Event Info: Evandau & Cultist Attack
Immediate IC Effects
The wounds inflicted by the black weapons will be more painful than ordinary wounds and the character will feel a burning-like sensation from the injury that cannot be soothed through any mundane or magical methods. The skin around the wound will turn black as well, with the skin feeling oily and inflamed. The consequences of being attacked and hurt by the cultists' weapons will be divided in 3 groups. We leave it up to you players to decide which one your character will face, but try to be realistic about it!
Repercussions
OOC Information
We (the mods) want to apologize that our replies are slower than we wanted! Things have been very busy IRL especially over the weekend and we appreciate your patience in getting tags back. We are definitely still replying to the attack thread but if you need to have anything handwaved in order to bring your character current with the outline above, please let us know on this post and we'll work something out.
NOTE: If you want to have your character have been injured by a cultist without tagging into the log itself or without having been in the immediate vicinity of the Hotel, that's also fine; that way everyone can play around with the effects. This will last approximately one month. (Though the attacks would have been limited to the city itself, not outside of it.)

- MINOR → Those who were healed at some level (example: waterbending) minutes after they were poisoned, superficial or deep wounds: Minor consequences, the healing will get the poison away. They will only experience symptoms of an illness like nausea and loss of appetite, and suffer pain while the wound isn't healed; once the poison is out the wound will heal very quickly and the scar will disappear completely.
- MODERATE → Those who were superficially hurt and not healed until it was too late: The pain will last for a couple days, a few weeks at most (the deeper the wound the longer it will take to heal). The more they touch the wound the more it will hurt. They will also suffer effects on their personality, becoming easily agitated and irritable over even small things. They will feel flashes of pain if they get anywhere near the Palace. The scar can either disappear or remain at the player's discretion.
- SEVERE → Those who were hurt deeply at some level and not healed until it was too late: The pain will last, and they will suffer recurring nightmares of a deep black void attempting to suck the whole turtle and everybody in it in like a black hole. It's pure darkness, a pitch black that eats all light. When they wake the wound will be incredibly painful for a few seconds. There will be a profound effect on their personality in that they'll have violent urges, and if those urges are indulged they'll feel a temporary relief (like getting a high) before it begins to come back after a few days. They will have a permanent scar anywhere they body was wounded that cannot be removed by magical healing.
Repercussions
- The threads are still ongoing but here is the gist of what has happened: when confronted, Evandau denied the accusations that were put to him. However he was not able to offer any evidence to support his innocence as the cultists' attack interrupted the confrontation inside the Hotel, which then spilled out into the various sectors near the entrances. While Evandau participated in repelling the cultists' attack, he did not go out of his way to assist the Foreigners afterward even when it became obvious that there were wounded. Any attacks which were made at him by the possessed kedan seemed halfhearted at best and they were dispatched by rote. At the end of the battle, he left the area unchallenged.
- Evandau is Not Pleased with the Foreigners at present and has gone to the warded police station. While he won't refuse to see any of them if they ask to speak with him, they'll definitely get a cool and curt reception and Evandau's power nulling effect will be in-force while the character is inside the station. This means that any abilities or powers above those of a normal, baseline human will be inaccessible, barring those required for the character's ability to function. He'll flatly refuse to address what happened at the Hotel and if they press, Commander Celaunn will have them forcefully escorted from the station.

QUESTIONS
Re: QUESTIONS
Valdis isn't human, but her powers allow her to hold a human form, if that power is nullified by Evandau, then wouldn't she revert back into her hound form?

Re: QUESTIONS
Two questions, sorta
(Alternately, if Resurrection by some chance is the sort of thing that would actually help, would it be helpful for her to, ah, misplace the catalyst that lets her use that spell? I know you guys have Plans for later this month, so. Idk, just spitballing.)
Second question/thing is that the only other person where Raine is regarding the attacks appears to be on hiatus now. You said to check in for handwaving -- what I'm hoping to confirm, I guess, is a minor wound in the process of pulling back to the Hotel. Tazendra has been pretty good about shielding and Raine would hit any injuries with healing spells as soon as she could concentrate, so that seems the most plausible.
Re: Two questions, sorta
That's fine, we'll just go ahead and keep tagging on the thread if one person has dropped out. But for being able to continue tagging new posts, assume that's fine for an injury.

Re: QUESTIONS
The thread hasn't quite gotten that far, but I want check if this is okay or not so I can reference the outcome in current threads.

But does the taint vision work only in-person?

Were any NPCs wounded by the cultists during the attacks [by tainted blades]?

Really Late Question.
