TEST DRIVE MEME - TU SHANSHU EDITION!
Itching to try out writing a character? Then rev up your engines, grab your accounts, and slam your way into this meme! Here is a venue for you to try out whatever character there might be tickling your fancy, from fandom to OC, for as few as one and as many as MANY. Seriously, there's no limit.

How do you partake in this fantastic congregation of character testing? Why, by following these simple steps:

→ Comment with the journal of a character you want to test; put their name and canon in the subject line for added sparkles.
→ Tag around with everyone!
→ Profit like you live on a the back of a turtle!
→ Maybe even RESERVE so you CAN live on the back of a turtle!

But wait, there's more! For the low, low price of $9,999.99, you can even use one of our handy prompts when you tag someone. You could even pick one with a Random Number Generator to help decide which prompt to go with!
  1. Haggling Over Something in the Marketplace!
Maybe someone else saw the exact same shiny thing you did at the exact same moment! However shall this be resolved? Remember: blood is extremely hard to scrub off of turtle shell!

  2. Dramatic Chase Sequence!
You're running away from something! It could be anything, from a rampaging kirin to a gaggle of overly enthusiastic children! One way or another, you can't stop, and much like a katamari ball, you feel obligated to grab everyone in your path along the way to keep them out of danger! Or perhaps you're more the sort to try and knock them into it as a distraction...?

  3. Where There's A Will, There's A...?
The Life and Dreaming Planes have been merged, and sometimes what starts out as wishful thinking becomes lured into reality. That slick new motorcycle or pile of kingly treasure you were just daydreaming about? Surprise! It's just appeared in front of you. Though, it may only stay for a short while before it disappears again, so make it count. Hopefully you're not the type to daydream about terrible things befalling people you don't like...

  4. SECRET UNDERCOVER MODE ACTIVATE!
The three major kedan families all have their own agendas, and you've chosen to entangle yourselves with one (or more!) of them. Are you hoping to shift the balance of power? Gain some favours? Perhaps you're on a mission to bring a criminal to justice, or maybe you just want to get the cream of the crop from the black market. Maybe you haven't been hired by them at all, but are using their name for your own goals... as long as no one discovers the lie!

  5. Wait... you want my what now?!
The kedan are a curious folk, and the Foreigners are entertainment in conveniently arriving packages, especially when they come along with unique items that the kedan might not have seen before. Maybe it's your cellphone... or maybe it's your knickers! How badly do you want to keep your stuff from some overeager native shapeshifters who want to buy, bribe, or burglarize it right off your person?

  6. Sea prunes, get your sea prunes right here!
Life in Keeliai can take a little getting used to: the chickens have scales, the cows have feathers, and the fruits come in more colour and pattern combinations than your average tye-dye shirt. Not to mention that meal you just ordered from the food vendor? Has arrived on the plate, and you're pretty sure you just saw it move.

  7. Everybody needs a little darkness...
The Great Enemy may have been defeated over two years ago, and people are even willing to speak Malicant's name aloud now, but there remains a taint in the city never fully purged. Those who consider Malicant a dark god whose end was unjust are the cultists of Keeliai, and they aren't always so easy to identify as one might think. Sometimes their presence is felt in the growing urge to give into one's darker instincts, especially in such a foreign place...

  8. Illicit substances, anyone?
Every city has its vices, and Keeliai is no different. Perhaps you actively sought it out, or perhaps an opportunistic dealer saw you as a potential customer needing a free sample, but you're now in possession of a packet of Lucid, an emotion-enhancing drug. Interested in finding out what happens when you crush that colourful crystal and ingest it?

  9. Incoming!
Tu Vishan's latest landfall stop has brought an unwelcome problem to its residents: enormous, toothy creatures who look more like pterosaurs than most people are comfortable with! With a twenty-foot wingspan, these aren't exactly harmless local wildlife, and they have a nasty habit of swooping down on targets both Foreigner and kedan! How are you going to fend them off, or help someone who might have been injured by the latest dive bombing??

  10. WILDCARD!
Go nuts. Suddenly your character is fighting dragons! Good God, they've found the Millennium Falcon drifting in the ocean! Do you really feel the need to polish every paving stone in the Earth Sector? Anything goes!

[ did you know that the Welcome Center has a very nice couch that they don't mind lending? now you do.

Anyways, he laughs at Klaus' comment, glad to see that his boss was doing so well, considering the situation. ]

I understand...I'm even starting to miss Zapp, of all people. [ and he isn't even going to mention Michella. That should go without saying. ]

It's good to see you too, Mr. Klaus-- even if it is due to such a weird situation. So...what's this place like?

