She's intuitive enough that he doesn't really feel the need to go out of his way to explain himself although he did that anyway lbr and he likes that. She's smart and a little sad. He can tell that her life hasn't been the easiest (REID HONEY NO...) but that she's a strong person and he hopes that doesn't change because she's incredibly genuine and went out of her way to be genuine in his general direction

which is a really weird, kind of rare thing for him. AND THEN SHE CALLED HIM A 'FRIEND' AND HIS BRAIN SORT OF SHORT-CIRCUITED IN ALL THE WORST WAYS because the idea of someone just saying that so casually when all their body language points to the fact that they actually mean it is just. Not a thing he encounters a lot. COMICS POWER OF FRIENDSHIP MEET CRIME PROCEDURAL TELEVISION SHOW. AND HOW.

But he definitely appreciates her and he really enjoyed their talk and IF HE WERE A FEW YEARS YOUNGER OR SHE WERE A FEW YEARS OLDER he might try ask her to coffee after like a million failed attempts. ('Hey I read a book last night do you want to go for coffee? no that sounds dumb' he says to his bathroom mirror)
