TEST DRIVE MEME - TU SHANSHU EDITION!
Itching to try out writing a character? Then rev up your engines, grab your accounts, and slam your way into this meme! Here is a venue for you to try out whatever character there might be tickling your fancy, from fandom to OC, for as few as one and as many as MANY. Seriously, there's no limit.

How do you partake in this fantastic congregation of character testing? Why, by following these simple steps:
→ Comment with the journal of a character you want to test; put their name and canon in the subject line for added sparkles.
    → Tag around with everyone!
→ Profit like you live on a the back of a turtle!
→ Maybe even RESERVE so you CAN live on the back of a turtle!
But wait, there's more! For the low, low price of $9,999.99, you can even use one of our handy prompts when you tag someone. You could even pick one with a Random Number Generator to help decide which prompt to go with!
  1. Haggling Over Something in the Marketplace!
Maybe someone else saw the exact same shiny thing you did at the exact same moment! However shall this be resolved? Remember: blood is extremely hard to scrub off of turtle shell!

  2. Dramatic Chase Sequence!
You're running away from something! It could be anything, from a rampaging kirin to a gaggle of overly enthusiastic children! One way or another, you can't stop, and much like a katamari ball, you feel obligated to grab everyone in your path along the way to keep them out of danger! Or perhaps you're more the sort to try and knock them into it as a distraction...?

  3. Where There's A Will, There's A...?
The Life and Dreaming Planes have been merged, and sometimes what start out as wishful thinking becomes lured into reality. That slick new motorcycle or pile of kingly treasure you were just daydreaming about? Surprise! Though it may only stay for a short while before it disappears again, so make it count. Hopefully you're not the type to daydream about terrible things befalling people you don't like...

  4. SECRET UNDERCOVER MODE ACTIVATE!
The three major kedan families all have their own agendas, and you've chosen to entangle yourselves with one (or more!) of them. Are you hoping to shift the balance of power? Gain some favours? Perhaps you're on a mission to bring a criminal to justice, or maybe you just want to get the cream of the crop from the black market.

  5. WILDCARD!
Go nuts. Suddenly your character is fighting dragons! Good God, they've found the Millennium Falcon drifting in the ocean! Do you really feel the need to polish every paving stone in the Earth Sector? Anything goes!

"You're taking it better than many people do," Raine remarked, sounding pleasantly surprised. "Yes, you will find yourself having to accept more things that you previously thought were impossible."

She glanced him over once more and nodded to herself, satisfied that he would be fine. "There may simply be more worlds to explore, yes," she agreed. "At the very least, it would be difficult to conclusively prove the absence of other sentients." Her little smile turned a bit wry at the last.

"I can show you to the Guild, or to the Midnight Hotel, if you like."

"I have found that panic is never a useful emotion in such situations," Simon smiled. "And, being a surgeon, I'm used to having proverbial nerves of steel. I have to control my emotions to some degree in the operating room."

He nodded. "I would appreciate that- and you're right, we still cannot prove there is nothing out there. We just need to find it, or them to find us."

"It's a useful skill." Raine sounded approving.

She glanced around them, orienting on her current location, and then picked a direction, indicating it to Simon as well with a wave of her hand. "We're closer to the Hotel right now, so I'll show you there first. The proprietor is a good man."

A brief pause, then, returning to the matter she'd dismissed earlier. Simon and doctor hadn't been quite enough, but combined with a world where space travel was commonplace, and magic was not... "And, in any case, there's something else there that you may be interested in. Do you have a younger sister?"

"It has probably saved more than a few lives," Simon agreed. "Medical school taught me how to deal with the emotional as well as the practical... because as a doctor, you cannot completely detach yourself from your work, but you can learn to set things aside for when you can afford to deal with them."

He then immediately perked up at the mention of a sister.

"I do! Her name is River- is she here?"

"Exactly so." Raine had no formal medical training herself, but a similar philosophy, developed for similar reasons, which had contributed to their successes any number of times.. "The ability to prioritize effectively is an invaluable one."

Simon's reaction looked much like her own might be, if she heard word of her brother returning, and there was something wistful around the edges of her smile. "River, yes. I thought that might be the case. She's here-- she mentioned you to me, when we spoke. She's been staying in the Midnight Hotel."

"Indeed... especially when you are dealing with others' lives, and with emotional family members. I am a trauma surgeon- that is, I worked with emergency cases where people often had life-threatening injuries- and I would often catch the brunt of the panic from their loved ones."

Simon smiled.

"I am not surprised that she brought me up. I am sure she will find me as soon as she knows that I am here, probably sooner than I would find her."

There was a pause. Raine looked thoughtful. "Yes," she said, "River is more perceptive than most, isn't she? Even if it's sometimes difficult to sort out what she intends to say; she does seem to like metaphor..."

Raine was aware she didn't know the half of it, or the reasons why River was the way she was, but Simon did, and it was up to him and his sister if they wanted to elaborate.

"When my brother was here, he found me before I even knew he had arrived," Raine offered, in something like solidarity. She, too, as an elder sibling sure the younger would surpass her.
