right now it's just confusing.

Bean doesn't understand why an adult would want to dress up for what seems to be supposed to be a children's holiday. Mark confuses him the way all non-military adults confuse him. He cares? What? That makes no sense. Bean can't figure out what Mark wants from him, and he MUST want SOMEthing.
