[Well, Dorian did say he'd be willing to keep Asti company. So he's making the trek up towards the turtle's head, preferring to walk over fly, when he spots a stranger there as well. He hails her with a wave.]

And why can't he? These kedan fellows seem to think he's some sort of god.

For the record, talking someone to death isn't always the best form of persuasion. [ shows what he knows, since the son of the god of death is usually short on words and big on impact. he shrugs, content to offer the free advice from somewhere over Sadie's shoulder. he doesn't know why he says it since he doesn't know her; he's never seen her before. but witnessing the whole finder's keepers, loser's weepers from start to finish brought it out in him. ] But it seems like it did the trick.

Why do I get the feeling those two aren't always mutually exclusive? [ uh, because she's a girl and second of all, people that want what they want and will stop at nothing to get it tend to run like a bulldozer, crushing anything in their path. but as mentioned, he still doesn't know her and that means he can't justify the impression. ]

Fruit? [ he supplies quickly enough and they are in the center of a small market, so it's not that far-fetched even if the way she cuts herself off makes him think she was either going to say something really inappropriate for the ears of children, her boot, or... well, okay he doesn't know what the third option is but he's going to be looking for it now. ] If you ask me, the kedan bring it on themselves. But then again, so do most people.

Are they always this...hostile to people or do they have a problem with green stripes in someone's hair?

Probably a little bit of both. [ he's in no place to pick at anyone's looks but she walked right into it. ] I was told they weren't always this harsh. They don't like us because they don't trust us. [ it's mutual, guys. ] I think they're afraid and that's their way of dealing with it.

I try not to talk to them more than I have to.

Because being hostile to the new people has always worked so well in the past. Ugh.

I guess they figured living in harmony with us wasn't cutting it, so they'd try something else. [ not the brightest idea but if they were here first and the kedan showed up, would they be acting any better? to be told that more foreigners could save you and then get let down and lose a decent portion of your food source in addition to that? ]

Nico. [ he holds his hand out - the one with the skull ring - but he won't be surprised if she doesn't take it. ] I don't agree with them but I understand it.

Doesn't make it any less stupid. I doubt any of us want to be here right now, so why take it out on us?

Because we are here regardless of where we'd rather be. [ he cuts his eyes away from her because the more he thinks about it, the less he wants to be at home. this is bad but it's the lesser evil. ] I think it has to do with not having anything or anyone else to take it out on.
