LANDFALL, KITHIKA

Landfall | February 12th - 28th

Greetings, chelonauts! We are here with two announcements of upcoming changes to life in Keeliai. The first is about the weather and the second about a landfall! Read on for details!

Weather
Maybe he's bumped flippers with a few too many icebergs or maybe he's just disappointed that Bresilyk was not actually home to Santa Claus. Whatever the reason, Tu Vishan has shifted direction from his slow circling of the northern pole to a more southerly bend. Over the next week, the residents of Keeliai will notice the temperature improving remarkably and taking with it the snow and ice of winter. Don't go expecting tropical temperatures quite yet, though!

The general feel of the air will become springlike and the average temperature will be hovering around the 10C - 13C (50F - 55F) mark. Birds that have been weathering the winter will rejoice with song and a flock of immense gyroshei will be moving in. These birds have wingspans of up to twenty feet and long, sharp bills with which they like to sneak bites of whatever food has been left unattended. With long legs and necks, they are often spotted peeking into unsuspecting windows to satiate their deep appetites. Unlike young turtles, they do know what qualifies as food, so watch out for your pantry, chelonauts!

Speaking of the baby turtles, they will be delighted with this change! Mud and puddle splashing will become their game of choice, but even more than that, they will start taking to the ocean waters with frequency -- both to clean off the mud and to explore. At all times they will remain near the shore and kedan will often be seen flocking to the waters with them, celebrating their development from hatchlings to slightly-older-than-hatchlings.

Landfall (in a bottle, baby~)
The Fog | February 10th - 11th
Commencing the morning of the tenth, a mysterious fog covers all of Keeliai, with no discernible cause. It's thick, black and makes it difficult to see. It can't be swept or cleared away by superpowers (no superbreath, Kent!) and although it doesn't seem to enter houses or suites, it's literally everywhere else. Attempts to scan it with technology lead to unexpected and inconsistent results, with the findings varying from speculation that it is smoke from a coal fire to the occasional reading stating that it is black cotton candy floating in the air.

The Source | February 12th
On this date in history, an NPC will make a post talking about the source of the fog, which in this case is a small bottle mistakenly uncorked by a servant in the palace, thinking it was alcohol. The bottle, this NPC will explain, is one of three long thought lost, and they are considered artefacts from the initial war with Malicant. These bottles – a trinity – represent Life, Death and Dreaming and are in fact 'pocket dimensions' within each plane thereof. The bottle that has been opened represents Death.

The NPC will further explain that the only way to clear the fog and the corruption is to go into the bottle itself. The core concern is that the fog truly will result in corruption, though they know not of the kind of who would be susceptible -- the only solution present is to take on the contents of the bottle. This will be an Emperor-Issued Mandate, and Evandau will expect everyone that's combat ready and capable to make the journey. They can party-up or go it solo (we will not be moderating the group formations for this event, so feel free to group up and plot as you please), but the emphasis will be on going in to address the source.

NOTE: Once inside the bottle, a character CANNOT LEAVE until the corruption is dealt with. This information will be conveyed to the characters prior to entering the bottle so that they understand the risks.

Two event logs will be going up for this event. The first will be for the Swamp portion of the event and the second for combating the dragon. There will be a one-week space between these logs.

A World Within - Inside The Bottle
The bottle is a very beautiful, intricate thing, with whorls and ribbons of colour blown into it. All characters have to do to enter it will be to touch it, its innate magic will do the work from there! The bottle itself will be under guard 24/7 for the duration of this event in an effort to prevent interference with it or the critical mission ongoing inside.

The Swamp
Once inside, characters will find themselves in a thick and murky swamp. There will be a variety of strange noises from creatures of the swamp (buzzing/chirping/croaking/the silent swish of creatures moving through the knee-deep water, characters will occasionally feel things brush against their legs/etc). There are numerous trees, in some places too heavy to get through, and heavy vines that blot out the sky. Phosphorus clumps of pond scum are the only source of light, unless characters can glow or otherwise produce it. The swamp is hot, muggy and humid, uncomfortably so. Also, do you like mosquitoes the size of hummingbirds? Because they're definitely a thing.

