How are you going to fend them off, or help someone who might have been injured by the latest dive bombing??

Although, as a politician and duty-bound individual, she herself couldn't get behind abandoning any responsibilities in her care. That this woman did... she couldn't speak on it. She didn't know the circumstances.
"If the one you serve isn't angry, then your sister's lecture would fall on deaf ears, yes? And the best way to kill despair is with hope. Even in the bleakest of all times, there is still good in every person and heart. It's just finding the ability to listen to it."

She ponders and tilts her head, "Avatar of power is the simplest explanation. My master knows all who come to the Velvet Room eventually must go off on their own destiny, and stated that many times. Ultimately we are simply servants of Philemon, but it is hard to explain to those who have not been part of an ordeal."
She looks up at the door as all 8 of the eyes focus on her, "Yes, but what for those hope is dead that keep feeding it? I speak not for myself, but for humanity."

The rest of the information is a bunch of words that she has no reference for, however from what she could pick out, it appeared that whatever decision this woman had come to had some sort of sanction from the person she referred to as her master. But it sounded less like slavery and just regular servitude.
The eyes in the door were discomforting, but she'd lived through worse, she was sure. "Hope is never dead. Hearts, eyes, minds and ears might shut, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a chance of finding someone who will listen, see or know about Hope. Humanity and people in general have a very strange way of always bouncing back. It only takes one tiny spark to start a fire, after all."
