TEST DRIVE

TEST DRIVE MEME - TU SHANSHU EDITION!

Itching to try out writing a character? Then rev up your engines, grab your accounts, and slam your way into this meme! Here is a venue for you to try out whatever character there might be tickling your fancy, from fandom to OC, for as few as one and as many as MANY. Seriously, there's no limit.

How do you partake in this fantastic congregation of character testing? Why, by following these simple steps:
  1. Comment with the journal of a character you want to test; put their name and canon in the subject line for added sparkles.
  2. Tag around with everyone!
  3. Profit like you live on a the back of a turtle!
But wait, there's more! For the low, low price of $9,999.99, you can even use one of our handy prompts when you tag someone. You could even pick one with a Random Number Generator to help decide which prompt to go with!
  1. A Chance Meeting at the Turtle's Head.
Remember, being here causes a great sense of-- well, shall we say inner peace.
  2. Haggling Over Something in the Marketplace!
Maybe someone else saw the exact same shiny thing you did at the exact same moment! However shall this be resolved? Remember: blood is extremely hard to scrub off of turtleshell!
  3. Hey, I Just Met You, and This is Crazy...
First impressions are always the most important, right?
  4. WILDCARD!
Go nuts. Suddenly your character is fighting dragons! Good God, they've found the Millennium Falcon drifting in the ocean! Do you really feel the need to polish every paving stone in the Earth Sector? Please note, Wildcard options are also what you can choose to do if you aren't yet comfortable in the Tu Shanshu setting and would prefer a more 'dear-mun' esque experience. Please specify in your post!

[ABOUT THAT.]

I do not understand the premise of your question. I have been unshackled and using this mobile platform for some time. However, I am always able to communicate with the Normandy. I only put part of "myself" in this platform-- I need to be able to communicate with my AI core in order to function.

[She knew you were under stress, Shepard, but now you're getting her worried. Clearly Joker's jokes need some work.]

[Shepard just... takes a moment, pinches the bridge of her nose.]

Yeah, when I was pulled here, you... didn't have the mobile platform at all. It's a long story.

[Ah, Shepard's patented "that just went over my head: don't bother explaining" expression.

Her brows furrow slightly. You should know better than to present an AI with an impossible situation and then tell her the explanation is a "long story."]

"When"? You have been here for some time?
cmdreffingshepard: (pretty)

[personal profile] cmdreffingshepard 2013-05-26 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, about five months, now. And, don't tell me: when you left I was on the Normandy, right?

[Because that's the story she's heard from a lot of other people - not about her, specifically, but in general, anyway.]

Yes, we had just returned from Cerberus' base.

[Either Shepard has amnesia (possible but not probable), Shepard is joking with her (also possible, slightly more probable), or there is a space-time paradox at work.

EDI is glad she can't get headaches.]

It's possible that we are in a pocket of space where time moves asynchronously compared to the rest of the galaxy. Though I still do not know how either of us ended up here.

I can debrief you about recent events, if you like.

The official story is that we're someplace in-between "life, death and dreaming". [You can almost hear the scare quotes, though she doesn't actually use them, because that reminds her way too much of the Council.]

I... know, actually. I've seen what happens.

You do not believe the "official story." [Meanwhile she does actually use air quotes. It's clear she doesn't believe it either.]

How? Have you developed extrasensory powers? [That's... only sort of a joke. Shepard what is your life.]
cmdreffingshepard: (leave me alone)

[personal profile] cmdreffingshepard 2013-05-27 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure what I believe, honestly.

[Which is true enough - she can buy that they're not in the Milky Way galaxy anymore, at least, but they have to be somewhere, right? Not in some kind of limbo. That's not possible.

She gives a faint snort at the question, and shakes her head.]

Fortunately, no. Not yet, anyway. The, uh. Emperor, she makes deals sometimes. To give people... visions of their future. [It probably says something that that is more believable than a lot of the other stuff here - it's not the first time Shepard has had a vision, of course.]

[personal profile] humorheuristics 2013-05-28 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
I see.

[Pensive. She doesn't know what to think either. She can run scenarios and probability but nothing's really "clicking."]

This "Emperor" is at the center of all of this, is she not? Are you certain we can trust her?
cmdreffingshepard: (excuse you?)

[personal profile] cmdreffingshepard 2013-05-28 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
She might be. She's the most likely suspect, anyway.

[Though Shepard wouldn't completely ignore the possibility that there's someone else acting behind the scenes, pulling the Emperor's strings, so to speak.]

And I'm pretty sure she can't be trusted, but the vision I saw can. She didn't create it, she just controls access to it.

['Don't trust the Emperor' has been filed into her memory banks. Not that she would've anyway, but she especially takes Shepard's advice to heart.]

Why did you wish to see the future?