As they move through the area, it will seem like the swamp itself wants to stop them. Attempts at flying will be met with trees shifting and seeming to grab at them. Any use of superpowers to try and break the trees will result in eerie, high-pitched screaming as if someone nearby is in pain. If your character wants to roll with that kind of thing, feel free, but any nearby PCs may not take too kindly to the hair-raising noises that will persist as long as any super-powered attempts at breaking the trees are made. Any 'normal' attempts – ie: axes/swords/brute strength – will result in a chorus of whispers throughout the swamp speaking in some unintelligible language, and the trees will bleed a thick, brackish blood that causes burns to those that touch it.

Characters will discover that the trees seem to shrink away from the phosphorous fungi, so anyone who has the idea to scoop it up and, say, stuff it in a bottle will have a handy torch that can beat back the bushes, to reveal...

The Temple Grounds
There is a large, dilapidated temple sitting on the edge of the swamp. The entire ground on which it sits seems to be tilted, as if everything is sliding towards the swamp, and indeed near the edges of the swamp there are several statues that are posed as if they're trying to claw their way out of the encroaching slime and muck. The statues are humanoid, albeit with empty eye sockets and clawed hands. Don't worry, they don't move – much.

The temple grounds are covered with crawling ivy, moss, the muck and slime accumulated over centuries of disuse. There are a wide variety of statues that are broken or half-crumbled, the atmosphere is generally uneasy here. Characters will find, at the center of the grounds, a tree that seems to be the only thing flourishing. If they are to pluck a fruit from this tree (they look so red and juicy!) the fruit itself will rot away in their hands, leaving them with a small, tightly-curled piece of parchment with their name on it. This is a FORTUNE OF DEATH. Don't fear the frightening name, these fortunes will actually bestow – for the duration of a character being within the bottle – a weapon that they can use that will affect the creatures lurking in this bottle world. The weapon may be anything they choose or can imagine, and they will appear twisted and wraithlike in appearance, becoming solid only when the character touches them.

These weapons, however, don't work for free. If a character wishes to use them, they will need to 'bind' the weapon to them with a drop of blood. Whether this is a good or a bad idea remains to be seen.

Note: The same guidelines apply here as did for the Christmas gifts sent by the Ironwood Empreror. Players are free to decide the nature of the weapon that their Fortune of Death bestows upon a character, so long as it adheres to the traits listed above. These weapons are a ONE USE ITEM and are intended to be used in the fight against the dragon. They cannot be taken outside the bottle.

The Temple Itself
The temple has a sort of desolate beauty to it. It was obviously well-tended once upon a time, but now there are silk tapestries rotting on the walls, the paving stones are broken and cracked, the meticulously tended gardens overrun, and great works of art in every medium have been destroyed or damaged. Everything seems to creak and groan, and there are several areas of the roof that are entirely caved in. There is a wishing pond in the center of the temple where people used to throw trinkets, it's considered GOOD LUCK to take something from it, and to put something into it in exchange. A crumbling tablet next to the pond suggests as much, in a language that is similar enough to Latin as to be translated by those familiar.

Surrounding the wishing well, there are three statues that appear different than the rest. They appear to depict... why, your character! At three different ages, those ages being 'child', 'adult' and 'elderly'. If your character chooses to touch one of these statues, one of three things will happen:

IF THEY TOUCH THE 'CHILD' STATUE
The child represents the purity and honesty in the hearts and minds of an uncorrupted soul. This statue will force the character to speak his or her mind honestly and without restraint, for a twenty-four hour period. So what did you think of the Superbowl?

IF THEY TOUCH THE 'ADULT' STATUE
The adult statue represents someone who is straddling two worlds – that of being a child, and that of being near death's threshold. It represents choice, and if your character touches this statue they will be granted a vision of what a 'mirrorverse' self may have been like. In the case of inherently 'good' characters this will mean an 'evil' mirror, and in the case of an 'evil' character it will be likewise swapped over. It just so happens that anyone else standing around will also bear witness to this vision. ALTERNATELY: you can choose to write a Mirrorverse version of your character, in which case they will also remain like this for a 24 hour period.

IF THEY TOUCH THE 'ELDERLY' STATUE
This statue represents the dawning of a life's end, and the first step in a new cycle. It will transport a character to the moment of their biggest regret or their deepest fear, which they will have to confront/battle in order to return to the temple. Other characters can be brought along to help, but be warned, they'll see everything that you may not want them to...

NOTE: After your character touches any one of the statues, the others will crumble away, so please think carefully about which of the three you'd like to use.

