Event | Yard Sale | BONUS LEVEL: CR With Me!

Evening, turtle-ites! Alex here with a twofold post -- the Yard Sale OOC announcement combined with the game's CR meme! We've put them together to reduce clutter in the OOC comm and give one central space in which to plot shenanigans. We'll kick it off with the event summary, then head straight into the meme fun. 8D

Yard Sale
With the rationing being lifted the morning of July 20th, kedan all over Keeliai are going to take to the streets and rejoice in a very unique way. Festival? Nah! Banquet? Been there, done that! City-wide yard sale? OMG YES. This event will run from July 21st - 27th.

What does this mean?
This means that the streets of Keeliai shall become flooded with hastily built stalls, swifly lain carpets, and tables that have been ported outside for the sake of laying out wares that have been long hoarded during the stingiest days of the rationing. Foreigners and kedan alike are encouraged to both sell anything that tickles their fancy as well as peruse the wide varieties of, well, everything on offer. These are the fruits from months of carefully setting aside bits, pieces, and bobs for a rainy day -- only they've brought them out for this happy moment!

And that's it. Really. It's the most epic sidewalk sale that Keeliai has ever seen! A party-style log will be posted on Sunday to kick things off, but first...

What about the darn Tribbles?!
The Tribblepidemic continues throughout the event, with enterprising kedan finding new and inventive uses for the adorable menaces. ~~And Lex fridges a bunch to serve as Tribbletonite against the Supes.~~ They'll still be everywhere, but characters may see them being put to new and unique applications. What kinds of applications? Well... We're taking suggestions! Do you have a way that you'd love to see Tribbles used? Then feel free to make suggestions in the Tribble subheader! (In this post, just below the questions subheader.)

And that's the gist of it! The event is meant to be a winddown after the recent stresses for the characters and a great way for Foreigners to sell off any assets -- or buy some along the way. Feel free to ask any questions that you may have within the subheader provided for in the comments.

Hello, chelonauts! The CR With Me meme is back and ready for action!

When it comes to our CR meme, we do ask that you be as specific as you can! 'Our characters should team up to moon Eshai' is going to help establish an idea of what sort of CR you're looking for better than 'omg tag me.'

We're still using the modified form, including the two sections titled "Current Status" for a summary of what your character's been up to and "CR Goals" for the plotting and discussion of gaps in your character's CR spectrum that you would like to fill! There is also a section specific to the plotting of shenanigans during the upcoming event! (Details of which are available above.)

PERSONALITY: Royally Messed Up former cop who runs some foreigner-led effort at enforcement
CURRENT STATUS: Javert had a recent run-in with Malicant that left him in really bad shape. He will have some trouble readjusting to turtle life and make every effort not to let it show, despite his frequent space-outs. He has also been commanded to attend medical and therapeutic sessions so he'll be buddying up to Hannibal. A w e s o m e.
CR GOALS: Let's start reeling in more cops! Let's start catching more criminals! Let's start doing all sorts of crap together, I'll frolic in a field, I'll toss him in for some beating up! LESSGO

YARD SALE: Javert will probably be haggling for some things. He drives a hard bargain and he's pretty firm on what he's willing to spend... but he could really use an explosive amount of tobacco and snuff right now. You'll probably find him trolling the markets for something to relieve his mental distress.

What's the reasoning for UNSUREing? I glanced over your profile because what I know about Doctor Who I know from other people. DOES HE RECOGNIZE THE CHARACTER LOL OMG

NO HE DOESN'T... at least I doubt he will, this guy didn't even know a quote from Sherlock Holmes so Les Mis is surely kind of out of his league.

But Rory unsures about most things until he knows that they're okay. Plus he's a nurse, he can see when you're in bad shape, good sir. ...he can try and help? Somehow??? idek.

I'm all for this, please, let's. I'm going to be posting a log sometime today... It was meant for like his interviewees (Hoffman and Lin) to come by and rattle him out of his Malicant-induced delusions and haze. But I can include an 'open' section (let me think of it) for other people to tap into!

This is the guy who waited 2000 years for his wife, I'm sure he can manage Javert. Somehow.

So this little girl has a Gavroche-shaped shadow and really I just want her to have CR with all the LEs Mis cast. ESPECIALLY THIS GUY.

I'm not sure what kind of CR yet but.

OH now this is interesting

Does Victoria live on her own like Gavroche, like a little street girl, or does she have a guardian? I haven't seen Mama, unfortunately, but I can definitely read up on it. I have an open log going on right now and if you'd like to run into Javert there, is he actually in a relatively vulnerable state of mind at the moment and a child would make for an interesting interaction, I think. (Especially if you find him alone on a bench somewhere and start asking probing questions like lots of nosy children would)

I'm not home at the moment, but in the evening when I am around for tags, I can read your profile more thoroughly and learn more about Victoria. From there we can play around and see what happens. How does that sound?

Victoria lives on her own, yes. But not in the streets. There are too many people out there. She's happiest in her suite. She's also not the nosy kid type. She'll ask if he's okay because she knows that's what people do. But then won't be entirely sure of what to do from there.

We will definitely have to tag soon.

Oh man. Dick used to be a cop. Which is kind of all I got, I just want CR with Javert in some form, he's amazing.

SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY but yes yes yes yes please let's do this.

I have an open log going on right now, but Javert isn't exactly 'himself' there due to a Malicant run-in so I'm not sure if that will interest you. Are you doing anything in the yard sale that I can interrupt? I'll also be launching an investigation against the Big Green Hulk Monster for some murders from a few months ago once Javert gets his act together.

ALSO Do you want Javert to run into Dick as a normal guy or in superhero mode? Do you have anything in mind? I'm very flexible, and honestly I love all CR with the comic cast, so I will flow with whatever you would like to see. Another good starting point is using Bruce Wayne for a springboard. When Javert first came to Keeliai, he worked for Wayne Enterprises for awhile as a construction site overseer. Wayne now refers people to Javert for 'police'-esque work for foreigners (even though he's a mess right now we'll clean that up sometime).

I'm really excited to get some CR started with you! I'm totally certain we can work out something fun and interesting for us.

Oh man there are so many options! I don't have a thread in the yard sale, but I've been jumping around and tagging other people? But I might be putting something in there, I'm not sure yet, depends on if there's a demand or anything xDD

Honestly, we could do both? I'm not sure yet what Dick is going to be doing superhero wise just yet, if only because Batman is kind of here and he's still processing a lot of everything xD But if he runs into him as a normal guy, that would be great, and it would go well with bringing in Bruce as a starting point kind of thing.

Everything would be good asjdghhds it's settling on one or two that's the hard part! I'm excited, too! I'd love to work something out, I think Dick would actually really respect Javert because he's met cops like him, and. Yeah. And if Bruce refers people to him, even better!
