Evening, turtle-ites! Alex here with a twofold post -- the Yard Sale OOC announcement combined with the game's CR meme! We've put them together to reduce clutter in the OOC comm and give one central space in which to plot shenanigans. We'll kick it off with the event summary, then head straight into the meme fun. 8D

Yard Sale
With the rationing being lifted the morning of July 20th, kedan all over Keeliai are going to take to the streets and rejoice in a very unique way. Festival? Nah! Banquet? Been there, done that! City-wide yard sale? OMG YES. This event will run from July 21st - 27th.

What does this mean?
This means that the streets of Keeliai shall become flooded with hastily built stalls, swifly lain carpets, and tables that have been ported outside for the sake of laying out wares that have been long hoarded during the stingiest days of the rationing. Foreigners and kedan alike are encouraged to both sell anything that tickles their fancy as well as peruse the wide varieties of, well, everything on offer. These are the fruits from months of carefully setting aside bits, pieces, and bobs for a rainy day -- only they've brought them out for this happy moment!

And that's it. Really. It's the most epic sidewalk sale that Keeliai has ever seen! A party-style log will be posted on Sunday to kick things off, but first...

What about the darn Tribbles?!
The Tribblepidemic continues throughout the event, with enterprising kedan finding new and inventive uses for the adorable menaces. ~~And Lex fridges a bunch to serve as Tribbletonite against the Supes.~~ They'll still be everywhere, but characters may see them being put to new and unique applications. What kinds of applications? Well... We're taking suggestions! Do you have a way that you'd love to see Tribbles used? Then feel free to make suggestions in the Tribble subheader! (In this post, just below the questions subheader.)

And that's the gist of it! The event is meant to be a winddown after the recent stresses for the characters and a great way for Foreigners to sell off any assets -- or buy some along the way. Feel free to ask any questions that you may have within the subheader provided for in the comments.

Hello, chelonauts! The CR With Me meme is back and ready for action!

When it comes to our CR meme, we do ask that you be as specific as you can! 'Our characters should team up to moon Eshai' is going to help establish an idea of what sort of CR you're looking for better than 'omg tag me.'

We're still using the modified form, including the two sections titled "Current Status" for a summary of what your character's been up to and "CR Goals" for the plotting and discussion of gaps in your character's CR spectrum that you would like to fill! There is also a section specific to the plotting of shenanigans during the upcoming event! (Details of which are available above.)

CHARACTER: Jor-El
CANON: Man of Steel
PERSONALITY: Stoic Kryptonian scientist on the outside, philosophic unconventional badass on the inside, with a side of PTSD because Kryptonians Don't Cope. Of course, 'unconventional' here is from a Kryptonian point of view, so it means things like endorsing natural pregnancy, free will, and advocating for change and growth in a ridiculously static society.
CURRENT STATUS: He's having an eventful first two weeks on the turtle. Atmospheric differences, surprise family, surprise relatives, surprise powers, the building his suite is in getting partially destroyed, and getting high on tribbles.
CR GOALS: Expanding beyond the Superfamily, primarily. Thanks to ~~an overprotective someone~~ the events that've happened to him since he's arrived, he hasn't really had a chance for that. ~~Also getting CR that'll make Kal-El panic and worry~~. Once the tribble high's not quite as strong, he'll be trying to familiarize himself further with the other foreigners. Science buddies would probably be a good thing for him.
SCENE-DOS: Unfortunately because of the stoicism, he runs at a constant minimum level of TL;DR regardless of RP format. Tribbles aside. I'm good for nearly anything, however, aside from the two things mentioned below. He's also going to be getting a complete crash course in, well, a lot of Earth style cultures and cultural mores because he's basically being dumped in the deep end. You can also expect SCIENCE explanations if a character asks the wrong question, because he's a scientist, and it's kind of ingrained to him. Also, he's going to need practice controlling his surprise superpowers, so people who wouldn't accidentally break in two would be good for that.

YARD SALE: Jor-El might end up browsing, but he doesn't have anything to sell.

Maaaaan Traci is going to want to know more about him once he's not high, because Superman has a dad. WEIRD. HE HAS A DAD. Yep.

The important thing to know is that Kryptonians don't reproduce by sporing or budding, Traci. Of course Superman had to have had a dad.

well Dorian knows Earth culture from 1880 pretty much frontwards and backwards (including some Not English stuff! yeah for travelling in the 50s!) and also if it comes to it Dorian would possibly be broken in two by powers but he'd instant heal and mostly grumble about ruined clothing

He's not that long-winded, so it won't be that bad.

Hayley will continue to bother Jor-El, because she likes Superman and also bothers Clark and Lois all the time. She also likes science and Bruce Banner won't teach her ~~because he's a jerk~~, so maybe she could start shadowing him to learn or something?

He's already ended up trying to teach a dragon and a street child some basic science knowledge.

Someone who's interested but knows some of the most basic bits already would be a step up as far as attempted explanations go. Shadowing'd be pretty funny, since she's already following Lois around.
