Evening, turtle-ites! Alex here with a twofold post -- the Yard Sale OOC announcement combined with the game's CR meme! We've put them together to reduce clutter in the OOC comm and give one central space in which to plot shenanigans. We'll kick it off with the event summary, then head straight into the meme fun. 8D

Yard Sale
With the rationing being lifted the morning of July 20th, kedan all over Keeliai are going to take to the streets and rejoice in a very unique way. Festival? Nah! Banquet? Been there, done that! City-wide yard sale? OMG YES. This event will run from July 21st - 27th.

What does this mean?
This means that the streets of Keeliai shall become flooded with hastily built stalls, swifly lain carpets, and tables that have been ported outside for the sake of laying out wares that have been long hoarded during the stingiest days of the rationing. Foreigners and kedan alike are encouraged to both sell anything that tickles their fancy as well as peruse the wide varieties of, well, everything on offer. These are the fruits from months of carefully setting aside bits, pieces, and bobs for a rainy day -- only they've brought them out for this happy moment!

And that's it. Really. It's the most epic sidewalk sale that Keeliai has ever seen! A party-style log will be posted on Sunday to kick things off, but first...

What about the darn Tribbles?!
The Tribblepidemic continues throughout the event, with enterprising kedan finding new and inventive uses for the adorable menaces. ~~And Lex fridges a bunch to serve as Tribbletonite against the Supes.~~ They'll still be everywhere, but characters may see them being put to new and unique applications. What kinds of applications? Well... We're taking suggestions! Do you have a way that you'd love to see Tribbles used? Then feel free to make suggestions in the Tribble subheader! (In this post, just below the questions subheader.)

And that's the gist of it! The event is meant to be a winddown after the recent stresses for the characters and a great way for Foreigners to sell off any assets -- or buy some along the way. Feel free to ask any questions that you may have within the subheader provided for in the comments.

Hello, chelonauts! The CR With Me meme is back and ready for action!

When it comes to our CR meme, we do ask that you be as specific as you can! 'Our characters should team up to moon Eshai' is going to help establish an idea of what sort of CR you're looking for better than 'omg tag me.'

We're still using the modified form, including the two sections titled "Current Status" for a summary of what your character's been up to and "CR Goals" for the plotting and discussion of gaps in your character's CR spectrum that you would like to fill! There is also a section specific to the plotting of shenanigans during the upcoming event! (Details of which are available above.)

CHARACTER: Gilgamesh (Archer)
CANON: Fate/
PERSONALITY:
Gilgamesh is based loosely on, you guessed it, Gilgamesh from The Epic of Gilgamesh. Given that tidbit of knowledge, the obvious can be guessed about him: Gilgamesh is a hedonist, he possesses great hubris, and he is a temperamental tyrant who ruled oppressively and tyrannically for years until his own people begged the Gods to give him an equal to contend with, instead. As you can guess, he's not a nice person - nor is he a good one. He's sexist, moralistically challenged, etc. However, he is an Old World Hero, which means he essentially participated in feats that were beyond mortal comprehension at the time, such as punching a monster with the face of a thousand nightmares figuratively in the maw. Or going off the rails in grief and journeying into the underworld to seek out immortality. Mytho-historical things tend to be like that.

Anyway, that aside: He's a fickle, secretly bitter, and often cruel person, but he can and will carry on conversation when he finds himself interested. He tends to enjoy people who hold to unrealistic ideals or people who strive beyond the restrictions of humanity. He's lofty, but he's definitely got a keen eye for individuals who would display traits of those kind of pursuits and behaviors. However, pushing him beyond "neutral" about a character is understandably just as frightening as invoking his wrath, so I tend to give ample warning that he does tend to start playing hideous games with people - such as manipulating them toward what he'd like to see. Or, you know, facilitating risings and downfalls. This kind of interest is rare, mind, but not entirely impossible. He's more likely to just talk to others, so long as they don't tread on him. He expects respect, and expects also to be recognized for who he is. He's, notably, got a very short fuse when pressed the wrong way (which, really, is set off by lack of respect and demands ten to one). He's emotionally inaccessible, stubborn, and discovery of his name won't pay you too many favors if you start uttering names that don't, uh, belong uttered.

In either case, he's fond of his wine and fond of weaponry/curios. And, not to mistake his arrogance with idiocy, he's actually quite intelligent. All hot blood aside, he can talk a mean talk about, say, the philosophy of hedonism. He can talk about ruling styles. Similarly, he likes new and peculiar information, especially if it comes in the form of a person or an object of value (or, rather, what he considers to be of value). He can talk about people in general, too. He's a bit of shit-stirrer, obviously, and he gets bored very easily. He likes dirt on people he's invested in, and people who are peripherally related to them. You know, for his own purposes.

