lmao Damian is very, very good with swords. And other pointy things. Like deadly good. So if there was teaching/sparring, it would be learning both ways.

*snorts* also Damian grew up in a 'kill or be killed' mentality. He first started learning there is something else when he was ten, and still doesn't completely buy into people actually... not really wanting that. So, basically, he'll try to win (and not kill, because he promised), but it wouldn't surprise him in the least.