The World Eater Dragon
Once the characters emerge on the other side of the temple, they may find that the ground beneath their feet seems to shift as if it's breathing. Off in the distance, there is a mountain that appears to have the same difficulty. This is a massive corrupted dragon, known colloquially as a WORLD EATER. It is corrupted, and has massive pustules of this corruption (which seep black fluid) all over its sinuous body, which is trapped beneath the earth.

There are TWO PATHS from this point. Characters can either band together and attempt to fight the dragon, noted as being the source of the corruption, or they can leave it be and search for other ways to lift the corruption.

IF THEY CHOOSE TO FIGHT IT
Characters will have to attack the corrupted spots in groups. But the dragon, as it's attacked, will become increasingly more agitated and will shake itself free from the mountain (destroying it in the process) to fight back. It's a few hundred miles long, so characters will need to work together to bring it down.

World Eater is an immense and old dragon that is displeased about being awoken (and about waking up with a mountain atop it, to make matters worse). Its key weakness is the corruption and it will howl whenever a pustule is ruptured or cleansed (see below). Those with greater strength and fortitude may find themselves better served by combatting the dozens upon dozens of clawed legs while those smaller in size and higher in precision may prefer to attack the corruption directly.

With each pustule destroyed, there will be a brief eruption of a blisteringly hot goo that will cascade down around the combatants. Once upon the ground, the goo will begin to amalgamate, the corruption reforming into a multi-legged creature that will try to latch onto the dragon (or the nearest living thing) and overtake it. Its bite is a poison of the mind, darkening thoughts with uncontrollable rage and blinding the victim's perception of friend or foe. Everyone becomes a foe and they will fight until the creature that has attached is killed -- a strike to the heart is sufficient. If, however, the creature is left to feed upon the dragon or another victim, it will shrink as it feeds itself into the body, forming into a pustule that will require a renewed attack in order to dispatch it.

IF THEY CHOOSE TO SEARCH FOR ANOTHER WAY TO LIFT THE CORRUPTION
Characters can continue exploring the bottle world, and they will eventually come across a pool of pure, clear water. This water can be used to cleanse the corruption from the dragon and the land. But be careful! It's being guarded by a pair of Fu dogs, who will ask riddles of the characters before they will be permitted near the pond. Those characters that drew something from the GOOD LUCK POND and LEFT SOMETHING IN RETURN will be allowed to pass without answering a riddle. PLEASE NOTE: we will not be supplying riddles, if you'd like one please provide your own!

Once the trial has been passed and your character is allowed access to the pool, they will find that the water is potent but its potency limited. It must be used within four hours of being drawn from the pool otherwise it will lose its effect and the characters will have to try again. There are silver jugs nearby the pool that one can use to carry the water, trying to use anything else – such as a magical construct or something from the outside world, will slowly turn the water brackish and it will be useless at that point.

With each pustule cleansed, there will be a high-pitched scream that denotes the death of the corruption at that point. The pustule will melt away and there will show a brief glimmering of tiny iridescent blue/orange feathers overlaid like scales and a pleasant, warm aura before it fades into a grey haze until all of the corruption is dealt with.

IF THEY CHOOSE A COMBINATION OF THE ABOVE
Fooled you! There is a third option that will allow for defeat of the dragon and that is to combine the methods lifted above. However, World Eater will do all in its power to stop the irritants that have poked and prodded at it, showing no hesitation to stomp upon, chomp down, or bury them in an avalanche of rock and corruption, so it may take a fair share of coordination to deal with it. Leaders and soldiers alike will be needed for this battle, for it is said that only an army can bring the corruption to an end.

Defeat of the dragon by any of these means will reveal a beautiful creature beneath all the corruption. If solely cleansed with water, it will curl back up and renew its rest once more. If the corruption is killed instead, then its body will lay in death, destroyed by the fight that was wrought upon its body. If a mixture of the two, it will be gravely injured and require medical assistance, but will no longer try to destroy those that touch it.

Attempts to communicate with the dragon are met with a blank wall, its consciousness locked down and the creature having no desire to let anything in -- it just spent a lifetime possessed by the corruption and has trust issues, okok?

The Aftermath
Once the dragon is defeated and either killed or spared, the world will set itself to rights. The fog will lift in the outside world, and the bottle's world will become as beautiful as it once was. The temple will be restored, the swamp will disappear and be left instead with a beautiful, warm ocean. There will be bright light and warmth, and the statues will pick themselves up and become people once again, who will interact with the foreigners politely. At this point, characters will be able to choose to leave the bottle and return as they would like.

