I'm extremely curious what Supes thinks of Bruce from their limited knowledge of each other. LOL

Clark has conflicting feelings about Bruce. Yes, already 8D

On one hand he seems nice enough, and he’s smart enough to impress him- which is not easy to do, the man works with a man whose superpower is literally be smart, not to mention he’s best friend with Batman. Kal has a huge respect for smart people like him, especially when they are modest about it like Bruce is.

He’s also seen him be nice to people, even if he claims to be antisocial. He accepted Kal’s cousin Kara as a lab helper and being nice to Kara already wins you a lot of points on Clark’s ‘nice guy’ radar, lbr.

ON THE OTHER HAND! Bruce pretty much outright told Superman he was dangerous, and needed someone to hold him back if he got too far. Sure he made it pretty clear it was more a dual-identity thing than actually himself but Kal takes warning like those very seriously. So he probably keeps an eye on him.

Okay so we know Clark adores the guy, he doesn’t know what it is because to be honest at first he side-eyed him a little (he doesn’t like rude bullies okay) but he’s grown to want to protect him. Probably because he reminds him a bit of what it felt to be Tommy’s age and have superpowers? Kal has lived being faster than everyone else, and he knows how hard it is to not just groan in frustration and do everything himself he can do it faster seriously please you will just take forever.

Kal is… terribly overprotective of teenagers in general, and he tends to take most young metahumans under his wing but the thing with Brandon made him realize how… overbearing he could get so he’s trying to work on that. Since Tommy isn’t afraid to call him on his bullshit he trusts if he stepped over some line he would tell him.

Aaah his baby clone. Okay so Kal had conflicting feelings about Kon since day 1, what with him being made to be his replacement when he died and what not. He really didn’t handle it the best way possible and he knows it, but eventually accepting him in Smallville and the Lex stuff and having him die and come back… I brought home how much he appreciated the kid, like he was his little brother or his son.

And actually that’s the problem! Kal has a big issue seeing himself as the ‘father’, the only time he did that was for Chris and he was a really tiny kid that needed him. He sees Kon now and he’s like ‘wtf am I supposed to do with this kid he can’t be my kid I am not ready to be a father aaah’ and we have a freak out.

BUT if he thinks of him as a little brother or a cousin then it works out better, because then the overprotective instincts kick in and he wants to protect him from everything and do whatever it’s in his hands to help out. He’s as overprotective as he is with Kara and that’s saying a lot, and even more because Kon is only half-Kryptonian and that’s super fragile in Kal’s brain okok.

…Can you tell I have a lot of feelings.

Kal & Arthur and maybe Kal & Bucky because I'm curious?

Okay so Kal and Arthur are both alfa-male, let’s get that out of the way. They bumped heads every now and then in canon, and Kal is aware the only reason they haven’t in this place is because they both share the same goal: To protect the turtle, the people in it, the sea life and eventually go back home. As soon as they get back home their priorities will again be different and that honestly makes him a little sad.

Spending time with him on the turtle has brought it home how much fun Arthur is when he isn’t being the absolute ruler of all, and he allows Kal to be a dork which gives him 1000+ points, anyone who goes sledding with him is a bff let’s be real. But at the same time they can also get work done, like investigating under-water passages inside cities. Arthur is really smart and like I side up there Kal really appreciates smart people who can catch up with him.

So Arthur is a person he can both be silly and play around with, and also be serious and take care of things when needed. Also Arthur gets what it is to have a family to protect, a wife to come back home to and honestly not many of Clark’s friends understand that, Kal appreciates that as well- which reminds me: double dates should happen.

Kal and teenagers are usually not a good match in the beginning, I always say that and of course Bucky was no different. Kal tries so hard but in the end he ends up saying things the wrong way and having them kick him on the face later, and that’s exactly what happened with Bucky.

Kal is also extremely anti-war and pacifist! So he sometimes comes across as condescending when talking about stuff like that and he’s aware of it, but it’s hard to shake those habits off. And Bucky is (to Kal’s eyes) a kid still, so it’s double the awkward for Kal.

I honestly think it will take long for Kal and Bucky to reach a middle ground, not because he dislikes him (quite the opposite) but because there’s too much differences between the ways they see life. Kal is a sweet boy from Kansas who grew up being stronger and faster than everyone else, and Bucky is a hard-trained soldier. They both want to save everyone but in very different ways if that makes sense?

Supey on Bean?

