Evening, turtle-ites! Alex here with a twofold post -- the Yard Sale OOC announcement combined with the game's CR meme! We've put them together to reduce clutter in the OOC comm and give one central space in which to plot shenanigans. We'll kick it off with the event summary, then head straight into the meme fun. 8D

Yard Sale
With the rationing being lifted the morning of July 20th, kedan all over Keeliai are going to take to the streets and rejoice in a very unique way. Festival? Nah! Banquet? Been there, done that! City-wide yard sale? OMG YES. This event will run from July 21st - 27th.

What does this mean?
This means that the streets of Keeliai shall become flooded with hastily built stalls, swifly lain carpets, and tables that have been ported outside for the sake of laying out wares that have been long hoarded during the stingiest days of the rationing. Foreigners and kedan alike are encouraged to both sell anything that tickles their fancy as well as peruse the wide varieties of, well, everything on offer. These are the fruits from months of carefully setting aside bits, pieces, and bobs for a rainy day -- only they've brought them out for this happy moment!

And that's it. Really. It's the most epic sidewalk sale that Keeliai has ever seen! A party-style log will be posted on Sunday to kick things off, but first...

What about the darn Tribbles?!
The Tribblepidemic continues throughout the event, with enterprising kedan finding new and inventive uses for the adorable menaces. And Lex fridges a bunch to serve as Tribbletonite against the Supes. They'll still be everywhere, but characters may see them being put to new and unique applications. What kinds of applications? Well... We're taking suggestions! Do you have a way that you'd love to see Tribbles used? Then feel free to make suggestions in the Tribble subheader! (In this post, just below the questions subheader.)

And that's the gist of it! The event is meant to be a winddown after the recent stresses for the characters and a great way for Foreigners to sell off any assets -- or buy some along the way. Feel free to ask any questions that you may have within the subheader provided for in the comments.

Hello, chelonauts! The CR With Me meme is back and ready for action!

When it comes to our CR meme, we do ask that you be as specific as you can! 'Our characters should team up to moon Eshai' is going to help establish an idea of what sort of CR you're looking for better than 'omg tag me.'

We're still using the modified form, including the two sections titled "Current Status" for a summary of what your character's been up to and "CR Goals" for the plotting and discussion of gaps in your character's CR spectrum that you would like to fill! There is also a section specific to the plotting of shenanigans during the upcoming event! (Details of which are available above.)

CHARACTER: Charles Xavier

CANON: X-Men First Class

PERSONALITY: Charles is a true believer in the philosophy that power comes from knowledge and understanding. That the best way to combat fear is through education and that all effort should be made to settle conflict without resorting to violent options.

CURRENT STATUS: Charles was on Team 14 during the last Malicant plot and had a chance to scan the minds of Waxu and also Malicant sympathizers. Though he did not learn much beyond what the police later learned from Waxu himself, Charles is definitely focused on continuing to aid the police in this matter. He also pushed himself, physically, too far and has landed himself on bed rest and some cautious use of a wheelchair until the muscles of his back recover. As such, he has a lot of time at the moment to be thinking and also to be slinking around telepathically more than he might do so when he is actually mobile.

He’s also considering the wisdom of trying to contact the turtle, telepathically. Because that can only end well.

CR GOALS: I would really love to have CR that works with further investigating Malicant and Asti, to try to find ways the Foreigners can help support the turtle and the kedan. He’d like to work on strengthening Foreigner & kedan relations as well as speak more directly with the palace.

Friends would also be good! I’d love some more ‘personal’ CR for him.

SCENE-DOS: I’m open to everything. Action or prose, I like network and logs equally as makes sense for the scene and the characters.

SCENE-DON'TS: If we talk about it first, there isn’t much I won’t give a shot, at least once!

YARD SALE: Charles doesn’t have much to sell but he’ll probably be there, people watching mostly, possibly brain creeping if allowed and if there are any books for sale he’ll be quick to put down coin for those!

Charles do you need someone to catch you when you get turtle-high? Because Arthur knows the appeal of trying it even though people tell you not to but...

Also we should do something with Charles and Bucky. Talking about their team mission or... something.

I would love to do a follow-up of the team mission with Bucky! Just tell me when and where and I will toss Charles at him. :D

Jaime's got a second consciousness chilling up there in his head, thanks Scarab. If Charles passes the stall of the mechanic Jaime's working for he's totally free to pick up on that!

This would be a great introduction. Wandering through a yard sale and finding a brain to creep and one with two consciousness would make his yard sale a success. Do you have a permission page or something I can read up on to know more about Jamie and the second consciousness?

Yes! :D His app outlines the Scarab's powers best, but the DC Wikia would probably be better to find exactly what he'll... find up there. In a nutshell, the Blue Beetle Scarab used to be a weapon and a part of an alien hive mind, but thanks to a lot of factors (especially Jaime's encouragement), it developed its own identity and named itself (Khaji Da, its function and serial number). Charles would probably hear it communicating with Jaime, and if he tried to pick up on the Scarab alone, it would sound distinctly inhuman and very machine-like in its thoughts.

Actually awkward tends to be a default around Charles, so he doesn't always lead with "I'm Charles Xavier and I can read your mind ... or at least try too."

Perhaps they could meet and see where the similar views take them before the 'telepath' bit comes to light?

Yes! I would very much like this as well. The Malicant plot had us all focused there for much of July but Charles will be at the yard sale if she would like to run into him?

Victoria has a five year gap in her education. Would Charles (who she really liked) like to help her fix that?

Also, she would actually not find it too weird if he used his telepathy to find out about her life. I don't mind it at all. She'd be like "oh okay apparently this is a thing some people can do."

He would definitely be up for helping Victoria's education! At his heart he does like to educate after all, even if this version is just starting down that path.

That can be something we could work too, since I don't know that he'd just willy nilly slip into a child's head. However, there is enough concern in him about her situation on the turtle that he may feel it necessary.

She could use someone on the medical team focused on studying the turtle and with the PR skills to deal with kedan officials! Or whatever he'd like to do, really, I just feel like these two would get along really well.

All about the cooperation and stuff, though I don't know how he fits in with 'medical' exactly but he would be willing to work with Shepard!!

He's enough of an arrogant ass that he wouldn't approach it as 'joining', she'd have to prove herself to be someone he'd be willing to follow before he'd take orders per say. But he would definitely be willing to be a resource for her, especially in dealing with kedan officials and studying the turtle.

I agree that I think the potential is definitely there for them to get along well and I'd love to have a chance to run a thread with them and see how they get on!!

Okay, so, Billy hasn't been an X-Men ever, but he's a young mutant who's still getting used to his powers, so he fits into that X-Men First Class deal pretty well? And he's cool with having his mind read! And it would just be awesome to play with a Charles.
