[pro tip: do not ask her to choose between her brother and her lover literally no one will be happy with that]

Wait no

Would Raine choose to eradicate all current and future disease if it meant she gave up the ability to heal things like broken bones or life-threatening injuries?
ruinsprofessor: (focus down)

was that your first choice.

Provided the definition of disease is broad enough, yes. Ideally, she'd want it to include exsphere stuff, too-- chronic angelus crystallus inofficium, to make sure no one else gets that, and it would be nice if in exchange for giving up Resurrection, no one had to worry about being turned into a monster because an exsphere screwed with their mana, but it's debatable whether that counts as a disease since it's effectively a condition inflicted by a parasite...

The point is, it's worth it. She can find another healer to teach at least the theory to, and she's still got archaeology and all manner of other hobbies. It's a big part of her identity, yes, but she'd retain at least mundane stuff, and while it would be hard not being able to do anything about the people hurt right in front of her...

That's so many lives right there. I'm not sure how she could not.

I'm a horrible person remember.

Pragmatism and sentimentality. You are Good People, Raine.

It is ideal when she can combine the two, yes.

And she does appreciate knowing she's thought of that way.

Even if it is because horrible horrible choices.

Being thought of that way even during horrible horrible choices is what makes Raine Good People.
