Awwww, Kal. He is smart and modest and nice! He's just also... really dangerous. Bruce would support his distrust and be relieved by it, honestly. He already thinks of him a little like Captain America in the sense that he's one of those do gooder heroes who actually has the power to stand behind his blind optimism. It makes him think he can trust him not to let the Hulk hurt anyone regardless of what else is going on. Which is a big deal for Bruce, that trust.

And I'll just answer your response here now that I'm on this track... XD But Bruce really needs to get to know him better, because he's been told by like three different people that he's the one to talk to if he needs the Hulk contained. Which he DID of his own initiative, but like, he's really impressed with how frankly good Kal is in wanting to help people. Bruce has always wanted to be like that, and considers it an impossibility for him (lol self-loathing). But it doesn't make him resentful, just admiring and cautious of opening up.
