TEST DRIVE

Itching to try out writing a character? Then rev up your engines, grab your accounts, and slam your way into this meme! Here is a venue for you to try out whatever character there might be tickling your fancy, from fandom to OC, for as few as one and as many as MANY. Seriously, there's no limit.
How do you partake in this fantastic congregation of character testing? Why, by following these simple steps:
- Comment with the journal of a character you want to test; put their name and canon in the subject line for added sparkles.
- Tag around with everyone!
- Profit like you live on a the back of a turtle!
But wait, there's more! For the low, low price of $9,999.99, you can even use one of our handy prompts when you tag someone. You could even pick one with a Random Number Generator to help decide which prompt to go with!
- A Chance Meeting at the Turtle's Head.
Remember, being here causes a great sense of-- well, shall we say inner peace. - Haggling Over Something in the Marketplace!
Maybe someone else saw the exact same shiny thing you did at the exact same moment! However shall this be resolved? Remember: blood is extremely hard to scrub off of turtleshell! - Hey, I Just Met You, and This is Crazy...
First impressions are always the most important, right? - WILDCARD!
Go nuts. Suddenly your character is fighting dragons! Good God, they've found the Millennium Falcon drifting in the ocean! Do you really feel the need to polish every paving stone in the Earth Sector? Please note, Wildcard options are also what you can choose to do if you aren't yet comfortable in the Tu Shanshu setting and would prefer a more 'dear-mun' esque experience. Please specify in your post!

Wait. She frowns, staring up at the woman] Worried? About me, or something else?

[ She sighed dejectedly, though looks somewhat appeased by Katniss' returned touch. Truth be told there was a lot to worry about in this situation, she could only imagine what their disappearance would mean for the game. The atmosphere had already been strangely tense, what with each returning victor only hours away from the arena. ]
They won't be happy with us.
[ A pause. ]
Where are Peeta and Haymitch? We must have a meeting.

I haven't had a schedule in months. Even before I was here. Peeta did, but-- [She cuts herself off, jaw tightening at the mention of Peeta. It's the use of 'They' that catches her attention, though, because even after the revolution, there is only one 'They' she can think of that Effie would be that concerned about]
What's the last thing you remember? [Her hand slips away from the other woman, fingers absently tracing the burn scars on her other palm]

[ It was almost painful to say, but at this moment Effie wasn't about to launch into a lecture on punctuality and the importance of their calendar. She was happy enough to see her tribute and know that she was alright. Despite the fact Haymitch and Effie would seen be sending her off to her potential death among their friends and peers, she couldn't help but feeling a protective instinct while Katniss was still within her care. ]
The last I remember was waiting for your interview to commence backstage, you looked so lovely in that wedding gown- though I think it was a... less than sensitive choice.

[She starts rolling up the sleeves to her shirt, revealing the patchwork skin of her arms. She tugs at the neck a little too, showing the extent of the scarring] The Quell was months ago. The Capitol's been overthrown. No one in this place cares what any of us are wearing. [Katniss: 9865637. Tact and Subtlety: 0]

[ She patted the girl's shoulder supportively. She knew that Katniss made an effort to be more pleasant, but really she didn't need to try so hard. The scars and marks on her arms were likely just a prank of the makeup team, who she knew could take their jobs a little too lightly at times. ]
Wash that muck off and we'll find a place to stay while we wait for the others, its important to look presentable no matter where you are.

Still, there's a part of her that's glad. Glad that Effie's from a time before the revolution, where she can be happily oblivious.]
Finnick and Johanna are here. Cinna, too. They can explain to you better than me. [A beat] Maybe not Johanna.

[ She knew better than to argue with Katniss at a time like this, or the girl would go running off into the sunset- or trashing her room. As far as Effie knew they didn't have rooms yet and she really didn't feel like chasing after her before she was able to change her shoes for a slightly more practical pair. ]
And Haymitch? I can only hope he wasn't sober enough to find his way to one of the local bars.
