Regardless of whether it's true or not, Santo knows/thinks/assumes that Annabeth is obviously Percy's girlfriend. She seems kind of serious and realistic, at least in that she won't put up with Santo's poorly thought out ideas, but that's actually a good thing. He needs people around him that will tell him to shut up and sit down every once in a while. This (unfortunately?) means, he'll probably be annoying her more in the future.