The World Without - Outside The Bottle
While the battle and cleansing rages on within the bottle, the city of Keeliai itself is not completely spared. The fog which permeates the air thickens with each passing day and, in some areas, the architecture begins to show signs of a black mold that quickly grows into a goo that is blisteringly hot to the touch. Left untouched, this goo will drip down to the ground, where it will begin to amalgamate, the corruption reforming into a multi-legged creature that will try to latch onto the turtle (or the nearest living thing) and overtake it. Its bite is a poison of the mind, darkening thoughts with uncontrollable rage and blinding the victim's perception of friend or foe. Everyone becomes a foe and they will fight until the creature that has attached is killed -- a strike to the heart is sufficient. If, however, the creature is left to feed upon the turtle or another victim, it will shrink as it feeds itself into the body, forming into a pustule that will require a renewed attack in order to dispatch it.

Plain water does seem to dispel the mold and halt its growth, but only for a short time. It's suggested that a purer form of it is needed, and characters who have been canon updated may remember the water in the room there. Evandau will allow SUPERVISED ACCESS ONLY to this pool, where characters can fill silver flasks with the water and journey forth to battle the goo-creatures! This water can be used to cleanse the mold, goo, and creatures that have manifested in Keeliai itself. This water is potent, but its potency is limited. It must be used within four hours of being drawn from the pool otherwise it will lose its effect and the characters will have to try again. Each successful use will clear away all but the fog. Any area or person that has been doused with this water has a 24 hour invulnerability period against the corruption.

Item Requests
In addition to the strangeness within the bottle, characters may encounter items from their home! This is in line with previous landfalls and, as usual, a request must be submitted and approved. Please note that the deadline for items for this landfall is February 10th, at which time the approved requested items will be compiled and posted in the OCC community for confirmation and plotting purposes.

Do you have any questions about the event? No worries! We have included a handy-dandy subheader within the comments of this post specifically for the asking and answering of such questions. Otherwise, have at the plottings, chelonauts!

Also, if you could please take the time to fill this bit out so we can get a gauge of how everyone plans to deal with being inside the bottle, that would be excellent! This is for our records as well as to facilitate any plotting between members, as doubles as a plotting post for all!

Could a Fortune of Death weapon shoot a magical projectile? Like a fireball or something? Nothing overpowered of course, just like, y'know. Ptchoo!

Karin | Lord Henry and Una P.

[personal profile] una_persson 2014-02-06 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Karin
Character: Una Persson
How will your character get through the swamp? She'll power on through by sheer brute force.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? Yes. It'll take the form of a US Model 1917 bayonet.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? No.
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? Not sure if she will or not, but if she does, it'll be the Adult statue.
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? She'll fight the dragon, but will want to spare it if it's not killed outright

Henry will remain in Keeliai being useless and so none of this applies to him, but if anyone wants to get up with shenanigans with him there, lemme know. Similarly, if anyone wants Una in their adventuring party, I'm up for it.

Jake | Rioichi Cooper

[personal profile] sushihouse 2014-02-06 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Jake
Character: Rioichi Cooper
How will your character get through the swamp? Through the trees, using his ninjato to clear a path when necessary and making use of the fungi to light the way/make the swamp recoil. He'll be in his ninja gear for this and trying to keep a low profile, but it's unlikely he'll manage to keep hidden for long.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? Yes to both the taking and the blood-bonding. It would take the shape of a katana.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? He would take some small, apparently worthless trinket and leave a few juulan in exchange.
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? The Adult statue. The vision will depict a Rioichi that became an assassin without honor, mercy, or the faintest appreciation for life itself.
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? He'll fight the dragon, using his ninja abilities to try and attack weak points such as the dragon's eyes and throat. (Rioichi is quick, incredibly agile, and a incredible climber.) When the corruption mini-boss goo things appear, he'd switch priorities to cutting it down so that others could focus on the bigger threat. He would be willing to spare the dragon if it's not killed outright and a cleansing solution was brought into play.

