A TEAL DEER APPROACHES. YOU CAN (PET IT) OR (STAB IT) OR (RUN AWAY). CHOOSE WISELY.

CR TEAL DEER MEME

How to play? Reply to this post with the characters you play, people will then reply to you asking 'What does X think of my character Y?' then zoom around and ping other people in the same manner to generate some CR chatter! This is a good way to see where your current CR stands and what your characters secretly think of each other.

LOIS

[personal profile] cowled 2013-02-13 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Bruce:

Lois: the one that got away.

Well, not really. But the fact remains, there are few women out there that Bruce feels more warmly towards. Lois is smart, intelligent, strong, quick on her feet and she's basically pitbull levels of determined and Bruce admires her probably more than any single civilian-type person he knows (outside of like, Alfred and Jim Gordon). He's also not afraid to actually more-or-less be himself around her, which is rare, and because she's so damned perceptive he knows that he has to pick and choose what he's lying about. It means that he's a lot more... honest with Lois than he is with most other people.

There is no one he'd rather see trusted with Clark's secret and very few people he'd rather be trusted with his own. He thinks she's awesome, and although he'd go out of his way to protect her when she's in over her head, he also wouldn't step in if all she needed to do was break some thug's nose for trying to steal her purse or something. Because his respect of her absolutely extends to her abilities (FASTEST LEARNING CIVILIAN HE'S EVER TRAINED TROLO) and he's smart enough to recognize that Lois prizes her autonomy of self extremely highly. He wouldn't want to compromise that.

(Luckily Lois is also smart enough to realize that sometimes a girl's just gotta call for Superman. Or their on-again off-again sometimes-husband Batman.

Because I'm sorry those three take turns being almost married)

He also likes the fact that Lois isn't afraid of him. At all. Ever. I mean, Batman can get the entire assembled League to shut up with one look but Lois is just like EXCUSE YOU BRUCE DON'T PULL THAT SHIT WITH ME and it's. Refreshing in its own way because it means he doesn't have to be That Guy around her. Which ties back into the whole 'he can sort of be more himself around her' thing and it's just. IT'S NOT SOMETHING HE PARTICULARLY THINKS ABOUT ON A CONSCIOUS LEVEL but subconsciously he appreciates that more than I think he could ever articulate.

Lois is his freakin' bro, okay. That's all there is to it.

Brandon:

Brandon actually doesn't have a problem with Lois. Oh, they've argued and she pissed him off and he did likewise and he definitely think she needs a Reality Wake-Up Call but he doesn't really have any long-term bad feelings about her. CLARK ON THE OTHER HAND but no.

I'd love to see them interact more because I think Lois is the sort of person that would do him worlds of good even though he doesn't know it yet.

SEPTIMUS

[personal profile] cowled 2013-02-13 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Bruce:

I haven't had a chance to read the zombie stuff but if it happened the way it's been explained to me Bruce is going to want to punch him right in the teeth. That's it. Accept no substitutes.

Of course I'll need to do some reading before I can come up with anything more than that because I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE THAT THREAD IS (and I can't load the zombie event post without my internet crying out in the oil field sob sob)

Brandon:

NOT SURE WHAT TO THINK OF HIM AT ALL. On one hand Sep is a nice guy which sort of makes him twitch the same way he gets twitchy about Clark, but on the other hand he's just so. Laid back about it? He gets a lot of really weird feelings about him and isn't sure what to do about it. Mostly he doesn't trust him, but he acknowledges that he hasn't really been given a reason *not* to...

I think he'd benefit from hanging out with him for a bit and just kind of chilling, tbh. Sep is so grounded it might do him some good in and of itself.

Aisha:

Aisha is torn between absolutely hating his pacifistic ass and wanting to pat him on the head and tell him to leave the complicated stuff to the adults.

She definitely gets the sense that there's more to him than he's letting on about. And he reminds her of Fahd, who was her best friend from childhood and a man she dropped everything and went to basically stage an extremely elaborate rescue of when he was busy being off tortured in prison. His idealism is... quaint and not something she particularly believes in for herself, but she recognizes that he believes in it, and she thinks he'd probably fight to defend it as well.

She also just likes arguing with him. He counters her points with a lot of conversational skill and she finds that intriguing. She wants to know more about him, definitely, but she'd much rather piece things together on her own than actually ask.

Still, of all the people she's met so far he's probably the closest thing she'd deign to consider a 'friend'. And she wouldn't have a problem doing his dirty work for him - ie if someone needed killing and he didn't want to do it she'd gladly do the requisite dispatching!

Which they'd probably then argue about. Or something.

But yeah. BASICALLY SHE EQUATES HIM WITH HER BFF FROM AFGHANISTAN AND THAT MAKES HER BOTH PROTECTIVE OF HIM AND WILLING TO ARGUE HER HEAD OFF AT THE SAME TIME.

It's a good balance.

Re: Bruce: the thread isn't done yet (mostly my fault), but I think we settled that they're in Wood Sector on the 22nd or something, Sep ends up having to control a fire and leaving Dick to help civilians, and things happen.

...that conversation will go well.

And re: Aisha: so she equates him with her BFF from Afghanistan and he equates her with a less nightmarishly terrifying ex-fiancee who had him murdered. oh-kay then.
