Percy is, without a doubt, the most important person in Annabeth's life. TRUST ISSUES UP THE WAZOO but he managed to gain hers completely, and there is no one else she'd rather have on her side, for anything. He became such a constant in her life, a stability she never had before, and even though she's still not sure how to deal with that sometimes, the important part is that he's still there. (Which is why it hurt so much when he went missing, because wow you stupid idiot, how could you do that to her?) So now that he's back, especially after practically a year on her time, she's extra clingy and she doesn't care - because that time apart really made her realize even further how much he meant to her. After he arrived, she literally has not been happier on the turtle.

He lets her relax. She doesn't feel like she has to be 100% tough and brave around him, and she knows he would never ever make her feel stupid over it. She's less afraid of potential blowback from anything. For all the confidence she already has, he gives her even more. Because if he's there with her, she can do anything.