[Oh Leo, honey, no]

[Still, Klaus chortles at the mention of Zapp]

I concur. I'd grown used to our morning routine. Hopefully I won't be caught off guard when I return.

[He rubbed his chin thoughtfully at Leo's second question as he led him to the kitchen.]

Different from Jerusalem's Lot, certainly. There isn't as much violent crime - the four families seem good at keeping things in check, though I've heard talk of a proper legal system being implemented. The Kedan place a great deal of emphasis on community, and expect we foreigners to contribute. As it stands, the turtle is in some manner of coma. For a time it was sinking, but we coordinated an effort to move him to shallower waters and we are currently anchored off the coast of Tavimbi.

[He put the kettle on the stove, and selected a few canisters of various blends.]

The city of Hatal has been most gracious in allowing the emergency docking and welcoming us in visiting their city. And while I doubt you'd ever purposefully commit a crime, it would be prudent to ask about their laws before heading in. They treat all crimes as equal, and punishment is left up to the one wronged.

[He set the canisters down in front of Leo. One was a basic black tea, another green. The rest were various floral blends, and one carried the scent of sweet spices.]

...Which would you prefer?

[ Klaus sure gives a lot of information, and Leo wishes that he could ask his boss to slow down for at least a few seconds to process everything. There's more than just the turtle?

Instead, he nods every once in a while, hoping to give the red head the feeling that he's understanding everything. It's a good thing that his eyes are closed; a blank stare is nearly impossible to be noticed.

The info about the city of Hatal, though, piques his interest. All crimes as equal? Punishment left up to the victim? Who made this law?? The babylonians? ]

Do you know any of the laws? I mean I don't really want to get in trouble for something strange like, I don't know...walking on the wrong sidewalk or something. [ an awkward laugh. He is so confused ]

[ oh- right, the tea. Leo inhales, taking in the aromas from the canisters. They all smelled so good...it was hard to decide. But it's better to go with what he knows. ]

Black tea sounds good, I think. [ smile ] Do you need any help, Mr. Klaus?

[It was astounding - just having one member of Libra here was enough for Klaus to fall back into the habit of briefing. He decided it was best to curb that - Libra didn't exist on TuVishan and Leo wasn't employed by him here. Best to leave such things for home.]

I haven't run across anything too unusual, no. But I thought it best to warn you before you go out exploring.

[He picked up the canisters, putting all but the black tea away, which he instead scooped measured spoonfuls into a little teapot.]

Ah - if you could take the kettle off the burner, I would appreciate it.

Gotcha, I'll keep that in mind...

[ it's surprising, how his boss' attitude suddenly changed from something less...leader of Libra-ish. Though it makes Leo smile- he guesses that Klaus is probably holding himself back.

He takes up on the others request, taking the kettle with a covered hand ( oh, the magic of long sleeves ) and turning the burner off. ]

Have you gone out exploring there, sir? How different is it from the city we're in now?
purered: (No room for small talk)

[It was quite an adjustment for Klaus, but he found he could relax here a bit more. He was still as polite as ever, and his manner of speech almost ridiculously formal, but it lacked much of the stiffness he had back home.]

Thank you, Leonardo.

[He took the kettle, and poured the steaming water into the pot.]

Hatal is, for starters, underground, though it puts the one in Montreal to shame. It's carved into the very mountain and is a sight to behold. If nothing else, it's worth a visit for the spectacle alone.

[He smiled fondly. He'd enjoyed his escapades there for the most part, and while he was seeking a way to wake TuVishan, it had been nice just to see the sights.]

How much of Keeliai have you gotten to explore?

[personal profile] omnivident 2016-02-28 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
That sounds incredible. I'll definitely have to check it out!

[ Leo's expression brightens up considerably at the news of having such interesting sights to explore- his photographer side is itching to go out and explore again.

Well, until his camera stopped working, at least. It would have been nice if he had been brought to the place with his camera charger but hey, can't have everything, right? ]

I actually haven't had much time to explore. I've been helping out at the Welcome Center and well, actually today I was kind of exploring before I saw you. [ aka before his camera was nearly stolen ] It all seems so amazing...it's still hard to believe, and it's already been a week.

[There's a rumble of laughter from Klaus's upper slopes.]

If you don't mind recommendations, the Water Sector is quite beautiful. Very photogenic and - Ah-

[He perked as if remembering something.]

Mr Stark can probably help with keeping your camera charged.