And Supes’ appreciation for smart people kicks in again! He has eidetic memory and a very quick mind so everyone who can catch up with him and even surpass him will pick up his interest sooner or later. He’s glad Bean will be collaborating with Lois because he would hate to see that mind go to waste (not that he thinks Bean would let it go to waste, if the way he seemed to have read back on posts to get information was anything to go by).

Supes is very, very overprotective when it comes to younger people, and even more so meta-humans that are still learning their way around living with their abilities. Clark can tell Bean wasn’t all too thrilled about being considered meta-human so he will do his best to treat him like a normal if smart child but if Bean gives him the chance he will help him out learn the stretch of his brain.

ALSO I’d really like for Bean to meet Clark because it would probably allow Clark to see different sides of the kid and react accordingly! And it would be fun to have someone eventually figure out his secret identity as well.

(A little sidenote to tell you how much I adore your Bean, he was my favorite in the Ender and Ender’s Shadow saga and you’re doing him so much justice, it’s amazing to see)

FRANK -> ANNABETH

and also if Clark's opinions on Annabeth or Peggy have changed :'D

Alright so, to be honest Frank didn’t trust much of Annabeth’s team at first- nothing personal, they were just Graecus randomly dropping themselves in Camp Jupiter with a flying ship??? But Percy vouched for them so he simply went with it and waited to see where things went.

And okay ~~not-really-~~Leo almost destroyed his camp but he still got surprised to see how much he liked these newcomers, and he soon learned that Annabeth was someone to be trusted, and someone he didn’t mind seeing as the leader at all. She trusted him with taking care of Leo and I like to think that meant a lot to him, and of course there’s the Chinese handcuffs things…. Percy is his best friend but Annabeth always says the right thing, and he knows it.

And then here in the turtle… well Frank just got here but while everyone was freaking out (in a good way) because Frank got here Annabeth was the only one who threw all the information possible at him, and while he was a little overwhelmed he still appreciates having someone he can go all tactical and logical with if that even makes sense /o/

First impressions, since we don't have too much CR to go on just yet?

Prussia:
Can you say ‘annoying’? Seriously Clark’s first impression of Prussia was that the guy would eventually give him a headache, if he’s honest. But then they started talking and he was actually surprised to see how logical he could get? And yeah his world really doesn’t make sense to Clark yet but he appreciates that Prussia tried and honestly it doesn’t get any weirder than aliens in a red and blue suit so yeah he can’t be picky.

Toro:
Honestly Kal liked Toro more than Bucky- not because he doesn’t like Bucky, but because at least Toro looked less angry at the world (then again he guesses that’s what dying does to you). Toro simply wanted answers and was grateful when people gave it to him… and again he’s a metahuman! Clark has a definite weakness for baby metas and I’m positive if they talk again in the future he will want to know how much Toro controls his powers and stuff.

Kaldur:
Oh man again Kal’s weakness for baby metas kicks in, but Kaldur seems to be so… in control and sure of himself Kal honestly wouldn’t see him as a kid most of the time. A young adult maybe, but still he wouldn’t get as overprotective as he grows with some people and that’s… a lot to say in Kaldur’s favor. The fact that he offered to help out when Kal suggested some kind of training for metas also tells Kal the kid is a good guy, and he’s on team with Dick and Zatanna which also gives him a lot of good points in Kal’s eyes!

Both on Percy, Supes on Katniss? (THAT'S WHO SHE MET RIGHT)

Percy is Frank’s best friend, even if he’d be hesitant to say it outloud to him since he a) knows Percy had already friends at camp that he had forgotten when he met him b) is aware that they have only known each other for months, at the most (dnw to figure out timelines right now okok).

He’s just the right side of... impetuós and brave that Frank lacks sometimes, and he’s aware of how many things he did because Percy was right at his side. I talk a lot about Hazel but honestly? If Percy wasn’t here he would freak out just as much. The tree of them beat the war games together, went on the quest together... and managed to convince the Romans not to shoot the Graecus on sight together.

Now they are on a strange place and Percy looked so relieved to have Frank here that Frank will probably follow him around for a couple of days until he gets used to the idea of this world :(

Oh man Percy reminds Kal so much of himself saving the distances. He’s a brave little guy with powers that wants to save everyone no matter what the cost is to himself and with a tendency to surround himself with strong women... so yes, there are similarities there.

He appreciates Percy’s determination to save the sea life and how skilled he is with his power set (man Kal was a disaster when he was Percy’s age you should have seen him-) and knows he will grow up to do big things, if he’s given the chance.

But he’s also aware that, just like him, Percy sometimes jumps into things without thinking them twice because if there’s a chance to save someone, he’ll take it. And he’s glad he has Annabeth on his side to stop him, just like he has Lois.
