Those who consider Malicant a dark god whose end was unjust are the cultists of Keeliai, and they aren't always so easy to identify as one might think. Sometimes their presence is felt in the growing urge to give into one's darker instincts, especially in such a foreign place...

Every city has its vices, and Keeliai is no different. Perhaps you actively sought it out, or perhaps an opportunistic dealer saw you as a potential customer needing a free sample, but you're now in possession of a packet of Lucid, an emotion-enhancing drug. Interested in finding out what happens when you crush that colourful crystal and ingest it?

Tu Vishan's latest landfall stop has brought an unwelcome problem to its residents: enormous, toothy creatures who look more like pterosaurs than most people are comfortable with! With a twenty-foot wingspan, these aren't exactly harmless local wildlife, and they have a nasty habit of swooping down on targets both Foreigner and kedan! How are you going to fend them off, or help someone who might have been injured by the latest dive bombing??
(Please note: This scenario isn't applicable to becoming game canon if you choose to app your character, as an alien pterosaur attack is a major event.)

[After stepping beside the man and forcing himself into the conversation, Reese plucks a pin from his duster.]
Especially when I got this to offer.
[With a little effort, some magic flows into the pin causing it to glow with a bright amber light.]
Whaddya say there friend?

Oh now, look at the shine on that thing.
[Tarquin knows magic, though this kind isn't quite his type. Still, he adds to the effect, using a cantrip to make the pin 'sing' when moved. It's a faint, clear tone, one that holds and fades with each movement.]
And that sound, my goodness. My knife sure as hell doesn't do that.

Ya see? It might just be a pin but this here thing is worth three times as that little blade.
[So far the merchant looks enthralled.]

[Now that's a deal the merchant can't agree to fast enough. Reese tips his hat to him with a smile before giving Tarquin a serious look and turns to leave. He really hopes the other man follows.]

[And he puts some effort into looking it too, though it seems more like an awed 'I wish that were me' rather than anything hostile. When Reese turns to leave, Tarquin gives both him and the merchant a nod and sets off on his own way.
He doesn't want it to look like him and Reese know each other, else they might stir up some skepticism from the merchant. But he keeps his pace to match Reese and once they're out of sight, falls into step beside the cowboy.]

With a deep breath Reese pushes away those angry thoughts. The man didn't mean any harm, and if he did, well he isn't about to let a handful of words get the better of him.]
