+1 Detective Brat

 Hello!  It's Lel again. Because I just couldn't resist adding another character.

This time I'll be bringing in one of the greatest deductive minds of modern Japan. He's only seventeen, but he's already built a reputation as a genius detective who can solve any case, no matter how complicated.

...And due to being a reckless idiot of a detective, he's currently living in hiding as the worst pretend seven-year-old ever.  

Conan is a determined skeptic that does not believe in magic, aliens or ghosts. Whenever he's run into one of those before it has always, always been a hoax put up by someone trying to get away with a crime. Good luck explaining things to him.

A permissions post has been put on his journal here for his observational abilities. Like Sherlock Holmes, Conan can take one look at a complete stranger and put together some very accurate guesses on their employment, hobbies and recent travels. Comment there if that is something you want to play with.

Oh my god, Conan. I love that manga/show, I used to play Hakuba back in the day. It's so nice to see him him, I can't wait to see the bitty detective get in trouble.

And yeah, It was when we rp-ed in livejournal but I played him for a few years. He was fun but tricky. You know how detectives can be. I also played Aoko, and in the game I was in we had quite the Detective Conan/Magic Kaito cast.

I can't wait for the snark. People's going to try to mother him then.

It was called Dramadramaduck. I am not 100% sure if it's still around but it was one of the old ones.

The back acting is the best part, Imo. Yeahhhh good luck with that and good luck with the souls gems too. I'm sure Conan will get a kick out of those.

I played in DDD for a while! Though it must have been at a different time, because I don't remember a Hakuba. And I don't think I had Conan there.

Ahahaha, I'm hoping there's another character here who's tried to science it before and he can get a vaguely plausible science explanation. Otherwise its back to quoting Holmes about the impossible or conspiracy theories about everyone lying to him.

I joined the game in 2008 and left around 2013, I think. So it was a really long time ago, yeah. Who did you use to play?

Poe can tell you how much it hurts to get separated from the soul jewel because Hux did that to him :/ but thankfully he got it back fairly quickly. Aside from that, he's not exactly a scientist sorry kiddo.

Oh, it was a long time ago. I don't even remember what year it was I was there. But I got talked into sending Danny Phantom there. I think I was just there for a few months.

I don't think I remember Danny either, hm. It was my first game ever so I have really good memories about it. Even if I was terrible back in the day.

My first big game was Discedo. I still remember it pretty fondly. Even if it was mostly doing horribly traumatizing things to my characters.

Was Discedo the ones with chars getting wings? I think I apped there, got accepted and then got terribly busy with work and had to decline it....

Doing horribly traumatizing things to the characters is 70% of the fun, let's be honest. Poe has been in Tushanshu less than a month and he's been tortured by Kylo and Hux like, twice. He had shot Kylo with his blaster too,t hough.

Nah, that was Luceti, I think. Discedo was the one that trapped characters in an abandoned post-apocalyptic city with horror monsters everywhere.

Ah, the fun of having enemy castmates.

I am absolutely down with Conan figuring out that Desmond is an Assassin-in-hiding, that bartends as his cover. I think they'd be fun to play off of each other :-D

Oh man, Desmond could so break Conan's brain with the Apple of Eden. He'd be all "It's not supernatural, but literally advanced technology from before the dawn of human intelligence". And Desmond could tap him for spying stuff, since I'm eventually planning on having Desmond infiltrate the Snakes to spy on them for the Police Force :-D

Haha, well after he wraps his mind around giant turtles and magic science and humans from other planets, maybe he can handle that.

Oooh, Conan would definitely be interested in that. He's seriously like a mini James Bond sometimes. It even comes up in canon. Some characters from the FBI show up and call him just like James Bond.

Hi Lel! I'm Seal, I play Pepper Potts from Iron Man: Armored Adventures. I'm not familiar with Conan or his canon, but it sounds pretty cool!

Pepper is very much into policing and detectiving herself, so they should probably meet. :)

Its a fun canon! Its basically an 800 episode homage to classic detective literature. Conan is... well he's the poster child for why allowing young impressionable children to pick Sherlock Holmes as a role model is a terrible idea.

He will definitely be interested in meeting! In canon he spends a lot of time with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police/Police in other districts/FBI/private detectives of every description.

Depends, would they let a seven-year-old join? Because he still has to pretend to be seven, for canon related reasons. If not he'd happily pick someone out to follow around and backseat drive through investigations.

Well, if he proves himself competent it probably won't matter what age he presents at. We can see how it goes; he may just need to stay out of more dangerous situations since probably no one wants to be responsible for the seven-year-old getting injured.

He has lots of experience sneaking along on investigations people have tried to keep him out of. Since in canon he's hunting down an international criminal syndicate mostly on his own...

Oh, good. He and Pepper will get right along. She regularly investigates things she's told to stay way out of, often by hacking the FBI.

Oh good. He could use some more hacking tips. He can hack, but he's been more interested in things like codebreaking.

It's not the most useful skill here in Keeliai, but she's always happy to chat about it. He should probably talk to Tony, too, then. He's the better hacker by far (also he can hack things with Extremis nanobots so).

That sounds like it could be interesting too! I barely know a thing about the canon, but teen geniuses are always fun to throw at each other. Even if one of them is currently three feet tall.

It's a hilarious high school AU, I highly recommend it (I am not biased shhhh). Yeah, I think Tony and Conan would get along pretty well, hopefully you bump into each other soon :D

Oh my goodness. I've never seen the anime or manga, but I've run across Conan in RP a few times, and what a fun character! He and Tim should definitely meet--Tim is a 17 year old smarty pants detective also--though he's been treating this as a vacation (he's had a rough few years).

That said, I would love for Conan to figure Tim out (he's terrible at vacations, and has been doing the vigilante thing anyway), and call him on it. c:

I love playing Conan in games. It's such fun having him come in and disbelieve everything, because all the explanations are so ridiculous.

He could definitely do that! Just let me know exactly what you want him to figure out. Because I swear that his canon deductive ability is about one step below reading minds sometimes.

Though he might boggle a little. How can you take a vacation from being a detective? Detectiving is literally his entire life.

...Of course he can't even walk down the street without stumbling across a murder scene. Let alone go on vacation anywhere.

Oh yes! I've been pretty quiet lately--I have two tiny kids who take up a lot of my time and energy--but now that they're napping at the same time, I have a bit more time and energy to get back into the swing of things! We can definitely do something with the roommate thing, too, if you want! I'm just super happy to have the energy to play again!

I'd be interesting in doing something if you want! If nothing else, there should be something fun we could do with superhero stuff, since Danny's still trying to play secret identity.
