Greetings again, fearless chelonauts! This little post is meant to herald the coming of the second part of the Console Crash plot, which is now live over yonder!

April 24th-30th | HOSTILE TAKEOVER;

Strategically speaking, the intent was to knock out the consoles and bomb the city to cause chaos and mayhem – what's that line? Some men just want to watch the world burn? Well, Malicant wants to roast marshmallows on that open flame!

Given that everyone's focus and attention is presently elsewhere, he is going to be infiltrating the palace and setting up shop there all by his ownsies – providing said ownsies involve rather a lot of his foot soldiers! Ever since Eshai's death, he's been winning over the palace guard by any means necessary, you know the drill. Blackmail, torture, mind control, the whole nine yards. This plot represents his coup de grace to take control of the palace, which represents one of the major power points in Tu Vishan.

What this means:
Evandau probably deserves your censure.
He's a soldier, not an Emperor! During the bombing, he made the decision to leave the palace to aid the police force, where his loyalties and supervision resided too long to simply ignore. This action made in ignorance left it open and vulnerable to Malicant's little plot. Feel free to call him on it! Just don't expect him to go "my bad" about it. Or be happy. Hakuna Matata is not a thing that happens in war, tyvm.

New or respawned characters will no longer be brought into the palace!
Naturally, it's not exactly in Malicant's best interest to continue bringing in people to vanquish him, so player characters will be brought in by the combined efforts of Eva and Milyn working together for a brighter future! This will be conducted in a series of safe houses in and around Keeliai, with the deposed Emperor, the deranged Magician, and the darling Healer staying on the move to keep from Malicant spoiling their attempts at drawing reinforcements.

Characters will now wake on a metal cot, guarded by Evandau and with Milyn immediately checking their vitals, etc to ensure that they were summoned wholly intact. Then, Eva will appear in their line of sight, her arms soaked to the elbow with water - a key part of the magic that brings characters here - and waving a hand flippantly at the care. She'll be apt to say that he/she's fine and that the grogginess will wear off in an hour or two. If it doesn't, try a spot of coffee and you'll be right as rain!

This particular ramification will not come into play for another WEEK in-game (beginning May 1st both OOCly and ICly) as first Evandau needs to realize that he done fucked up and needs a new source for his Foreigner squadron.

Ganon's Castle is now booby-trapped to hell.
Forget those lovely jaunts to the palace, this place is a Sage-made rainbow bridge away from being the unholy lair of a final boss. Remember how the palace turned black when Eshai died? Well, now it's black. And spiky. There is also a barrier around it, so good luck flying overhead to get a closer look, or burrowing underneath to find a way in. Touching this barrier will result in one of several possibilities: characters will lose consciousness, be hit with several thousand joules of amperage, or their skin may be turned some funny colour (sort of like a scarlet letter, except indicating how very nosy a character is!) . The colour does not fade easily and, frankly, it's easier to amputate the limb than scrub it off. Hurts less too, for it doesn't react very well to soaps. Or chemicals. Or much of anything. It sits there, a reminder of the barrier, kind of like the way a sheet will leave a mark on your face if you lie on a fold of it for too long.

The war on the doorstep.
Keeliai is now officially occupied, and things will progress as such. Given that Malicant is now publicly known to be a technopath, and has been setting up spies on every street corner, nowhere is truly safe. Characters are going to need to work a lot harder to keep their activities clandestine. Kedan will begin to amass together in safe houses and outside the city, but they are not a fighting species and therefore need a leader to start even the slightest of resistance movements. Evandau will be actively trying to secure weapons and munitions from police storage houses before Malicant's troops clear them out. Milyn will be helping to save what lives she can, while Eva... Well. She's always been a bit of a wild card.

And all this while the consoles are still dark.
Coordination and communication on the large-scale is in chaos and it's a situation like this where the Foreigners might have the upper hand, but do they? Can they? That's up to you. Does your character have a suggestion or solution for the technology dilemma? Feel free to email the mods (tushanshu AT gmail) or give us a summary of what your character would and could try to do to help the situation.

Have any questions? Please refer to the QUESTIONS section of the comments and ask away! We will answer them in as timely a method as possible. Otherwise, feel free to use this post to plot what your character(s) may be up to during this portion of the event!

NOTE: As a reminder, we now have an active game plurk @ [plurk.com profile] tushan that you can add.

ETA: There will be a "State of the Shell" post going up within a few days of this plot ending, which will detail all the IC changes that come from this plot. It will include format changes (like canon updates) and gameplay changse (like IC reactions and statuses) so that everyone can refer back to it as needed.