Ixus Naugus | Sonic the Hedgehog (Comics)

[personal profile] ixis 2014-02-06 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name: DEL!
Character: Ixis Naugus
How will your character get through the swamp? On foot once flight is proven to be more hassle than it's worth. He would likely use brute force to proceed, chopping and burning trees that are in the way.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? No.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? He'd probably either leave it alone or take something without reciprocation. If an item was lifted, he'd take a simple gold ring.
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? The elderly version, which would look less like an old Naugus and more like a mutated, twisted Naugus. The child version will be non-existent in his case.
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? Fight! Mercilessly as well. Same goes for smashing any of the little critters on allies as well. If the option arises, he would probably vote the dragon be destroyed, partly out of mercy, partly out of suspicion that that's what it'll take to lift the curse back on the turtle.

[personal profile] relentlesstide 2014-02-06 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Nekky

Character: Arthur Curry
How will your character get through the swamp? Probably by a combination of smarts and brute force in a small group.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? Probably not.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? He will probably take and leave something, because Atlantean and traditions and shit, but I'm not sure what yet. :|a
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? I'M NOT SURE, thinking either child or adult.
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? Arthur would probably advocate a combination of both, starting out with fighting and then turning to the water when that's figured out. He'd also vote to spare the dragon.

SO does anybody want to trek through the swamp with him? He'll probably gather up Kaldur, Mera (if she gets in), and maybe Frank, possibly some others also because he's not a lone wolf asshole and believes in strength in numbers. I'm also thinking about having Arthur lose his hand in the battle because it's a comic book tradition and I like suffering, so if anybody wants to be around for that...

Character: Bucky Barnes [616]
How will your character get through the swamp? Probably brute force and slogging through like a good soldier.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? Possibly. If he does, it would take the form of a Thompson submachine gun and he miiiight blood bond with it?
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? He might or might not depending on what the people around him were doing.
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? I'm thinking adult or elderly, if any, but I have no plans for that yet.
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? Bucky is all for fighting. Whether he would vote to spare or kill it depends a lot on how things go.

Bucky is a soldier and he'd go in armed to the teeth, but he also won't go in alone. I imagine he'll probably go with Jim and Toro, at the very least, and maybe Tony, but also prime time for team-ups? I'd love to get some new CR out of this! I'd also love to have him get hijacked by one of those corruption monsters if anyone would like to have a hand in saving his dumb ass.

goddammit Arthur >:(

On an unrelated note though, would Bucky be amenable to having a tiny hitchhiker ride along as he battles his way through the forest? Because Scott's lazy and Bucky has safety in numbers.

Character: Armin

How will your character get through the swamp?

Armin will bring his full gear, only to realize that it's absolutely useless in such thick foliage. :| He's smart though, and will probably notice the fungus soon enough, and figure out how to use it to his advantage.

Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it?

After taking a chance and blood-bonding with the Fortune of Death, it will take the shape of a staff with appropriate wicked embellishments and an odd, belled end. This end can shoot balls of white energy that hurts things. Because like a normal weapon would do Armin any good, lol.

Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave?

Not having much to give, and not wanting to take more than what he left, Armin will throw in a Juulan and take out a similar coin.

Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch?

I DON'T KNOW, WHO WANTS TO BE THERE TO FIND OUT???????? This part is kinda useless without someone else there to witness it after all!

Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon?

Armin's first instinct when dealing with a large, aggressive thing is to kill it dead, but if anyone can convince him otherwise, he will likely change his tune. Cleansing the dragon is logical after all, it's just not his normal first course of action.

[personal profile] alphatar 2014-02-06 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Sker
Character: Korra
How will your character get through the swamp? Bending all four elements.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? Yes. A pair of spiked knuckles. Yes to the blood-bond.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? Leaving a small knife and taking a pocket watch.
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? The Adult Statue (of course). Korra will become a corrupted Avatar who fully gave into her aggression and anger; harming and/or killing those who threatened her now warped view of 'balance' in her world for 24 hours.
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? Cleansing water. Spare.

Character: Thor
Thor will remain in Keeliai for interactions there.

Al: Superman || Frank Zhang || Jim Hammond

[personal profile] andaway 2014-02-06 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Al
Character: Superman, Frank and Jim the Torch!
How will your character get through the swamp? Frank will be smart enough to realize he can use the fungi fairly quickly. Jim and Kal will both try to use brute force and their powers at first. Eventually Kal would see the fungi, and Jim would power through :V
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it?

Kal will because he's curious enough to touch the fruit even if he wouldn't eat it, and he'll get a fancy-looking sword. Jim and Frank would sideye the fruits so nope.

Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? Kal will leave a coin, and take something not valuable from it- something little.

Frank will leave one of the candies Milyn gave him and take something that would catch his attention but not too big... something bright, a simple coin maybe.

Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch?

Kal will touch the adult statue which will MAKE HIM EVIL. THINK JUSTICE LORDS SUPERMAN FOR THOSE WHO KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.

Frank will touch the elderly statue and see his grandmother's death (or nor death, he never really knew if he actually died) when their mansion burned down as it was surrounded by monsters that wanted to eat Frank. People are welcome to come with him!

Jim will touch the kid and be honest.

Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon?

Jim will fight the dragon, but if someone tells him about the water he'll want to try that too.

Frank would actually want to try a combination! And he's a really good soldier and a literal son of the war so this is kind of his thing aw yus.

And EvilKal would first try to talk with the dragon and take over the world with him, then kill him when he doesn't listen because fuck if he's going to be under someone, even a dragon c:

Kiki | Damian Wayne, MCU Bucky, Cassie Lang

[personal profile] demon_brat 2014-02-06 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name:

Character: Damian Wayne
How will your character get through the swamp? Leaping from tree to tree, probably. Damn birds.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? Yes, a set of shuriken; and yes, he will.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? Take and leave, not decided on what.
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? None, or child or adult.
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? Damian will go on to try to find out more, before he fights, because that's what he's found out works against bigger enemies - information first, actual fighting later. He'd also adhere to his promise, especially if it comes to voting.

Character: Bucky Barnes (MCU)
How will your character get through the swamp? Slogging, how else? Though he might consider climbing trees over the harder patches.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? Yes, a Tommy gun, and yeah, he probably will, just out of the sheer joy that he'll get to shoot again.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? Unsure. He wouldn't take without leaving something, though.
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? None, or adult. With Winter Soldier as mirrorverse.
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? Bucky would fight it. Though if people get to discussing what to do, he'd vote sparing/cleansing.

Cassie will be staying outside, and trying to combat pollution there. She might get a creature latched onto her, maybe.

How will your character get through the swamp?
» He... will defer to Spock and Jim to figure out how to get them through LMFAO Maybe he'll help in figuring out that the trees don't like the phosphorous fungi, depending on how the plotting goes.

Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it?
» It'll be a phaser. He won't be forming a blood-bond with it, however.

Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave?
» He'll be taking a small, nondescript trinket and leaving a few juulans in return, because he doesn't trust it enough to leave something of importance. He just wants to see if what the tablet says is true. There is no harm in trying don't say a word, Spock !!

Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch?
» Elderly. It'll take Pike and the characters that have gone with him back to the Captains' Daystrom Conference, right in the middle of Jim asking Pike about Khan, and Pike saying "James, not now." The vision will end at his death, whether or not Pike has been able to confront it or not.

Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon?
» He'd go to the cleansing water and solve the riddle, because he'd be useless in a fight. He'd vote to the spare the dragon.

Player Name: Elle
Character: Anne Bonny
How will your character get through the swamp? Try to race the trees, resort to brute force as needed, but she'll likely end up teaming up with others (if possible!) and would help make torches if someone noticed the fungi.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? Yes, a sword, one-handed but hefty, and yes, she'd make the blood-bond with some squinting.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? She'll switch one of her necklaces/pendants for one from the fountain.
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? If alone, the elderly. If in a group, probably none of them.
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? She'd not think to fight it on her own, and would end up looking for another way to defeat it (though she wouldn't think to purify it tbh) so it's up to the group.

Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? after observing other people, yes. It would be an Iron Man-style repulsor gun thingy. (I will provide a link when not at work) EDIT: LINK!
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? no
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? he'll touch the Adult statue and face his mirrorverse self
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? he'll follow along whatever someone else suggests, probably a combination of fighting the corruption while other people use the water. He'll vote to spare the dragon, unless it's in so much pain it'd be better to let it die.

I'm open to other people's input here. Miles will likely follow along other superheroes he knows like the Avengers and/or Spider-People.

How will your character get through the swamp?
»Probably picking the safest route since it's 99% likely he'll consider the whole thing the equivalent of an away mission and be sticking with the Trek crew.

Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it?
»A phaser, and no blood-bond because why would you do that. Pew pew!

Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave?
»He won't take anything and will be side-eyeing Pike doing this he doesn't need to say anything, eri, it's in his eyes!!.

Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch?
»Middle one. Official Mirrorverse issues of AOS!Trek are #15 and #16 if you want to read up on what to expect from the vision. Basically, Evil!Spock has a beard and everything else suffers because of it. Oh, and he murders Jim. WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE.