Anyway, he's good with puzzling out individuals. He's dangerous, but if you hold him at an arm's length with respect, he's less potent. That aside, he's very desirous - which is to say he will go right on ahead and flirt with others (and so on), if they catch his eye. Gender has zero bearing on this probability.

BUT: There's a huge list of triggers that go with this individual (here). Please consider them carefully before pursuing CR with him, because I would like you all to be comfortable!

CURRENT STATUS:
He is currently selling some pretty bangin' wine out of the back of Kotomine Kirei's church. You can see some more information about it, here. He won't be hiring anyone (obviously), but I'd love to build up a base and some interlinked networks. He's currently gonna partner up with/trade with Henry, so if you're ever curious about the source of some of it? Here's one. That aside, he's more settled now that the dear turtle isn't ill and he's got access to his powers in some capacity, again. So, he's less... Aggressive? HAHA, yeah, that's not saying a whole lot. At least he's not super disgusted anymore. Still disgusted, though, to be sure. You can look for him later - he'll be the one wearing the ridiculous quantities of gold.

CR GOALS:
I'd like anything, really. Positive, negative, neutral -- I'm not at all picky, though I'll admit that I'd like for him to take interest in someone, though this banks a lot on certain presentations of traits. I'd like to get his usual song and dance started, in order to pick up momentum about how hideous a person he actually is, really. Want someone to play manipulation chess with? He's your guy.

SCENE-DOS:
I could literally go on forever about what I'd like for him. I'm a very plot-oriented person and prefer whatever suits the needs at the time in terms of writing styles. However, what I would most like is someone who is willing to build up to drinking acquaintance CR with him, someone who would take the time to puzzle out his name (because he will not tell you he is Gilgamesh), someone who is willing to be foolish enough to spit out things they really shouldn't (re: certain names), someone who is willing to join in with the Church of Wine Running and Dirt Digging, someone who would like to be manipulated by said church in order to cause nasty schisms... I'd also like several someones he could have casual "flings" with. On the other hand, I'd love for him to get knocked down a peg or two, I'd love to find him someone he'd actually fight seriously, I'd love for him to find someone he'd respect, and I'd really like (eventually) some kind of overarching consequences for his actions. He'll eventually, and inevitably, end up doing far too much not to warrant them. So, repercussions? Please. I'd love them.

SCENE-DON'TS:
The only thing I will not play out is already listed in his warnings. Otherwise? Please. Give me your grand, your hideous, your typical.

YARD SALE:
He'll be poking around, actually. He'll be seeing if anything is out on the streets that is worthy of his interest, whether it be people or items. He looks most primarily for high-quality items. Also, he won't be very fond of tribbles if they start invading his space, so he'll exterminate them or kick them out of his way, I'm sure.

I am terrible. I keep meaning to hit up your OOC post about alcohol and things and I keep forgetting. BUT BASICALLY Bryn is opening a bar and she'll likely be working with Henry for some of her stock since they are friends soooo...if there is something in that sort of range of things that you'd be interested in doing lmk? :D

Nah, no issue! I've been a little on the slow side myself due to illness, so it evens out!

However, that sounds like a fabulous idea to me. If she'd like to meet the supplier at any point directly, I would be up for that. Gilgamesh will be a little particular about who he'll sell to, but if the intention is presented immediately, it won't bother him nearly as much. Chances are, he'll find out one way or another, regardless. He's the kind to hit up bars whenever he doesn't feel like delving into his own stores (which is more often than you think). Actually, depending upon your preference, he could very well be an individual who could "help" with the selections. He's got an extremely refined palate for wines, and for other things of particular quality. So, if you need someone to sort top shelf from the bottom of the barrel in locale that doesn't sort it for you... Well, he could loan himself over if sampling is in it for him, lmfao.

Aaah these sound like fabulous options. Bryn has no reason not to be up front about what she wants the alcohol for since she doesn't have any shifty motives or anything >>

Honestly Bryn will probably be going for a wide variety of things, from fine wines and champagnes to rotgut quality booze. Two buck chuck, as it were. Her own taste isn't as refined so she might leave the higher quality stuff to he and Harry?

Haha, excellent! And, oho. Well, I would make the joke that Gilgamesh has no shifty motivations, but he's... Gilgamesh. And he's selling wine out of the back of a church. And you have to negotiate with the priest to get it. And that's seriously the least of your concerns. S O...

He'll take that up, then. That's right up his alley. Haha. He'll just sort of sort as he goes when it comes to distribution, I'm pretty sure. He's also a beer snob, so chances are he'll always know what to actually suggest, at least for those who would request specifics. ... Well, not so much suggest as say: "I'd not have let it touch my tongue, had I knowledge it was swill," but you know. He hasn't got a very high opinion of local wines, but then when you have what is more-or-less ambrosia in your coffers, everything pales.

That's entirely understandable.

And this all sounds like a plan! When things get going we'll have to thread something :3
