Those who consider Malicant a dark god whose end was unjust are the cultists of Keeliai, and they aren't always so easy to identify as one might think. Sometimes their presence is felt in the growing urge to give into one's darker instincts, especially in such a foreign place...

Every city has its vices, and Keeliai is no different. Perhaps you actively sought it out, or perhaps an opportunistic dealer saw you as a potential customer needing a free sample, but you're now in possession of a packet of Lucid, an emotion-enhancing drug. Tu Vishan's latest landfall stop has brought an unwelcome problem to its residents: enormous, toothy creatures who look more like pterosaurs than most people are comfortable with! How are you going to fend them off, or help someone who might have been injured by the latest dive bombing??

Serah Farron | Final Fantasy XIII-2
[Serah may normally be a very good-natured person, but back home, there was a reason why she and her sister were two people you didn't want to piss off. Serah is trying her best to be polite as possible, but the vendor isn't budging at all, and Serah knows there's gotta be a middle ground.
She's trying to be reasonable, really. Her words seem tense, to say the least, even though they come out politely.]
Look. I really need that piece of fruit, but I also have some other items I still need to get. If you could just go down a little bit....
[The vendor shakes his head, and Serah's face grows darker, angrier, voice steely.]
Just compromise and I'll be on my way.
[Someone please stop this before something gets out of hand.]

[Her smile is gracious but awkward as a native touches her necklace, trying to ask for a price while it's still around her neck. Of course, Serah's not going to sell it, and she keeps trying to get away, but if she moves, the necklace might be torn off of her neck, and it's the last thing she wants. A gloved hand goes to the native's wrist, gently tugging at it. It doesn't seem to be working.]
I really need to look for him, please let me go.