How will your character get through the swamp? Probably with the help and determination of his friends. I know at least one other is going as of this moment. Otherwise, through sheer determination.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? Yes. A double barrelled hunting rifle from the 1820's-30's,like his from home, and yes. It's the only sort of weapon I feel like he can be trusted with.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? Yes. He'd leave his earring and I'm not yet certain what he'd take.
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? The adult. He's already fought through his greatest regret, so...
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? That's going to depend, rather heavily, on the choices of who he is with. On his own, he would use the water and spare the dragon, but in a group this may well change.

Clara Oswald

[personal profile] parallels 2014-02-06 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Player Name: Ru
Character: Clara Oswald

How will your character get through the swamp? Making someone carry her. By trying to go the safest and cleanest route. Making use of the fungus as best she can.

Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? Yes, it will be a small knife. No blood bond because that's weird.

Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? She will take a small ring from the pond and toss in a few of the juulan coins. She's always been fond of wishing wells deep down. Plus curiosity man. Curiosity.

Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? I'm thinking the CHILD or the ELDERLY.

For the Child, Clara will obviously be forced to be truthful, which is tough because she keeps a lot of her feelings to herself and has a very carefully constructed outer image. So she'll let the bossy control freak side of her go absolutely crazy while confessing her feelings and insecurities everywhere! She'll be really mortified.

If I did the Elderly, Clara's worst fear would be being completely alone after losing all her loved ones. People would witness her losing her mother as a young girl, being ripped into pieces for the sake of the Doctor, only for him to abandon her as he goes to die without her leading to a dark world where she is completely alone.

Basically I am undecided but leaning towards child

Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? Cleansing water. She's much more into riddles than fighting. She would want to spare the dragon.

How will your character get through the swamp? It's entirely possible that she'll figure out that the trees don't like the phosphorus clumps everywhere, but that would take her some time. Otherwise, she's just gonna wade through, hopefully with a buddy.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? Nope.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Nope. She's boring.
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? I can't decide between The Child and The Elderly, so plotting will decide that.

Character: Gabriel
How will your character get through the swamp? Well, he'll try to zip through angel-style, but that won't work out. So, he'll grumble the entire time he wades out.

How will your character get through the swamp? Hey, Booker, remember those vigors you have?
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? Yes. The weapon would be a small pistol, but she would not form the bond.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? Yes. She will leave a coin, and take something akin to a small stone.
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? The old-age statue, bringing her to the New York she is prophecied to destroy, to face her elder self.
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? After touching the statue, she'll return back to the turtle. Too much adventure for one day.

Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? fight and vote to spare it once it's clear it's not a threat

Player Name: Brandy
Character: Tony Stark (MCU)
How will your character get through the swamp? By sheer bloody-minded determination. Unless he realizes that the fungus works. Then he'll use that.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? It will form a gauntlet with a repulsor, not unlike the Mark 42 Iron Man armor. He will form the blood-bond with it.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? Tony will take an odd metal coin from the pond and leave a small screwdriver in return.
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? Tony will touch the child statue.
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? Tony will fight and advocate sparing the dragon once he sees what it really is.

Player Name: Chel
Character: Bruce Banner
How will your character get through the swamp? With patience and persistence? He doesn't have any weapons and he'd rather not Hulk out for something like that, so he'd take his time until he eventually thinks of the phosphorescent fungi trick.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? No and definitely not.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? Doubtful.
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? Child!
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? He's going to Hulk out voluntarily to fight the dragon (gasp, look at him, making progress!) and I miiight do the Hulk getting corrupted briefly. Since he will be the Hulk at that point, his vote would be an emphatic smash. I mean, kill.

Character: Miles Vorkosigan
How will your character get through the swamp? He will hide behind his squadron of burly titan shifters. :> THEY GOT THIS.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? Yes and yes. It will be a boot knife, much like his grandfather's that he inherited.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? No.
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? Child again! My characters are deceptive, what can I say?
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? Both. Miles and his hastily recruited squadron will briefly split up, some to investigate and some to scout out the dragon. Miles is a pro at riddles so he will have no trouble getting water, and then they can meet up again and do the fighting. He would vote to spare the dragon.

Roy!

