Hello again, turtle frands, Froda here! I've got some minor plotting/CR hooks that I'd like to toss out there, to see what kind of interest there might be, as Arthur is kind of a tricky character to play and he's unlikely to talk about a lot of this stuff on the network because LOL a lot of is it not legal (at least where he comes from).

- Naturally, he's interested to see if there's any form of dream sharing going on here, and he'll be quietly poking around/doing some research to see if he can find out. This will definitely involve making some criminal contacts, but also possibly some contacts on the right side of the law, too! He'd be using his alias as someone who ran his own private security firm back home, so if anyone has any characters who might be interested in being contacts for him, let me know!

- Related, he'll also be (very quietly) searching for someone with enough knowledge of chemistry and willingness to participate in some potentially shady deals who would be able/willing to reverse-engineer somnacin for him, with the hope that they would then be able to produce the drug themselves (and thus be able to supply Arthur if/when he needs it).

- He'll likely use his "private security" alias to try to get a (legal) job that will afford him access to as many resources as he can, particularly technology and information/database access if there are any to be had here. He'll probably put up a network post within the next couple of days in order to do this, but I'm happy to plan something out in advance!

- He'll avoid costumed superheroes and supervillains as much as he can, as well as organized crime, but I'm totally down for eventually getting people poking around his business affairs!

- Ultimately, he may start doing some dream sharing jobs on the side, if there's any interest from people who would want to get their characters involved in that kind of thing. He has a PASIV, and if he can get a supplier for somnacin, it's a pretty lucrative business where he comes from and he also just... really likes doing it so yeah. In the long-term, I'm more than willing to go down that road/explore those possibilities!

Obviously, I don't expect much, or any of this to happen immediately, I just figured I'd toss a post up to share some of my ideas and maybe get the ball rolling on some CR for this guy, since he's kind of a secretive asshole and he's not about to just advertise his plans on the network. Also, if any of this wouldn't be feasible, if it would be setting-breaking or whatever, just let me know - I don't have much of anything set in stone right now, I'm mostly just trying to open up as many potential CR hooks as I can right now!

I'd definitely love to toss Bruce at this, either as himself or Batman or Devin Craig, which is one of his (many) Tushanshu aliases. tbqh there are so many plot-related aspects they could get tangled over that I'm a little at a loss to figure which one would work the best! :|a

I'd also love to throw Aisha at him since he's the sort of guy she tolerates and tbh I think she'd be interested in his line of work (she's a war vet climbing the walls with nothing to do) so if we could roll with something like that I'd be super pleased.

Haha yeah I guess hmm, it depends on what angle you'd want to go for first! He'll probably recognize the name Bruce Wayne though he wouldn't say anything about that, but he'd be really guarded because I'm sure he has a vague idea of who Batman is, etc. If that has any effect on what you want to do, at least the Devin Craig alias wouldn't raise any alarms with Arthur.

And yes, yes yes to Aisha! Arthur has a military background and I headcanon that he did a tour in Iraq before he got pulled into dream sharing and NOPE'd on outta there, but yeah getting them networked up - and he'd be happy to show her the ropes, so to speak, if she was interested. Arthur knows all about boredom, he needs stuff to do, too. XDDD

I would probably prefer that Arthur not have any inkling of Bruce Wayne = Batman, since that's been my 4th walling policy so far. I don't care if people want to know one identity or the other but since secrecy is super important to the Bats I've been asking if people are okay with having no knowledge of that particular connection, which I believe is the policy for all the Bats across the board. I definitely think I might go with Craig, as he's a professor and would have an ~academic interest in what Arthur's up to. :|a

Ooh yes that would be lovely. She's from Afghanistan specifically but if he did a tour in the middle east at all her interest would definitely be piqued.

And yeah I could totally have him mention something more ~theoretical~ about dreams maybe wrt this place being an "in-between", maybe as a way to get some more above-board contacts that might be interested in dreaming and dream sharing. I feel like he's happy to talk to anyone about it, the legality or lack thereof is just a non-issue for him. *g*

And yeah that's awesome, he'll be pretty open about the fact that he was in the army so wheeeee. I'm excited!

Which said, maybe he can get Bucky into trouble somehow. He was a resourceful kid before the Prohibition ended, I'm pretty sure that, while he'd have been careful that people weren't hurt, he'd have been involved in some stuff.

Of course, now he's with the superheroes, so that would make the situation interesting. ;)

Well would Bucky be okay with helping Arthur get his hands on some potentially-illicit but not-really-dangerous things? Because hey, even the good guys sometimes have to work outside the law, amirite?

If told it's not really dangerous, he might. Good reason for people who know him to be all, Bucky! because he's been keeping his nose clean, here. Good chance to change. Also, I'll work on being more timely in responses.

Hehe yeah that sounds good to me! Arthur is a cautious guy, too. So he won't let Bucky get hurt. Probably.
