See? He could be thoughtful! Even if he was still relying on the outcome of his own cooking to make the impact. Most of the food here wasn't made with the assumption you had never tasted anything interesting before, and now Junior was worried that too much flavor might put her off from it entirely.

"Alright, thank you." The smells coming off of it were rather overwhelming, and the colors and textures visible in the stew rather intimidating. She decided to just pick an unidentifiable chunk and dive in.
She put it in her mouth and started to chew, her eyes maybe popping out slightly. She didn't speak until she'd finished chewing and swallowing. "It's very strange! Is it supposed to burn?"

"When you say burn, do you mean it's hot?" he asked. "Or is it too much flavor?"

She gestured at the bowl and reached out to give him her fork. It had a noticeably spicy profile, but it was very mild; of course, to someone who'd never tasted spice before...

"It's spice," he said, not at all reacting to it. Mild was putting it lightly. "Used to add flavor in a lot of things, but it's pretty overwhelming and not everyone likes it. We should try getting you something less powerful."