[personal profile] cowled 2014-02-07 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: AS ABOVE SO BELOW
Character: Bruce Wayne, Jim Kirk, James Kidd. I play approximately one too many people with the initials JK.
How will your character get through the swamp? Bruce will figure out the phosphorus almost immediately because ~Batman~, Jim is probably going to rely on his science bros, Kidd is going to quietly observe other people like a goddamned ninja and as soon as another group of characters figures it out, will also use the fungi.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? No on all counts. My bunch is way too collectively suspicious. YES, EVEN KIRK.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? Bruce won't touch it, Jim is going to flip a coin into it but he won't take anything, and Kidd will put a few coins in and come out with a small bootknife.
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? Undecided, currently. It'll depend on who they're with at the time. EXCEPT BRUCE HE'S NOT TOUCHING ANY OF THAT SHIT.
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? All three will fight, all three would vote to spare it and Bruce would probably incapacitate anyone who tried to argue because Bat reasons. He's a jackass.

RE: PLOTTING! I'd really like to use this event as a springboard for some new (and maybe cross-canon/medium CR?) I don't have enough free time to go totally crazy here or anything, and I've already promised a few threads (two with Bruce, one at least with Kirk) but I would love to be able to weasel a few more in there if anyone's looking for a team-up. For Bruce, younger people would be preferable since he's going to be trying to lone wolf it as much as possible but he does have a soft spot for the under eighteen crowd. For Jim, literally anything goes because he's a people person. For Kidd, anyone who is competent and doesn't ask too many questions would be ideal. If any of this sounds cool to you, hit me up! o/

How will your character get through the swamp? One forceful step at a time.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? A hunting rifle with gauge, and no blood bond.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? Nope.
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? Elder with visions of her defensively killing Nick Boyle.
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? Kill if have to, but she'd rather spare.

Player Name: Zak
Character: Kurt, Kon-El and Dinin
How will your character get through the swamp? Kon will just try to fly and blast things with his specs. Kurt will walk because he isn't going to chance teleporting into something and Dinin will trudge through until he sees the fungi because it's a lot like home so he'll be attracted to it and then figure it out.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? Dinin will, it'll probably take the form of a sword and yes, he'd blood-bond. Unsure at first, but yeah. The others will give it a miss.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? No.
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch?I don't know yet for Kon. Kurt wouldn't touch any, just look at them. Dinin would touch the adult one, a good version of him is enough to make him vomit :D
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? Kon, not sure, probably a mixture of both once they hear about the water. Kurt, both as well. Dinin would just want to fight it.

Player Name: Sarah
Character: Sabriel
How will your character get through the swamp? She'll start out trying to burn and cut her way through, but eventually she'll figure out that using the fungi is a better option.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? She'll take one, and it would take the form of a sword, which she wouldn't blood-bond with.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? She'll leave a few juulan, and take a silver, skull shaped charm.
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? Adult- she'll get a vision of herself as a completely evil necromancer. Students and other close CR may see themselves as reanimated corpses in the vision.
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? She'd start out fighting, then switch to cleansing when she finds out about the water, and she'll work to heal its injuries once it's cleansed.

She'll also be teaching both combat magic and healing to any of her students who come into the bottle.

[personal profile] mythically 2014-02-07 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Player Name: hallie
Character: diana of themyscira
How will your character get through the swamp? diana will probably try to use flight and force, at first, but would quickly desist given the reaction. i'd love for her to team up with either new cr or old to figure out the phosphorous? she'd be willing to help anyone who was trying to figure out an alternate way through the swamp, even if she doesn't find the solution herself.
Will your character take one of the weapon-fruits? If yes, what form would it take, and would they form the blood-bond with it? low-hanging fruits are too hades for diana to really trust them, so no.
Will your character take and leave something in the Good Luck pond? Only take something? Only leave something? What items would they take or leave? diana will probably drop one of her earrings into the pond, and take something small in return. a ring or some other kind of trinket?
Which of the three statues - if any - will your character touch? the adult one, i think. i want diana to interact with others' visions and transformations too, so i'm thinking her response will only be the vision (pending other plotting.) the elderly statue is also an option (and the vision would be of her and maxwell lord), but i'm thinking the adult one is a better option at this point. plus, who doesn't want to see this diana in action?
Will your character fight the dragon, or use the cleansing water? Would they vote to spare or kill the dragon? diana would vote to spare the dragon, and would likely be part of any quest for alternate solutions/end up finding and using the water!

i am really interested in new cr/more complicated interactions/team work! so if anyone would like to plot please come at me.
