GAME ITINERARY | DECEMBER 2017
Hello chelonauts, we've arrived at the very last itinerary for Tu Shanshu! We want to thank all our players for sticking through with us to get here.
This one does not have some of the familiar sections that you've come to expect, because the entirety of this month will be focused on the events leading to the conclusion of our endgame before we transition to the new game.
Previous months can be found under this tag.
Here's what we've got lined up for December 2017:
In Planar News...
Meanwhile, in Keeliai...

So that's our outline for the month of December! If you have any questions about these happenings, please use the Questions comment below. Otherwise, this post is free space for monthly OOC plotting.

In Planar News...
THE CHOICE MUST BE MADE
WHAT THE THUNDER SAID
These are the voyages of the turtle Tu Vishan. His one-year mission: to see the Foreigners safely through the planes; to seek out new life, and new ways of living; to boldly go where no world turtle has gone before.
Unfortunately, not everything is going to go exactly as planned.
Within the first few days of the month, as the planes start meeting more closely and visions of death and past ghosts become yet more frequent, many people will also begin having dreams and visions of a solemn-faced teenager. Some will recognize him as the projected image Tu Vishan has used to speak on occasion; those who don't will quickly be brought into the know.
The damage to the Planes is continuing to worsen, he will relay. Some of the recent effects the city has experienced is been partly due to his efforts to curb and mend those fractures, although he admits he's been largely unsuccessful... and in some cases, he fears he may even have exacerbated the problem. It may not be possible to repair the Planes externally while confined to only one of them.
Tu Vishan will go on to elaborate -- concisely, but with certainty -- that there exists spaces between the boundaries of the three Planes themselves, not unlike cartilage between bones. These spaces are necessary in order to keep the three realms from constantly colliding against each other, but it is also the only space from which the entirety of the Planes can be viewed. It is his intent to travel between them to further assess and attend whatever damages he finds.
There is a caveat, however.
The Foreigners are bound to Tu Vishan through the soul gems, anchoring them to the Life Plane with lesser connections to Dreaming and Death-- but there is nothing to anchor them to in the spaces between those realms, and should Asti make that shift, they would be lost if still bound to him.
Thus the only course of action he sees is to deposit them -- all the Foreigners -- into the Dreaming as they once were after Malicant's defeat. He will erect a temporary anchor in the Dreaming, following the constructs of the spell once used by Evastelei when she accidentally did the same, providing them with a safe cloister to wait until his re-emergence to the Life Plane and he can retrieve them. He estimates that, like the previous stint there, this will take approximately one year.
One other option remains. He knows that the Foreigners were drawn here against their will, and although there are many who've forged new lives for themselves in this world, there are many who yearn to return to their own. While he has been studying the problem for some time, he believes there is now a reasonable chance of successfully returning people to their own worlds as promised: the exact place and time they were taken from. When the inevitable question arises -- will we keep our memories of Keeliai? -- he has no answer. It's possible, but he cannot promise it.
Either way, they cannot stay in Keeliai during this time, nor anywhere in Konryu. To do so would not only put themselves at risk of being torn apart by the planar rifts, but would endanger millions of the native population. So Foreigners will have the two options: to take the opportunity to return to their worlds, or to enter the Dreaming while the planar damage is addressed. Whichever option they choose to take, both will commence at the height of the lunar rise, the Winter Solstice.
Log Note: Serious Life Choices will have a mod-posted event log.

WHAT THE THUNDER SAID
During the time that Foreigners are left to make their choice - or say their farewells, once a decision is made - the chaos of the planes colliding continues. Strange glitches in The Matrix time continue, with brief periods of repetition or glimpses of buildings that appear older. The weather takes a drastic turn, unable to settle for any real length of time, or in any one area. One section of the city may experience a torrential downpour, while another receives sunshine, and yet another is dusted with snow. The intensity of the weather swings on a pendulum as well, from the most moderate of days to a tornado to a sudden, bitter cold snap. The inconsistency makes it hard to plan attire, much less any sort of regular activities.
Thankfully, any injuries resulting from bizarre weather events are relatively minor, although there is a spike in illnesses resulting from the abrupt changes in temperature and humidity. The greenhouses and hydroponic facilities help stabilize the food supply as planned, which is at least a silver lining.
In addition to climate change in a bottle, there are some other odd events, like aurora balneis - light displays akin to auroras, but only located in bathrooms and lavatories around the city. They're harmless, but distracting. The skies will turn all the colors of the rainbow at some point through the month, and moonlight sometimes grows incredibly dim despite not a cloud in evidence.
Log Note: Crazy Weathers will not have a mod-posted event log.

Meanwhile, in Keeliai...
The Guilds are in a panic - particularly due to the garbled correspondence from other nations that detail far more drastic effects from the colliding planes. Sending aid would be futile. Most seem to be focusing on mitigating the damages around the city, providing relief and shelter from the adverse weather conditions.
The Healers Guild will have quite an effort in front of them with the rash of injuries from angry ghosts and peculiar natural phenomenon. Law enforcement will be cracking down on widespread looting and trying to keep the peace as more and more citizens of Keeliai succumb to panic. Scientists are desperately searching for some manner of solution, even if only temporary.
There is a certain divide in the Guilds among Kedan - some have abandoned them completely while others have doubled down on their efforts. The latter are the ones most frequently seen first when disaster strikes, offering aid, but there have also been incidents that have escalated to almost lethal violence between them and the Kedan who have opted to jump ship.
After TuVishan’s announcement, things do take a turn for the better - after all, hope is not lost if the Great Turtle himself is on the case. Still, there’s an air of melancholy over the city’s inhabitants - the shift into another plane will mark a drastic change, and while the futures of the Foreigner’s are relatively secured, the long term fate of Keeliai and the Kedan seems to be somewhat in question.

As of right now, our timeline for the game changeover looks like this:
[In Character]
December 1-20: Foreigners are given the information by Tu Vishan to make a decision about staying in the Dreaming or returning to their worlds. Planar disturbances continue to cause havoc in Keeliai and across all of Konryu.
December 21: Tu Vishan does his magic mojo, dividing up the Foreigners depending on their choice. Those who want to return to their worlds will disappear from Keeliai, and those who are staying will be shifted into a temporary space in the Dreaming.

[OOC]
Following the 21st of December, there will be no more Foreigners in Keeliai ICly. OOCly however, players are welcome to continue existing threads through the end of the month and into January as they wish! With holidays happening, as well as school and work commitments, this is a slow time anyway, and we don't want to rush people wrapping up 5+ years of story!
At this time, we are planning for a soft launch of
khuioduan beginning on January 20, at which time the first Test Drive Meme will also be posted and a preliminary reserve cycle will be opened. The game will formally open on February 1, 2018. The core pages with all the information are still being written, but we hope to have them all completed by the end of December.
Posting in Tu Shanshu will be closed as of February 1. As mentioned, we will not be deleting or archiving anything, only closing the comms to new posts and replies.

[Important! - TRANSFER CHARACTERS]
At this time, we'd like to take a headcount of what characters are being transferred to Khu Ioduan, so that we can make sure they're marked as already taken in the new game and we don't run into someone else wanting to reserve or apply for that character. If you could post them to the noted comment below, it would be appreciated!
So that's our outline for the month of December! If you have any questions about these happenings, please use the Questions comment below. Otherwise, this post is free space for monthly OOC plotting.
